- In this week's vlog, we head back to the house to get rid of the last of our things and finalize everything before the sale. We then decide to travel down to England to catch the last of the UK summer, as van life in Scotland has been depressing. Along the way, we experience our first crash, another breakdown, and accidentally go through a toll road, which leads to a fallout. We also meet up with my sister, Georgie, and her boyfriend, Duncan, for a fun trip to Thorpe Park, where we end up taking a shower in the car park! Afterwards, we head to a stunning campsite and almost can't fit through the entrance gate. Unfortunately, the rain follows us down to England - hope you enjoy!

BACKGROUND STORY
We're Michael and Fern, and this channel is to document our journey selling our house and living in an American RV. Tired of being stuck in jobs we hated, we decided it was time for a change. We started our own businesses, allowing us to work remotely. After a lot of personal and spiritual growth, we realised it was time to break free from the chains and live a little. Everyone waits until they are old or retired to do this and that makes no sense to us so here we go!

I suggested an Ecoflow Delta Pro and Ecoflow Alternator charger in a previous video for all your off grid power needs. This setup will also allow you to charge your battery by reversing the power from the Ecoflow delta Pro battery through the Ecoflow Alternator charger back into your battery so you will never be stranded again with a low battery. Hope this helps! Well worth the investment for living on the road. Best of luck 👍🏼
We have now got a power bank and are looking into Victron battery upgrades so hopefully we can get these fitted soon 🙌🏼

another great update guys! clear to see RV life is such a learning curve and has it's ups and downs, but i guess it is all apart of the adventure isn't it :) Hope the house goes through in sep and you guys are then free from the stress of all that rubbish (i've done it, and know how frustrating and expensive it can get) .. looking forward to the next update, take it easy and stay safe

Have you briefly mapped out an itinerary for where you are headed in europe? I can only imagine how incredible the swiss alps would be in an RV, certainly be breath taking.
Hi you 2 again as glad to see you both are injoying your trip as don't stress out to much but like you say it's best to change the batteries as feels that the batteries was not charging like it should but glad you are both injoying the camping as you was so brave to take on the rides as thank you for your last reply keep smiling and injoy the British weather lol

The house battery and the engine battery should be separate. On the dash there is normally a button that activates a relay to join the two together for emergency/booster start. If you have these, it may be that the relay is stuck and causing the engine battery to discharge.

If Scotland is terrible for van life. Probably the best thing to do and tell all the motorhome owners. And keep them away from the nice peaceful roads. And fantastic scenery. As the motorhome drivers are mostly inconsiderate to vehicles behind them etc etc.
Scotland is beautiful it’s just the weather that let’s it down! Unfortunately some people ruin it for everyone by not tidying after themselves
Thought I recognised The Courtyard in Lytchett Minster. Right next to the crematorium where my Mum is Lovely area.

@ToKnowFreedom 1000s are misled by that signage don't be hard on yourself. Now you know follow sign for M6 not M6 Toll. A warning for anyone else that's reading this. Great vlog by the way.

You’ll know next time, I take it all the time it’s easier to go go wrong South to North than North to South as you have to go across lanes
Better than jump leads ....have a look at the Noco portable starter packs. I have one for my van and it sits in the glove box ready.......so handy. I've helped other people more than I've used it myself 😂😂
Been meaning to look into these, is there a certain one or size you recommend?

@@ToKnowFreedom The Noco GB70 for example does up to 8L petrol and 6L diesel engines.
greetings from Ireland Guys get a bleeper fitted to the parking lights so when you turn off the engine it will bleep to remind you to turn off the lights

I know i have mentioned them before, but van blitz, will not only sort out all your security for the van, but also batteries, etc you didn’t mention why the rides at Thorpe park just closed on you whilst queuing 🎉

I think the rides close quite frequently because they have maintenance issues - we didn’t know how long it would take to fix so just decided to leave the queue and come back after!

My vehicle battery used to do that in my motorhome. For peace of mind just get a new heavy duty one. You won’t be on tenterhooks with it starting then. It’s a horrible feeling as I know
Yeah it’s very frustrating - we are doing leisure battery upgrades very soon so will hopefully get this done at the same time! 🙌🏼

Take a small battery or a genius starter pack to start the generator in case it happens again
We are hoping to get the batteries upgraded very soon but we need to get this regardless as it will be very useful for those situations!
Set your sat nav to toll free when in Europe otherwise you will be wishing it was only £16 😂 we payed on one section in france 60 euros plus for a 4.2 tonne motorhome.

Worth checking you've not been clocked for being in the car park too long. There may have been a camera on the entrance and exit taking your reg.
We had to pay for the parking which covered the full day 😊

I have a noco start pack it's the size of a block of butter but can start anything well worth buying one
You think that it would start the RV? If so do you recommend a certain model 🙏🏼
@@ToKnowFreedom yes noco boost 2000a they are made to start motorhome upto 8 litres, if yours is bigger they do bigger charge packs, you will get one under £200 they stay charged for months

You should get into the dealer you bought that off an claim some money back off him, you have rights an it seems like your doing repairs that may be part of a warranty, look into it before it expires. If its happening regular there could be something draining the batteries or the alternator could be at fault which would also come under a warranty good look 👍
The dealer has been great and covered the repair costs 🙌

The RV was colder than it would have been in a house as had a constant breeze circulating and the fans on full as well as the shades closed! Benefits of having an RV 😁 we also checked on them throughout the day
