I once met a 55 year old Caribbean man in a bar in Germany. Being an 87 born, I started talking cricket and bragged that Ambrose was the greatest ever fast bowler produced by West Indies. All the while during my ramble, he was sitting there quietly with nothing but a simple smile on his face. Hours later when it was time to leave, he got up and and spoke in a low tone "My young friend, Ambrose was indeed great. But you know who was even greater ? ... Malcolm Marshall"
Paid for us both and left... I was left baffled

Nice story, but I think most of us who saw the late 70s onward know that Maco was the greatest. He had everything. Would have been interesting to see how many wickets Curtly would have got if he had played as part of the earlier WI quartets ie late 70s early 80s. A great bowler but Maco the greatest. And if Sylvester Clarke hadn't have thrown that brick in Multan................
