      Maham Awan ! You r so right, where is our culture in weddings? First of all we r so mixed with subcontinent culture , we have no our specific culture . Every thing we do is like adopted from someone . We have to admit it.. take this drama as a drama n if we can learn something good then why not .Drama can be popular without nudity, vulgarity & western morals, this is the proof. Why are we so scared ? This drama is banned because of so many reasons .. search & find out why .. when our dramas r watched in other countries we feel proud & when it happens in ours .. we start complaining .

I think shaan logon ko yeh bhi darr hai ke they will have to make quality programmes pehlay saas bahu bana kar kehtay thay ke this is what awaam wants ab pata chala ke awaam also wants quality dramas and they know they will have to raise thier game in thier productions and acting. iss liye kuch ziyaida inko fikr ho rahi hai.

And you cannot say anything against the cruelties they do on their people. Islam originated from Arab, thats true, but today’s KSA is totally different than what it was earlier.
    Ertugrul a great drama and amazing content. It’s a slap on all the producers and directors who make absurd and low quality content for our Pakistani people and mock their intelligence by saying that this is what the audience wants to watch and gives TRP.

When Genghis khan( Mongols) attacked those region, this Kayi tribe became nomad and settled today ‘s Turkey country . So, this drama is historical not regional. 3. early subcontinent warrior like zaheer uddin baber who was the founder of mughal empire he has Turkish blood he was a Turkmen who fought with Afghan warriors and Rajut dynasty
    4. still if you trace many races of Pakistan you will end up in the turks lands

    Pakistani culture is a very complicated amalgamation of many cultures across the region because it's geographically so intricately placed. You can find bits of Persian, Afghan, Indian and then our very own local cultures that are so diverse. In the past decade or so thanks to the media and broadband internet the 'Gora' culture is also starting to take roots here.
    There is no set 'Pakistani' culture, we take what we can from those around us. Same should be the case with this series: take inspiration from it and try to incorporate the good things in your life... Then move on!

    I teach Pakistan Studies and here's a small fact for all the people who think Ertugrul doesn't connect to the subcontinental history, when the Ottoman Empire came to an end in 1923 with the Khilafat being abolished by Attaturk all Indian Muslims came together to struggle against the decision (Khilafat movement, the basis of Pakistan movement) and to save the Ottoman Khalifa Suleman. The Ottoman Empire was established by Ertugrul's son Osman which is why Ertugrul is famous. People lost their lives, homes, families and money during the Khilafat movement. All Muslim nations were one under the same Khilafa during that time, so it's connected to us,. Also the Suljuk Sultanate frequently discussed in Ertugrul stretched to the Himalayas which is our northern region, guys please be real. Amna already discussed how we are culturally related and this is how we are historically related, so people who say we are not just have baseless opinions. Oh and yes Taif was also located in the same region and that's where Muhammad Bin Qasim came from. And for the men commenting on bilgic's instagram, ideally ur not allowed to be stalking her, what the heck were u doing there in the first place, secondly Islam forbids u to dictate a woman who is not related to u (is na mahram) how do i know? I teach Islamiyat too, ja ke thori ahadith khud bhi parhlein. What u were supposed to do was to scroll away from the picture.... btw i loved the session and could feel every bot of Hassan and amna's emotions :) and i believe the series was banned in Arab because of mystic aspect

    Talking about our history and period plays, many years back a drama was produced named dastan and it was a great drama and a big hit and much better than angan. Angan was not a hit bcz it's story was not that great and was not specifically about the partition of hindustan. I would highly recommend u to watch that drama, u will surely not regret it.

Man how can a single drama be a threat to our tradition. Why r we so insecure. And Whats with Pak awaam. Who the heck r they to question the ertugrul cast on their IG. So disturbing, this awaam is so emotionally crazy

    The controversies have just begun. Wait till.the religious police come round with objections to the sufism depicted. Many of my friends loved the series but objected to the mystics in it. You both had some good points. My sister recommended the series to me, and so I went to my go to place, Netflix as I have no social media presence and knew nothing about this drama. There was only season 5 with 80 plus episodes on Netflix and so I started on the long slog I thought. Then I found out s1 was already on youtube, so went through that and just today finished s2. Now the series is well made visually, from costumes, photography to beautiful people, but I do have some critical comments. There are some pacing issues. It is very repetitive after a while, specially with so many episodes each season. I started skipping first one, then two episodes at a time and didn't feel like I missed huge chunks of the storyline. Plus it is very jingoistic at times in some dialogues, blending nationalistic, historic and religious elements into one. That is off putting to me personally as it becomes too much after a while. There are constant slo mo horse riding montages and skirmishes/ambushes/fight scenes. Eventually I ended up fast-forwarding through those. On the plus side it mixed funny with serious well. The characters are well developed and the storylines are very good. I tried the urdu dubbed version for s1 at first, but had to quickly give up on that. I prefer texting with original language. The preaching from some Pakistanis to the poor actors and others is just because we think we are the thekedaars of Islam. Apni girebaan me sab dekhein, dosre ki girebaan me nahin. At least this drama might teach a few people something about civility and how open Islam is as a religion to appeal to very culturally different people.

      @Faraaaaaz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @changingpakistan1 but the media should also highlight the culture and problems of other provinces in local media or else those provinces will feel neglected and their problem wont be discussed or solved...Thats what created the devision of bengal in 1971 and now the same situation is arising in baloch areas because they think other pakistanis dont really care much about them and the media is further creating the devision

    • @Faraaaaaz
      @Faraaaaaz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @changingpakistan1 i agree with what you wrote..And first coming to the point that balochistan is really neglected despite having all the national resources but i kinda differ with your point that half of them wanted to join Iran side of balochistan or become independent country because historically baloch leaders and tribal sardars had the power to decide the fate of their people and so maybe those tribal sardars wanted to be separate but ordinary baloch really didnt think that way..But the govt is still supporting those same sardars and giving them funds instead of giving it to ordinary baloch..Also afghans who think kpk is theres is living a false dream and historically afghan kings really didnt care much about kpk pashtuns and just used them for their own benefits...Thats why even before creation of pakistan for many years kpk was mot part of Afghanistan and afghans didnt even put their claims only after pakistan was formed they started their claims on it ..And modern day turkey was founded on mustafa kamal ataturk vision and ottoman empire is only a small part of it so they dont really care to wear those traditional dresses like shown in the movie but still few tribes in Turkey preserved these tradtion

    I have a very strong cent on this we Pakistanis were always been influenced like previously we were obsessed with indian content bollywood even by their television as well , all thanks to some blockbuster dramas + ban and we returned to our content but from the time Turkish dramas started airing we became influenced to turkey! But at present time its a mix but we should not sideline our own content but meanwhile our industry should come out from their comfort zones and should provide us content rather than only a single 8 pm drama!

Allama Iqbal mentions in his poetry that we are the decendants of Khalid bin waleed and Salahuddin Ayubi.. Then where these turkish boundaries came? Seriously? The Pakistani Content creators criticizing Ertugrul.. Should have worth and make more dramas.. on Pakistani History. No offence.

    There are a lot of things that can be said on this issue but I just want to highlight one point.
    There is difference between Islamic History and Muslim History. This is a story inspired by Turkic Muslim history which included Seljuk Dynasty and later on, Ottoman.
    It's bizarre to consider them saints or holy figures. They were noble men, some part of history and rest are part of fiction.
    I loved your review in the last episode. I second Amna as I also absolutely love Hayme Ana. She is literally one of my favorite character among the Kayi. She is truly the Mother of the Tribe.
    Loving your review so far but I hope your pronunciation of names improve with episodes 🙈

      Also, would like one other thing. Being an obsessive fan doesn't mean you feel it's blasphemous if someone doesn't like the show or criticizes it.
      I was obsessed to the show to a point where I watched 4 seasons in 4 months. I remember and recognize details to a point where I can even recognize inanimate objects or even Aktolgali 😁 but still, it's historical based fiction. Being abusive is insane.

And yes please communicate to our entertainment industry to stop selling us crap cheap entertainment and content inspired from Bollywood when we can have dramas based on our Islamic values. For media has responsibility it can reach masses and whatever they input in the minds of the public gets reflected in the society in the shape of rising violence against women, sex crime and child rape. Media needs to play it's role by showcasing Islamic heroes that spread Islam far and wide in history. Thanks

    What I feel is that actors are being irrational....when pakistan can run indian films and hollywood films in the cinemas...then why not a turkish serial that talks about the rich history of the Ottoman Empire...that talks about the rich Islamic history...it's highly irrational of actors to say that it is based on 'turkish history'..no it's not turkish history...it's the history of Muslim civilization...we as an ummah have the same history and WE NEED TO ACCEPT THIS...WE ALL ARE MUSLIMS AND MUSLIM HISTORY CANNOT BE DIVIDED INTO REGIONAL HISTORY...IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.....All in all if people have issues with the serial don't watch it but don't criticize a serial that highlights islamic morals...

    a) why are we so insecure about our own culture

    c) We can only become better humans if we are truly influenced by Ertugrul's vision, honesty, humility, kindness and empathy.

    2. its a political game from recip tayyab Erdoğan too he faced alot of opposition when he was imposing some Islamic values like ending ban on hijab so its a master stroke from turk establishment too through this erdogan build soft sentiment in their people reminding them of their past
    3. you mentioned saudi ban on this series turk rule most of arab world including haram sharif and Palestin the relations between arab world and turkey is declined since ottoman empire ended Egypt even made a season on ottoman war crimes whose name is kindom on fire which is flopped because story was fake so arab world opposition is expected as they were under turk who are non arabs and according to arabs great honor only arabs can lead the Muslim world so they worried about history that how can Muslims react if they see non arabs who lead Muslims world for almost 600 years

Ertugrul is a true follower of Prophet Mohammed SAW ...we like to see these people practicing the same values we’ve been taught.... I am on the 80th episode of series 3....No spoilers but there is a lot to come in the up coming episodes ...your love for the show may decrease, you might not like some of the situations, get bored , may feel that it is not possible in reality but you’ll still keep watching it. ..the makers have very carefully created a character who is flawless. ..it definitely has a political agenda behind it but let’s Just enjoy the show ..... if Shaan wants to make something which belongs to Pakistan he should by all means work at it....but can he find someone in history who actually belongs to Pakistan? Mr Prime minister why don’t you ask The Sword of Tipu Sultan which is more close to our history to be released in Pakistan ....may be because it was made in India not in Turkey .

    Amna you are right ... its better to ignore negativity... hassan you skipped 100 good coments and just focused on the bad ones .... ignore these and look at the good feedback you got ... i personally loved your review on ertugrul ... "keep a soft smile on your face like ertugrul" ☺
