I own a ccople of FX's and is getting fedup with all the market add-ons you need to make the gun better. It is getting absurd, I have been testing some 177 slugs on my own channel, and the more I test the more I get peeved off with FX. I had a LW barrel made for the FX, it is beautiful, only 500mm but it shoots 100% better than any 177 FX barrel. (I have the 500mm and 600mm). The LW wins hands down, no need for add-ons, no need for tentioners as the barrel is solid. No drooping if you add a heavy silencer either. Barrel tensionners are more effective on higher calibers shooting higher power with more vibrations. On .177 you wont affect the harmonics that much since its very light recoil and vibrations anyway.
Hey Peter - thanks a lot for the video. The only way I can achieve tighter groups for my 177 Mk2 600mm plus the FX barrel tensioner kit - is to use the harmonic tuner in addition. By the way, I have used about 2000 NSA12.5g slugs through this combination from ca. 940 fps to 990 fps, and in the end concluded I couldn't make it work. Also couldn't get reasonable groups without the barrel tensioner kit. However using the NSA 15.0gr slugs plus tensioner kit plus harmonic tuner delivered OK groups. I LOVE that my gun has to be treated with care since I always take care of my stuff 🙂
@@VikingAirgunner Did you see the Epoch video?
30 cal 50.15 grain pellets at 850fps with 1400psi = 95 bar and rechargeable battery good for 50,000 to 100,000 shots.
Electronic trigger and programmable valve and reg. Amazing technology.
Will it work in the woods and jungle and rain where I hunt??? Their paint ball guns do...

@@stedyone1090 That sound really cool 😎
I will have to check it out 😃
The electronic setting of the gun seems Haarder and harder to get around. Cant say that Im a Daystate guy, but their system looks good! So I imagine other brands will follow.
@@VikingAirgunner Paintball here in the US is a huge market. SKOUT knows what they're doing. The rifle is about $2900 .
Shot count is crazy 🤪 high because it's so very efficient valve system.
What the best speed for slug 30gn?
Im only shooting .177 so I dont really have other than my TH-cam -knowledge on the other calibers. But I imagine that there are different Best speeds for different brands of slugs.
Maybe ask in one of the bigger groups on FB or find someone here on TH-cam who is shooting the same slugs 🙂
Hi Chanya,
Perhaps I can help you. Using a Standard superior liner 700mm on my M3 I get excellent results shooting H&N .218 30gr. Slugs.
MV 985 fps
Ist reg 165bar
2nd reg 135 bar
Valve adjuster just over 4 lines
Macro 8
Micro 4
Play around until you achieve 985 or 990. Sub MOA no problem.
Good luck

What a letdown. I was hoping for an improvement. I wonder why the stock config is superior.
I really wish that I could answer that. In my mind it should at least be the same as standard.
But I could imagine that there will be an effect if you shoot the heavier slugs 🤔
