    Mr. Batt, the thing I love most about your demos is how musical you always make them. Anyone can press a button, twiddle a knob, you rather, always do far more than that, you really make these instruments sing - which was their original intention, I'm sure. Thanks!

    I appreciate the deep dive into the SV1! I do enjoy the modular deep dive reviews as none of the local shops have the guts to actually have them here in the Midwest. In fact your review of Studio Electronics Boomstar modules drove me into a Sonicstate of temporary insanity and even helped to hypnotize the wife into getting me a system as a gift heheh! Great review as always.

    Would you recommend the Blackbox, Erebus or 0-coast as the intro to semi-modulars and then hopefully to Eurorack? The Blackbox sounds immense in all the videos but the Erebus has so much character (and it's the only one I actually spent time with) but the 0-coast while it seems like it would take time to get something out of it seems like it has the most possibilities sonically. Or maybe I should ditch all that and go for the Lyra8 which is by far one the most insane sounding thing I've ever heard but I don't think it integrates with eurorack at all.
    Thanks for the great videos!

    Can anyone help me with trying to replicate this drone? I bought this exact model (the original Pittsburgh Lifeforma SV-1 (not the B ver) and replicated all of Nick’s knob positions and patches, and when I try to play the drone shown in this video I get a very very high pitched version several octaves higher. I am using a keystep 32 + MIDI B TRS to 5 pin adapter so I can easily go down to the lowest octaves on the midi controller. Even at the lowest setting it is still very high with these positions

    Hi Nick, Hi Guys, im currently looking forward to buy sv-1 but in a eurorack version. What would you suggest to add to it as a complementary to small eurorack system? (im thinking like max 104 hp). What im looking for is achieving full, organic, warm tones, but also snappy plucky ones, and big bass (also bass with noise sequences)

    Anyone around here who has some good tutorials on using the BSP with Volcas? I'm mainly using those because of their portability but since I got the BSP I've barely used it because I'm mostly an idiot.

    • @andyq9669
      @andyq9669 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ja Kooistra you're not the only one, I need some RTFM time on that too, but of course you then miss out on the Volca motion sequencing. Getting them synced doesn't work by default either, and you can't make use of the polyphony of the Volca FM or paraphony on the Bass and Keys. Mapping to the Beats and Sample is another challenge on the agenda.... you'd hope they would make this easier....

    • @theothertonydutch
      @theothertonydutch 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This!!!!

    • @DougInfinity
      @DougInfinity 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AndyQ you can take advantage of the volca keys polyphony by using both sequencers of the bsp at once on the same midi channel. only two notes at a time, but still something to play with.

    • @andyq9669
      @andyq9669 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doh! didn't think of that. Must admit I only spent about 10 mins on the BSP when it first arrive and it's been gathering dust on top of a printer for 6 months. Lots of toys and no time to play....

  • @vaspers
    @vaspers 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really like this demo, but the constant quickly changing video angles is a bit annoying. The camera should just stick to viewing the synthesizer and sequencer from directly above so we can see how things are connected. The side view is of no value whatsoever.
