The Necropolis, or the gravie as we called it, holds a very special place in my heart, but not for the reason you'd expect, I spent my entire childhood playing in it 😀 The tenement where I grew up (8 Firpark Terrace) had it's gable end built on top of the boundary wall, it was at the opposite of Tennants brewery from where you were standing at 7:00. There used to be a small forest there which was fantastic for playing in, we had a massive rope swing right next to the wall, we had a rope death slide, we used to boil eggs in the old flower urns from the dump, played hide'n'seek etc. That was until a friend decided to set fire to the bushes which in turn set the ground under the forested part on fire, it must've had a lot of combustible material dumped there, it killed off most the trees 👎

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in Glasgow but I remember quite a few top Indian restaurants were in the south side. The shezan in mount Florida, the alishan in Battlefield. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Nothing wrong with those places, I'm sure they'd be made very welcome anyway. People from the schemes are good people, aye there's a few wrong ones but on the whole they'd give you anything. Such a snobbish, stuck up comment.
Interesting fact about Glasgow traces back to 6th century AD when it was first inhabited. Yes we are part of Europe but no longer in the European Union.
Nice curry , wish you had two different ones but , hey ho , I’ve got the original Shish Mahal cook book it’s excellent . At the necropolis overlooking the brewery I was reminded of an uncle 2ho sadly drowned in a vat of fermenting beer after falling in , although he did get out twice to go to toilet .
The recipe was invented when a customer complained his chicken tikka was too dry so the chef combined a can of condensed tomato soup, fresh cream and some spices.

Did you know that a young 22 year old JFK, made his first public speech in Glasgow, at the Beresford Hotel on Sauchiehall Street in 1939. During the outbreak of the Second World War, he stood in for his father American Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy, after the Govan built ship the SS Athenia carrying American citizens bound for America, was sunk by a German U-boat hours into the conflict. The survivors and those injured were either hospitalised, or stayed in hotels throughout the city. JFK accompanied by Glasgow Lord Provost Patrick Dollan paid visit to those affected, reassuring them of safe passage back to America. A disaster fund was set up for the victims on behalf of the people of Glasgow, that American President Franklin D. Roosevelt and U.S. Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy thanked the people of Glasgow for their kind hospitality in their citizens hour of need.

Hi guys glad the curries were good 👍 love Dansak too( Dishes don’t always come with rice so much these days) so if you just had chicken tikka (the reddish colour you saw marinated on the chicken) it would be without the sauce. They are some amazing curry houses all over the UK 🇬🇧 😊It’s great you’re showing all parts of Scotland 🏴 albeit you can’t get to see everything in one day. It takes time to create all these vlogs.
@@callum9880 yes! Thanks for watching! We are trying to see as much of Scotland as possible☺️
The Necropolis is an amazing place. Three of my great-grandparents are buried there, and several other relatives.

So glad you enjoyed your visit. I've never been to that restaurant. Must try it with my better half (I'm local, she's American - next month she's been here longer than she was in the US.)
You definitely should try it! The service and food were both great! We had a great time in Glasgow!
Going to visit that restaurant soon

The best Indian restaurants are in Glasgow. No question about that.
The Malletsheugh... definitely the best ,almost in Glasgow just outside

Haha
Interesting fact about Glasgow traces back to 6th century AD when it was first inhabited. Yes we are part of Europe but no longer in the European Union.
Wee Willie Winkie is a Scottish nursery rhyme.

Guid ye likt oor aine Glesca. Hist ye back. (Good you liked Glasgow. Hurray back to visit.) There’s loads more you could see. I’d recommend a trip to the West End: Kelvingrove Museum & Art Galleries, the Hungarian, Glasgow University, Botanic Gardens, or just on the other side of the river; the Transport Museum, Scotland Street Museum, the Science Centre. A day’s really not enough time, but you’re welcome back anytime for another great Tikka Masala experience. If you’re driving up the coast & looking for meal ideas I’d recommend trying some fresh fish. Safe travels.

Glad you enjoyed my City
