Don't forget parachute mode. Press X and you parachute and don't take fall damage. I don't think that this uses stamina, because I believe it's the default mode it goes into when it runs out of stamina in the other 2 modes.
It doesn't lose stamina and it actually slowly increases
How do you use the hover mode on Xbox?

Tip, if you press “X” while falling or flying it will turn into parachute!
Tamed a couple of these in my file. Probably one of my favorite shoulder tames besides the Bulbdog. If you have a Sinomacrops on your shoulder you never have to worry about ants. The scream pretty much insta-kills them.

57 54 are the safest coordinates to tame. Very small amount of predators and its an open field

There’s another thing they can do too. They can turn into a parachute when you’re in the air and click X
When you take off from a sprint and glide it automatically puts you into the speed/unstable glide mode. This is why you face plant when you take off sometimes. So if you take off from a sprint make sure you're higher up before going into glide mode.

I found a sinomacrops very early in the game, but it always ran away from me and it wouldn’t come back down. If anyone else has this issue I actually found crouching helps make them comfortable with you

You have to let it approach you. Let it fly away from you, only follow it when it gets 100 m away from you, pay attention to its food.
When it gets hungry, and then on the ground, approach it crouching. Don’t walk directly at it, you must be in range of it.

You can use torches and a wood sign to trap it and feed it but you can’t move as soon as you trap it
Glad you found them , still need to tame one myself ...
If you hold jump they make you actually fly up and they also give you a speed boost in water by flapping it's wings while your swimming
Question I'm brand new to the game and I was suggested this video playlist to learn, should I be watching this playlist from the very last video to the first and that order? Cuz it looks like this one was uploaded 13 days ago, while the next one was three months ago, and the very last one on the playlist for the first in order of the playlist is actually the hardest dinosaur in the game
Haven't tried it but it seems you could put a tent on top and trap it when it comes up to you(similar to how vultures are tamed)
If you put a tent or cage on it it cannot be tamed. It has to be without a trap

i found out if you lay down flat with chitin in your zero slot. soon you will have a lot of them circle you and you can pick and choose the level you want

Trap it by surrounding it with 6 torches and place a sign so that the edge of the is above it. Easy tame
Best way to tame these is on a raft. It will land on your raft phlinger. I have tamed tons.
Also forgot how it helps you swim faster by holding down A (on Xbox ) in water

I dont know the controls for PC but to activate parachute mode on xbox and I belive ps4 you just click and hold R3 for a second or two then release and boom parachute mode

I actually like this one.of the three new dinos,it's the only one I use really.the other two are kinda meh.the monkey is more or less a Transpo dino,and I personally use a rock Drake for that.and the other one is cool,but anything it does,I can find something that does it better.but the sinomacrops is on point lol.its a super backpack,glide suit,and anti bug and small critter device.
sinomacrops can fly like a tek chest plate, it also can glide or alternativly just scream

How do you get it off your back? I need to do it so i can fill it up with chitin.
I actually tamed mine relatively easy. I yransfered my character over from a server i was playing on. It said i wasnt allowed to transfer items, so when i got there, i grinded up a ton of chiten and tamed a ptera and flew all over the place til i found on. I had to make a raft because it kept flying over the water, and i died to a carno, but still, the taming part was pretty easy.
Did you mean altitude instead of velocity in the jump instruction?
They'll actually come up to you even without chitin in your bar. I tamed mine by staying still until landed and hopped up, and *then* putting chitin in my slot and feeding it.
Less chance they'll spook that way, as if they 'aggro' and try to approach while you're holding chitin, they spook if you so much as twitch.
I'm surprised nobody has figured out yet that the sinomacrops actualy has 3 fly modes not 2 it's a parachute mode

Sinomacrops can actually let you fly like a Tek Shirt, you just hold the jump button down. They'll keep flying up until they run out of stamina.

Personally I do stamina, health and weight.

Mainly stam, once you have a comfortable amount of stam, do weight or health

I hated that they were adding this thing after the voting controversy behind it. I hated that it was a shoulder pet. I understood that this didn't take another creatures place in the vote and that it was Wildcards creature choice. Now with that all out of the way, I'm surprised at this little thing, it is actually a very fun tame. I found that once it runs out of Stam it will stretch out its wings and parachute you down instead of you just dropping to your death. That being said there is no way this thing isn't getting a nerf in the future, it's flight ability is too good. Expect a harsher stamina drain or something in the near future.

Phoo, you left out the dive and parachute abilities.
Dont follow them. keep em at 50 - 150 meters way or they get scaed

Anyone know why they are just attacking me? When i didn't have chitin they ran away. Now i have chitin and as soon asthey see me they start attacking me

This is frustrating. I either get attacked by them (no chitin armor) or they come up to me and immediately fly away. Definitely don't like this as much as i hoped.
