That catless downpipe really wakes the car up. It sounds so good too!
Man Im going to get an 340i this week and this channel has everything. Thank you 👏🏼
Thank so much for this! I’ll be installing this on my 340i as well 🙏🏼
wow man the sky is SO blue in north carolina... and super green everywhere lol. i'm from new york
That's called over saturation my dude
Love your videos! Thanks for making them.
I guess VRSF did some update to their B58 downpipe, now with the supporting bracket, and hopefully they fix the O.D pipe going to midpipe. Their previous version downpipe was a tad too big and won't fit midpipe without the use of a pipe expander tool, almost every buyer of the old downpipe was complaining about this issue.
They may have 🤷🏻♂️ I was thinking the same.
it also has an issue with hitting the support underneath and rattling, mine has this issue, there isnt enough clearance no matter how you put it on
I have heard of this issue!
Thanks for posting! Used this as a reference to install my catless vrsf today :) sounds great!
Im having this installed this week! I got my M240 almost 2 weeks ago. I have an intake on and I can’t wait to hear it with the downpipe on!. Hopefully within a month or 2 I can flash it
Just as a heads up, you will have a CEL until you flash the monitors off
@@NoClutchGaragehow do you do that? I have MHD.
@@chrispedraza4140 On flash options you should see an option that turns O2 monitoring off
Imma act like you didn’t try to loosen that o2 sensory while cranking right but😂
Hey mistakes happen LMAO
Great choice with the Down pipe, had to do the same with my car!
Nice upgrade 👍
Really gotta do this upgrade......cause it is an upgrade for sure.
Indeed! Be ready for a flash tune soon after!
@@NoClutchGarage Recommend any lol? I already have the MPPSK btw.
I just installed the catted hi flow vrsf and did a dual res delete, my 340 is crazy LOUD now.
I don’t want drone in mines, is that a good setup? I’m getting a catless downpipe and I was thinking of deleting my muffler and deleting one resonator but keeping the other to avoid drone. Or just delete the muffler.
@@JE335 no its not a good mod. Sounds like shit.
I only did a single resonator delete and called it a day
Good video brother! I might have to do this
This mod will throw a code in the dash? Asking because I want to put one similar to my m140i
Did the VRSF pipe come with a new gasket installed or did you use the old one? Not sure if I saw that step in the video.
No it dont
Nice content, like always, vrsf or racewekers ??, quality is really good on both, CTS intake on its way by the way 😜, milltek catback or scorpion ??? milltek has 2 tubes from the downpipe to the backbox, instead of just one pipe for the scorpion, don't know which one to get.
What's your catback setup ??
I’m stock from the downpipe back. Looking at the DINAN midpipes though. VRSF and Racewerks are both good, it’s up to preference at that point but VRSF seems to have a wider pipe...
Feel Free to install some parts on my car also. lol
Just say when bro!
I think the catted downpipe would sound less raspy right?
No
A pain to take that job on without a lift. No anti-seize on your O2 sensor threads? A pipe expander tool is recommended to get the mid-pipe back on easier. For the catless pipes, suggest use of the 90 degree M18x1.5 mini catalytic CEL bung adapter plug spacer for O2 sensor- even sold on Amazon. A high flow 200 cell catted pipe better for daily routine street use with less smell imho. I really wanna do this to my leased 540i... but don't want to be on the hook for reversing it out at lease return.
Definitely a pain! An adapter wasn’t really necessary though I thought about it!
How can I remove the check engine light regarding the downpipe/custom exhuast fabrications? Is there a way to remove the codding ONLY for the exhuast part and not the check engine entirely? Is there a sensory cap I cam plug in to trick the system? (2018 BMW 230i F22)
PLEASE HELP 🙏🏼🙈
You need a tune
Hey quick question, If i did a sports cat on my OEM Exhaust note its not MPE will i get burbles and some crackles and pops? (540i B58)
What?
Will the engine light come on If I install this on my 2022 540i msport
When I switched out my downpipe for the careless downpipe there was a loud rattling sound coming from the downpipe and it only happens on cold start is there any reason for that
It’s probably hitting a heat shield or the subframe
Can you still have a control on the sound by adding a flap actuator like the m performance exhaust kit has ?
DP is not related to the flap actuator
Hello your bmw is a F30 ?
Was
@@NoClutchGarage Because i have a bmw 2018 340i and I just want make sure that this downpipe will fit mine Car
What about the CEL light with the secondary O2 sensor, what’s the fix for that?
Tune
Impressive, changing it without normal lift is very creative. I had downpipe installed, but after 3000 km I downgraded it back to the stock one because of smell. Every time when I stoped on the traffic lightI - I was feeling this smell (even with closed windows). I could imaging what people in the car behind me was feeling. Wonder if sport cat can solve it?
Sport cat is definitely better for smell
You had an exhaust leak. You shouldn't smell anything in the vehicle
What kind of special downpipe do you have??
If I don't want a tune, isn't a midpipe a lot simplier?
Not simpler but a good alternative in terms of sound not in terms of flow
Did you remove the ring in the stock down pipe and put it on the vrsf one or not because I did mine and I didn’t put it on and I was wondering if it’s okay?
If you can transfer it do so. I have seen these be installed without them but I do not recommend that as you could have an exhaust leak as a reault
If I were to get a high flow catted downpipe, could I pass smog still? Since I do have cats.
Yes
do you know is it hard to do on a n20?
I want this for the 440i vrsf downpipe vrsf chargepipe , coldair intake and an bm3 ecu tune stage 2 what do u think of that ?
The goal is 420+ hp.
Don’t do cold air intake, just stick to a drop in filter to avoid heat soak. Drop in filter, catless DP, stage 2 bm3 you’ll be 430-450
@@b58xcv64 thanks i also been told to tune the transmission with the xhp stage 3
You don't need the charge pipe either
What’s up man I purchased a downpipe for my 240 but it doesn’t have the small bracket that the two bolts go through do you think this would be an issue
No, most performance down pipes don’t have it either, you should be good!
I have a catless dp for my b58 with mg flasher stage 1. Scared about boost creep, have you heard anything about this or can you give any advice? Will I run into boost creep with this setup? Thanks
Boost creep will not happen on this setup.
Will this interfere with the smog test in California?
Yes
Ewwwww why live in California
Is the cat less version better than the catted ?
Less restriction = More flow
Hey quick question. Looking to do this install on my g22 How did you get jack stands in place? Cant seem to find my front central jack point
There are jack points along the sides and as far as s a front central jack point I just placed the jack stand on the subframe.
@@NoClutchGarage sounds good u think itd be safe to use a hydraulic jack on one side and a scissor on the other instead of stands?
@@creaxtion Honestly you’d be just fine with one jack and a jack stand.
@@NoClutchGarage alright i appreciate it also how hard is it to reach the o2 sensors before taking off the downpipe, i heard its much easier taking them off before?
@@creaxtion It’s easy, just do it from the top.
Sheeshshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Was this done with stock exhaust?
Yes
Do you know if the catted VRSF dp would pass emissions?
It would not
need atleast 300-400 cell sport cat to pass emissions
After installing the downpipe, did you have the CEL come on? Is a tune required?
Yes a tune is required! You can use O2 Sensor spacers but they’re not very efficient solutions.
@@NoClutchGarage Great! Thanks!
Do you get the little rattle sound when you start up the car during cold start ? I installed a ER catless dp and the cold start makes the exhaust rattle wondering if it's the same with vsrf
That rattle means you’re probably hitting a heat shield somewhere. No rattle with this DP.
The rattle with catless downpipe is usually wastegate rattle
Hold up, if you work at euro empire you must live in Charlotte?
Haha, I don’t work at EuroMpire, I’m a brand ambassador for the shop and I have a great relationship with them, they’re great people, but you are correct I do live in the Charlotte area.
NoClutch Garage I’m thinking about getting a 340i after college and I’m brining it to EuroMpire. Give me 2 years lol
I hear about an exhaust expansion tool being required for the DP to fit into the exhaust. Other folks experienced this?
Depending on how tight your midpipe opening is. I had to open mine up a few mm.
Vrsf or wagner downpipe better?
VRSF
NoClutch Garage why ?
Well I guess it depends, I thought Wagner only produced catted down pipes, if that’s something you’re looking for then that may be the best option for you
would be a dream to install catless dp in germany 😓😂
Do it and then just swap when you need inspection 😂
if it would be so easy, the problem is the police.. when they find out that you‘re driving without a cat, there is a penalty for tax evasion 😂 sry for my english
Yeah theres that, but....u do own the autobahn 😍😍😍
Do you have to remove air box to do this?
It makes it easier
Just curious how many VBand tightening fittings are they that attach DP to turbo flange? 2 or 3 ....torque specs? And specs for bracket bolts and bolts that attach DP to midpipe? Thx man
I’m putting this on my 540i xdrive
Ensure firmest is compatible
Catted or Catless?
Catless
Hello nice video, there is a rattling sound in the cold start or its normal ?
It’s probably hitting your heat shield!
What resonator and muffler?
Straight pipe
I really just like dont wanna do this mannn ima just pay someone
Hahaha I don’t blame you
I installed a vrsf downpipe on my 340 but after 70 miles of driving the car the engine light turned on
Did that happen to u as well? And how do u fix it
@@jordy652 it's because it's a cat-less down-pipe which will not pass a state emission test and throw a engine light. It's usually use when you tune a car using BootMod3 or MHD and that will clear that engine light for you. If you are not planing to tune your car, then you should buy a high flow Catted down-pipe not the cat-less one.
Exactly what Scott said!
@@jordy652 A proper 02 spacer, preferably one with a 90 degree angle in most cases will prevent this CEL. There are some stories where it doesn't work but, many of them turn out to be grounding issues or improper installation.
UK cars wont pass the MOT test with this mod
Sorry to hear!
Did it need spacers for the O2 sensors?
No
Is boost creep an issue? Been looking at downpipe, but coming from my sti tuners wouldn't touch catless unless you were external wastegate.
No boost creep is not an issue
@@NoClutchGarage I think I read on b58 group that some folks were putting spacers on the rear o2 sensor for some reason. What's the reasoning?
It’s to help keep the CEL in check without a tune!
Good deal man thanks for the help
Why do all you TH-camrs move your arm so much when you talk 😂
Nerves
@@NoClutchGarage awesome videos
Isnt Evolution Racewerks better
It’s certainly a great Downpipe!
It’s a cat less downpipe brand doesn’t matter as long as the construction/figment is good
Design absolutely matters, which is why brand matters.
NoClutch Garage if we were talking catted I agree 100%. As far as catless goes, my original statement stands. It’s just a hollow tube. This was confirmed by multiple tuner shops and lots of online research.
