Hi Peter , When I installed the carbon fiber sleeve on my 22 caliber I put a silicone grease between the barrel and the sleeve . My thoughts were to take up any slack between the two and act as a damper . That might reduce the noise you are hearing and may improve your groups . It’s worth a try to see the results .
I have a 700mm maverick that I purchased to be a dedicated slug gun. I was about to give up on the Maverick and slugs until Huma released their tensioning system. With a Fx 700-800mm barrel I now believe that a tensioner is essential. I went from 3" groups at 100 yards to sub moa with the right tune and slugs.
Regards from Czech. Rotate with bare barrel, twist it by 10 degree and shoot. It will make a circle than. Set it for 12 clock, find upper groupping. Than fixt it and complete barrel. This advice will push you in another limit of excatness...
When you tension the systeem with a certain tork number I takes some time before it is settled is my experience. After a while it is just a littel lower than first. I have a fx impact with a homemade system and 2 with the huma tension system. And for example my .35 shooting 68 grain fx hybrids shoots really smaller groups and when there is a high variation in speed the dispersion is mutch more high low than before. The the low speed shot could go higher and more to the site and the faster shot lower and to the other site. When testing difrent speeds the groups are mutch more on the same spot than before. I like it very mutch.
Hi Peter. Greetings from Portugal. With 700/800mm barrel i get good groupings with the shroud over the carbon fiber barrel. My mod is with the trs saber tactical rail with clamp only with the screws hand tight, and the shroud must have that conic part made with the carbon fiber OD. This mod works well with or without the trs sistem. The barrel became much rigid
Good question! 👍 A gun with the shroud can be tuned to be extremely accurate, but with the barrel tensioner the difference between a good and a bad tune is less 🤔 With the barrel tuner you can get some good results aswell but it takes lots of testing to get the right setting - I dont know if you have seen the video I made about the barrel tuner? So if Im to choose between the two Im going for the barrel tensioner if the weight of the slug is 16 gr + 🙂 Im still to test the combination of the two - but that might be an idea for a video 🤓😎
Hey buddy thanks for the video I have a question. So I was wondering if I bought the heavy slug liner to shoot slugs more accurately would I still get pretty decent accuracy from my JSB exact king pellets out of the heavy slug liner? I’ve got an m3 in 600mm. I mean obviously it’s not gonna give me the groups I’m getting with the stock liner but will it be good enough for hunting ?
I made a custom CF shroud to fit on top of the thinner CF shroud (bc I like the thicker looking barrel and it would have cut some noise as well) It was perfect EXCEPTTTT the air stripper inside my custom shroud grabbed the tension bolt too tightly and rather than just unscrewing itself from that tension bolt it unscrewed the tension bolt from the lock nut. So I had to destroy my CF shroud to get the tension bolt out of it.
It has a 1:18 twistrate. If you go back to my channel and watch the video with the 600 mm heavy liner you can see a picture of two slugs - one has been through the superior liner and one through the heavy liner. So the twist rate is the same but the heavy liner is tighter or has a more aggressive rifeling. Same in both 600 and 700 mm.
I ordered the polygon barrel like a year ago but havent heard anything yet, so for me it is not going to happen. And with the groups that I am shooting with the heavy liner it is not really nessecary to change into anything else 🤔
The shroud itself has a sound reducing effect, so when removing it you will get a louder gun. If you have a shrouded gun you can try to remove and you will be very surprised by the sound 😃 The tensioner system has no sound reduction.

Great! Nice to hear that there are more with the same experience 🤗
Feel good shooting sub MOA 😃

I agree I have to do thst with my gun its shooting to the left at the moment
Hey Peter.
Awesome to see the barrel tensioner working as it should 😎
Great video as always 💪
Kind regards from Uggelhuse 😊
Hello Uggelhuse 🌞
Was kinda excited to see the result but very happy that it is working 😎
See you buddy 🙂

I expect a lounder sound in next video.. Very good video sir

Hello, for you what give the best benefit between the barrel tensioner vs the barrel tuner? Thanks for your time 😉

tenho esse problema com a minha fx mkll sempre muda o ponto de impact
I wonder how the same projectiles would perform shot out of configuration 1 at the same speed as in configuration 2
I think that it can be made to perform better with some tweaking of the settings. Faster or slower.
Hi Peter; beautiful video like dab 😉👍✊
By what means does the barrel tensioner cause the report of the rifle to become louder?
You have to remove the shroud to instal the barrel tensioning system, shroud is a huge sound dampener.
Awesome video as usual 😎 now you need to put your shroud over your barrel tensioning system and you’ll have the final product!!!
Thanks buddy 🤗
Working on it full throttle 😃
Awesome video have you ever indexed your liner to see what is the most accurate thanks for sharing bsafe buddy 👍
Thanks Chris 🙂
I havent tried it yet but maybe I should give it a try 🤔

Hi man 🙂
I have so little experience with pellets so I have no idea 🤔
Why you are using single shoot ??
I had some slugs jamming up and got tired of it. Now I like the single shot better🙂

I had that happen to me aswell, but I managed to get the jam nut out 😃

Hello. Tell me 700 barrel, what kind of tivst does it have? I use google translate, if something is wrong, I'm sorry))

One time change the barrel polygon cal. 177 with a length of 60cm. How about the accuracy of the 100 meter distance, boss
I ordered the polygon barrel like a year ago but havent heard anything yet, so for me it is not going to happen. And with the groups that I am shooting with the heavy liner it is not really nessecary to change into anything else 🤔
I'm Indonesian, here a lot of polygon barrels have been replaced, dibubud has become od 14, only the rifle makes it heavier boss
Qual a distância?
100 m 🙂
Det er godt at høre at jeg ikke er den eneste som kan blive forbandet og så kommer der lidt sjove ord ud af munden. God weekend ven.👍
