Since this is a basics video: You can drag your torch over the saddle slot of your mount and have it attach to that, that way you can draw out your weapon while mounted and still be able to see in the darkness.
Another fun thing about Megalania is that unlike most other mounts, you can shoot behind you. Most of other dinos only allow you to turn 90 degrees to left or right if you're pointing your gun around, meaning you can run away from something and shoot that something at the same time.. Actually, I dunno if there are any other dinos that allow you to shoot behind you. EDIT: a bit late, but I have to add this.. shooting back was just a bug that happened, not a feature..
Farming the toxin is why i started using megalania, and i haven't looked back (because i dont want to see the mountain of dead offspring) I lucked out with a 850% shotgun and a 730% longneck, so i do the fighting and my "Komodo" does the tanking/running. But I've honestly never thought of using a parasaur to find them, that works brilliantly, i tamed my first megalania on a baryonyx scared shitless lol.

When I saw the dossier of the megalania i thought they are like twice the size of a player and vicious monsters. When I first encountered them on Ragnarok i was like "lol they are smol, and cute"
Just teamed one. You can find them outside caves on some maps. If you have a crab they can pick them up with the crab and shoot them as the crab hold them.

Ok so for the level 250 one, I had to use a crossbow with tranq darts; their torp drains so quickly that by the time I chased it down and reloaded, it was already ready to attack me again. Wasted 30 shocking tranqs on it…but only 17 tranq arrows using my ascend cross bow.
I’m now playing atlas and it’s much difficult solo playing than ark. Ark is much easier but then I found out that it’s best when you tame animals. Taming other Pirates don’t work for me. To travel I like to bring along tigers and lions and sharks to follow

Can you still bola them? Or did they change that? I was pretty low level on a new playthrough about a week ago, so I tried to bola one in that cave to get one early on, and the bolas just kept breaking on it. Says on the wiki you can, but I couldn't get them to work.
Thanks for awesome tips. Have one question. Everytime a tame/breed dinos all their levels go to food (have Rex lvl120 with 12k food, 6k health and 350% damage) Is there a way to prevent this, is this a bug or just really really bad luck??

@@ImpatientPlatypus Well, let’s see...The textures bug out a lot, the lighting and shadows are too bright and dark sometimes regardless of my gamma, pretty much all of the textures besides the Dinos are kinda lazy in the sense that everything looks like a picture uploaded from google being reused over and over, and the movement of certain things(fur, trees, bushes, etc) is incredibly awkward sooooo.... that’s how 😂😂 And yes, people still care about graphics. It’s an important part of what makes anything good. You wouldn’t wanna watch a movie that looks like it was filmed on a cheap cell phone, would you?
@@crescentblueee I play on console and besides like switch and mobile which probably run the worst out of all platforms its played on, only one I have ever ran into is the textures bugging. The gamma part might honestly just be how your gamma is adjusted, and I just can't see how the dinos are lazy, when each model itself probably took at least 5 days to render and make. Now to the point where I say people still care about graphics, you obviously took what I said way to literally. I get that graphics are still a good selling point for a game, but the most popular games out there are roblox and minecraft basically, and they aren't exactly spectacular looking.

Dont take my comment too seriously, okay? No video game is perfect, and I still play ark with my friends sometimes. Not trying to upset you, okay?

BanditoDorito679 they show up on the volcanic beach area to the north center of the map, as well as in caves and such like the island.
