I own a door business in Canada am have been waiting from springs 10-12 months I have done this a few time in 14 years This year i have done this 10 - 15 time already and the year is only 1/2 done I do it a little different But the same principle I do hope that people realize that the winding of the spring if done with the wrong tools is one of the most dangerous things they can do I know of a few people that have been seriously hurt and one person dieded using the wrong tools So if you try this Please be extremely careful!!!
Ive got one spring ive been waiting on for 2 months. They sent the left right away. Right wind has been on back order ever since. Its a 234 wire 40" long. I dont really wanna put a weaker spring on it...
Oh a cone tool would definitely be a good purchase 20+ years ago.. same with the surewinder.. wish I'd bought one when I first started.. now I'm 53 and my rotator cuffs are shot..

Yea gettin some torsion springs lately is like a waiting list for organs. Gotta get something close and be very tweaky in some cases.
