Great point about not going out too hot. I've watched videos of other TH-camrs pacing races who were blasé about going at well over the required average pace at the start. Didn't seem to occur to them that doing so could well wipe out those they're meant to be pacing.
Exactly! I think even when going for a personal PB its so important to be careful at the start to not spike your HR - although I know some people do manage to do pretty well with the send it and hold on philosophy!
I've seen some people do pacing based on relative effort on hilly events by running faster on flatter or downhill sections so you can run a bit slower on the hills rather than doing even splits. Could work but think you've got to let people know so they trust you.
I'm currently running around 25 to 26 minutes, I have a PB of 24:09 but wanting to get down to 22 minutes. I am asthmatic aswell so it can be more challenging
@@CrownMyRun Thank you for the support, it really did help. I'm currently training for the Sheffield Half Marathon this year, did it last year and loved it, so signed up again.
D Mills. Us 20minute dreamers salute you.
The three Garys all one second apart love to see it
Oh yeah, I definitely would have commented on that if I noticed haha!
D. Mills bending space and time to help us mere mortals.
