    Awesome!!! This is the first video on the Drumbrute that has actually addressed it as a MIDI sequencer at all. Would love to see that a bit more in depth, but generally really nice, instructive video. Thanks so much for doing the work for all us nerds out here in TH-cam Land.

    • @Goth108
      @Goth108 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Tempest also isn't a drummachine, it's much more of a groovebox. Like an partly analogue grown up MC909 or something. Also the Tempest doesn't sound as naturally pleasing without putting some effort into it, I don't even like its basic sound.

    • @Goth108
      @Goth108 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And before anyone else jumps on that train: the Elektron devices aren't typical drummachines either, they are music production stations or grooveboxes too. Also I think the recent MFB drummachines sound a bit boring compared to others like this one.

    Looks like a nice bit of kit for those whom are into the making different rhythms (patterns). The sounds maybe not "original", as this machine covers the basic percussive sounds that work well together in dance genres of electronic music. But having the flexibility of the sequencer means the rhythms can be designed to evolve over time. Which will be comparably original as many house styles of music tend to have a comparably repeating 4/4 beat.

      +Pete Brown Yes, just pre ordered it. It has got so much stuff in this thing for that price. 17 analog voices, separate outs, and much more. A very complete sequencer. I have a DRM1 which sound great but no sequencer. Also waiting to get hold of a Deepmind 12, but it will probably take months, I want to have a good polysynth. Holding back on buying more eurorack stuff for now, since I have the make noise black and gold system, expensive stuff as you know but fun to use. This came as a suprise!

  • @davidhrivnak

    This seems a lot like Arturia's version of the MFB Tanzbär, but that's totally fine, and I don't think either makes the other redundant. I have a Tanzbär and love it in a major way, but I'm really looking forward to the simple immediacy of the Drum Brute's interface (and the nicer build quality).
    At first I thought the Drum Brute's snare and high hats sounded pretty bad, but somehow they're growing on me, and I actually love the clap sound.

    • @benjaminhennessy8050
      @benjaminhennessy8050 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      diezdiazgiant MFB Tanzbär is the superior analogue drum machine.

    • @keplerhughes4390
      @keplerhughes4390 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be cool, but the elektron analog rytm has distortion master effect and overdrive per voice, plus an insane sequencer, good effects, and most importantly sample playback.... Best drum machine ever made in my opinion and could be had for similar price as drumbrute + analog heat. But I will say this does look crazy good for the price and I'm considering getting one to use with modular to process it

    • @diezdiazgiant
      @diezdiazgiant 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      i said solid not superior. im not really a fan of this hierarchal supremacist thought process applied to stuff thats entirely subjective and more then that, liking one doesnt mean i have to dislike the other. i just think the 2 would be a fun pairing. i like how with the machinedrum the 16 sections are freely assignable to different synth engines and can make pretty wild digital sounding voices. heh its fun to mix and match...

    Hey @sonicstate
    As we have seen the TR-8 has the possibility of sending all the individual drum sounds simultaneously but yet separated to an DAW via the USB. So you get the ability to mix all the 11 individual tracks separately. This I find very handy and important.
    So, my question is: Does the Arturia have the same ability?
    Please respond.

    • @Heathcliff_hensel

      yeah you can use it to control any virtual instrument. Which is actually great because you may want to try out some real drum samples with the beats you just created. I just got got my drum brute a few days ago and have been using it with Battery 4 and Its really fun.

    Knob positions are not saved with the patterns so this means no kit storage available on this unit. No built in effects like delay & reverb. This machine is a little short on some standard drum machine features so probably not for me.
