    My parents are 20 years apart. The best part of being the child of an older parent is that my dad had more experience in life and in return was more wise. The hard part came later in life in my 20s when I realized that my dad is now in his mid 80s. I used to feel cheated of time with my dad but now I realize that the time I had/still have with my dad is priceless. He has been such an incredible life coach. The conversations I’ve had with my dad are so memorable because of the life experience he has had to back up his logic. Wish you both the best!

    i think age gap relationships work out really well when the older individual acts younger than their age, more childish in nature perhaps and the younger one acts wiser or more mature. usually when isee age gap relationships its that way or their both just really mature individuals and thats great too.

    My husband and I are 12 years apart. He’s 37 I’m 25. We argue take space and come back to fix the problem. Because constantly going on with the argument doesn’t help so we take a break just step into each other shoes to see each point and just try to fix it or end the argument. We have a child there’s no leaving or breaking up. We work hard for our life and marriage. So we’ll always try to fix it.

    Guys I completely understand you. With my boyfriend, we are also not fighting. We may have a discussion in a serious way and we are not agreeing with something. And as you say, the importance of honesty, in the beginning, means a lot. And we make sure that every day we show to each other a lot of love and respect, we support each other. Even if someone of us had a bad day, we are not stressing this on the other. We just remember that our relationship is the most important thing and that outside life should not affect us in any way. So we make a priority and we are constantly and subconsciously working for the better. Of course, we both are really stable and happy with ourselves in the first place. And for me, this is the relationship I never believed that it is possible to have, and now I have it and feel blessed that I met my boyfriend and can spend each day in so special way. This is perfection for me. And I am so happy to saw this video!

    I’ve started a relationship not that long ago that has a 19 year old age gap. I was never too fixated or worried about it at all, because we are so happy together it never really crosses my mind. But sometimes people around you worry out of love, and that can be discouraging at times. I’ve been following you for awhile now, but now I have another reason to watch your videos and it is that you are the first age gap couple that i feel I can relate to just because of your story and how chill you are with each other. Honestly, I feel like this woman could be the woman I spend the rest of my life with, and even though I’m 21, far from scaring me... it has never felt more right and at home. We are taking it step by step, doing what it feels right. I’m just thankful for these kinds of videos because it makes me feel like it’s actually possible to make it work and be happy together.

    The way Gary talks about how he “aggressively pursued” you in such a proud manner when you were just 19 and he was in his late 30s isn’t the most comfortable thing to hear... 🥴 I’m glad you are happy in your relationship but I don’t think this is something that he should be proudly promoting! It would be nice to hear him reflect on this and maybe acknowledge the unequal power dynamic there a bit more.

    I think my favourite part in this (which surprised me tbh), wasn't the part where Gary and Valeria mentioned the way they handle disagreements and the difference in pace because of their age difference, but actually was the part about the waterfall. So many people don't think about WHY they're really telling their children no in situations like that and especially don't seem to think about what it might teach their kids and how that might carry through into the rest of that child's life. I really learned a lot from watching this about how I want to handle things in my own life. I don't have children and I'm single at the moment but I know that being able to see/have role models for the traits you want to embody in life, the behaviours, learning styles and coping strategies, make it easier to put together an image of your future self with them already in play.
    It's easier to work towards manifesting those traits and behaviours within yourself and hold yourself to those values when you have the image of yourself with what that sounds, feels and looks like to you, in your head to hold you accountable. The more you can do so, the more you fall into what you're aiming to learn or cultivate with yourself and every aspect of your life.
    Thanks Valeria and Gary, I feel very lucky to have come across this channel all that time ago and to have been able to learn so much about the kind of woman I want to see myself becoming. I'm 26 right now but I feel no shame in saying that I'd like to be as capable and remarkable as the both of you as I grow up (although I hope that didn't sound cheesy XD).

    I think it's really wonderful seeing a lot more age gap relationships and people showing that they can and do work. It's very frustrating when the age is all people can see. I used to get a lot of flack because my boyfriend is 11 years older but he is honestly the greatest person I know and we're celebrating our 5 year anniversary this weekend! 💖. I think when it comes to relationships where there is an age gap people always assume there's some kind of Insidious reason behind it. I had a cousin asking "but...why?" When we first started going out. I felt like saying well why are you going out with your partner? We met, we happened to like each other and then we went out. Like everybody else. I just find it very hypocritical that we live in a society that constantly preaches 'Love is Love' but apparently that doesn't expand to two adults who just happen to be different ages. I guess it's the one "taboo" we still need to get over because honestly it isn't a bid deal and it makes me so happy seeing comments from other people in similar relationships and just spreading that love 💖💙

  • @Sarah_and_Finny
    @Sarah_and_Finny ปีที่แล้ว

    Not everyone is cut out to handle a large age gap relationship. But I believe the ones who can handle it are also mature enough to work through things like disagreements and other things that come with being in a relationship in general. If the two are serious about each other they can make it work and because they know they are mostly likely coming from different “worlds” so to speak they know they may need to put even more work into their relationship from the very beginning. Which is why they can be some of the best and strongest of couples because they understand what they want and know they are willing to pull through the tough times together.
