I will remember Rishi Kapoor for his songs and Irfan Khan for his acting. Hindi Medium, piku were my favourite and then Jurassic park. Can’t forget Rishi Kapoor songs from Kabhi Khabi, Chandani, Bobby, and yes, sagar jaisi ankhon wali, ye tu bata Tera naam hae kia. 😍 Hassan , Amna making me remember his extremely melodious ever green songs. A great loss for Indian cinema indeed. RIP.

Growing up in the 90s in London I recall every other Saturday my father would watch a bollywood film and he loved the "Amitab Bachan films" My mum being English adored Rishi Kapoor and with her I watched all his films.
He was truly the king of romance back then.

Rishi Kapoor was my childhood crush. I was very young when Bobby released and ever since he has been a heartthrob. We had some common friends and I managed to see a large chunk of the shoot of Jhoota Kahin Ka. I was so infatuated with him, I couldn't get a word out when I was introduced to him.

Grew up in Pakistan, watching almost every Rishi K's film and with each film my love grew for him. One of my favorites in recent times being Kapoor and sons. The scenes that keep coming to mind from Kapoor and sons are the one where he would pretend he's dead, at that time they seemed too funny but now they are a sad reality! RIP Rishi Kapoor.

Thank you both for sharing your personal equation & memories. The iconic Rishi Kapoor always had such beautiful songs! He leaves so many brilliant roles & movies... The classics like Bobby, Kabhi Kabhi, Coolie, Naseeb, Amar Akbar Anthony, Prem Rog...The heart-rending performances in Chandni (my favourite), Deewana, Fanaa, Henna, Damini... evolving into a villain in Agneepath and more recently, the last role I saw & loved him in: the charmingly mischievous grandpa in Kapoor & Sons. His smile, huge talent & outspoken nature will always be remembered, and the sweaters!
I also loved Irrfan Khan in The Namesake & The Lunchbox. I finally got round to watching Hindi Medium today, as expected a fantastically real performance. Very sad few days for the film industry and fans, losing such immense talents 💔

Rishi Kapoor was very fond of Fawad and when the director of Kapoor And Sons wanted to coerce Rishi into doing something,Fawad was the emissary sent to make him agree . Thanks for such a lovely discussion and it brought back the gloom I was feeling the whole day.Rishi Kapoor is just the most iconic romantic hero for me...be it Prem rog or yeh was raha or sitamgar.Main hoon prem rogi ,mosam Piyar ka,yeh wada raha songs are my most heard songs.He just lit up the screen when he appeared half way in Hum Tum and Love asj kal1.Chandni I find more of a Rishi Kapoor film,Naseeb,Tawaif,Deewana,Bol Radha Bol,Sagar,Ik chaadar maili si, Bobby,and the list is just unending.Yes an era of our lives goes with him,RIP.

And I grew up watching Rishi Kapoor's movies and dancing on his songs from Kabhi kabhi and zamane ko dikhana hai..Hum kisise Kum nahin...and so on. And our Piku Star Irrfan ...it is just like personal loss. He was so real and just lika an ordinary man in films we could relate to him.. A Big Thanks to both of you for dedicating one full episode on our Stars. I watch your reviews regularly ... Like Bollywood movies Pakistani Dramas were always an essential part of our lives in India. We appreciate your dramas, actors and directors and ofcourse your drama writers. Why these politicians create fictitious fights. People of both the countries don't want it actually. Amna ji! You said it right that our culture, history, eating habits are same. Thanks again..

Irffan khan is heart breaking. It's an irreplaceable loss. I remember watching Maqbool with two friends. We didn't utter a word all through the film. That was the impact of his presence on the screen. It's really sad that his last days were filled with so much pain.
Life is so unpredictable..watching these superstars since from the childhood...irffan in the serial chandrakanta..may almighty give strength to the family..

It was a lovely tribute. Thank you Amna and Hassan. I too grew up watching Bollywood movies. My father was avid movie watcher. He introduced me to old movies and songs of both India and Pakistan. So grew up watching Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bacchan, Wahid Murad, etc.
Irfan Khan also made an indelible mark. He won my heart in Namesake, Piku, Lunchbox, Qarib qarib single, etc. We can never have another Rishi Kapoor or another Irfan Khan. I am completely heartbroken😢

What a horrible day. Thank you so much for doing this session. I put on different songs and movies to show to my kids what Rishi Kapoor meant to my generation especially to a Bollywood buff like me. I have shed many a tear since the morning. Hai Chandni ke last scenes...'Pi kahan rahun hun...dil mazboot kar raha hun."....."Tamasha bn k reh gye Rohit...Tamasha bn ke reh gye." I’ve grown up on Rishi Kapoor movies. The songs still make me so nostalgic. I would regularly watch Rishi Kapoor’s interviews (and tweets) as he was always so fun and witty! I would have loved to have met him in real life but Alas... RIP Rishi Sir 😣
Irfan Khan was such an awesome actor. I would only watch a movie if he was in it as I knew it would be worth watching. Such a phenomenal actor . They will forever be remembered by the legacy and body of work they’ve left behind 😪

Thank you so much Ms Aamna and Mr Hassan for saying all the things I wanted to say especially for Rishi Kapoor sir. Even though I was born in 1987, his movies and characters were always part of my life. I heard he passed away from reading tweet from my favorite Mr Amitabh Bachchan and I couldn’t stop crying the whole night. He has left a void. Even my young kids loved him.
Both of your words and expressions are telling what I felt when I heard this news.
The first song I heard and saw him in was Dafli Baaje and the first movie I saw of his youth was Amar Akbar Anthony and loved him in it. Bahut dukh hua. I think he was the best thing in 'Kapoor and Sons, love that movie so much because of him! 😔
Two of my all time favourite movies that have my all time favourite songs are Rishi Kapoor movies - Amar, Akbar, Anthony and Yeh Wada Raha. Such joyful bachpan ki yaadein are attached to these movies and songs for me.
Irfan Khan’s effortless acting won’t be able to be matched by anyone. The last movie I watched of his was Qarib Qarib Singlle on Netflix not expecting much but it was amazing and he stole the show with his performance.
Rest In Peace Rishi Kapoor and Irfan Khan, you will be sorely missed.
