This was the 100th test at Lords , I think 21 or 22 wickets fell on day 2, Windies were bowled out for 51 , I will always rememeber when the match was over , and Bob Willis(RIP) was commentating , he read the bowling figures and that part were he said "Franklin Rose bowled absolute rubbish." had me laughing,a great match and a good series for the bowlers.The windies had two great bowlers at the start but a very poor backup,at this time I thought they had turned a corner , they had young players like Sarwan , Wavell Hinds and Chris Gayle ,sadly things have not changed much, the windies really struggled at Headingly losing by an innings.
Yeah they bowled superbly specially walsh in the 4th innings. England had to chase a not too large total and walsh and ambrose almost brought them back from the dead from 95-1. Pity their batting was outright awful with some bad backup bowling

The only thing here is how two greats who started test cricket between 1986 and 1988 respectively were the only bowlers from 1991 (after Marshall retired) that gave West Indies a bit of hope. Why the other bowlers could not be disciplined like these two I cannot understand. By the time they retired they were bowling around 80mph. In their prime they were around 90-95mph. Really miss these two guys.

@@Zulu_1-1 Chanderpaul is a genuine great. But he wasn't before the year 2000, when Ambrose bowed out. Between 1994 and 2000, he only twice averaged above 40. The West Indies from a batting perspective was very much a one man, sometimes two man show(Adams played some really important innings between 1992 and 2000) before the year 2000. That being said. Chanderpaul was a victim of extremely stupid selection choices in the 90s and possibly cliquism. The west indies for the 95 series vs Australia, what turned out to be our first series loss in 15 years was very much a self inflicted defeat. The WI stuck with failures like Keith Athurton, who wasn't up to standard, and Stuart Williams, who while talented, wasn't ready at all, instead of Chanderpaul and Phil Simmons(who had an excellent one day series and was the third highest scorer in the odi series), not to mention denying Desmond Haynes the opportunity to be selected for the series because he had fulfilled a contract with Western Province, instead of playing in our infinitely inferior four day tournament

For batting they had Lara and Chanderpaul. For bowling they had Ambrose and Walsh. What happened to them after that phase. Windies of today is a total heartbreak!
@@Zulu_1-1 Chanderpaul is a genuine great. But he wasn't before the year 2000, when Ambrose bowed out. Between 1994 and 2000, he only twice averaged above 40. The West Indies from a batting perspective was very much a one man, sometimes two man show(Adams played some really important innings between 1992 and 2000) before the year 2000. That being said. Chanderpaul was a victim of extremely stupid selection choices in the 90s and possibly cliquism. The west indies for the 95 series vs Australia, what turned out to be our first series loss in 15 years was very much a self inflicted defeat. The WI stuck with failures like Keith Athurton, who wasn't up to standard, and Stuart Williams, who while talented, wasn't ready at all, instead of Chanderpaul and Phil Simmons(who had an excellent one day series and was the third highest scorer in the odi series), not to mention denying Desmond Haynes the opportunity to be selected for the series because he had fulfilled a contract with Western Province, instead of playing in our infinitely inferior four day tournament
