Oh for sure people in like 2040 are gonna listen to a "top 100 songs from the 2000s" and comment shit like "why is today's music not like "Boom Boom Pow" the epitome of art and music"
I would actually highly recommend listening to Black Eyed Peas before they became poppy and especially before Fergie came onboard. They were a traditional 90s rap band like A Tribe Called Quest with very smooth instrumentals. Listen to Street Livin', Clap Your Hands & Say Goodbye.
I personally enjoy the 1st works from TBEP, even if they are not profound, but their beats, visuals and the way they presented themselves was funny and invites you to enjoy with others. Im just not going to pretend they are above better artist and musicians. I understand adum is mad im more in mood to hear a full album of black eyed peas that 1 album of goety. But i can do both.
@20:00 I was hearing"Believe me I will do bet~ let's forget the bed and start a new plan"
Like he was trying to tell her it wasn't just about sex.
I think the guy in the video is the guy from crazy town who did “butterfly”
Hate to defend fergie, but to be fair you can kind of make any song seem insane if you just play it and then do an impression of them. However its real hard to defend fergie ngl because my god if you go back to a lot of black eyed peas music, you start to realise she is a pretty weak singer, she doesn't have the pipes to be a pop diva
She is even annoying as hell. I can't stand her
If the black eyed peas try to copyright claim this video, fight back.
If gotye tries to copyright claim this video, let em. He deserves it.
I hate Black Eyed Peas for a much more shallow reason: they butchered “Misirlou” with “Pump It”
I just went on a road trip this last weekend, and my bf and I debated for at least an hour about whether the Gotye song is written from two different perspectives, or if that's just how it's performed. Two totally different interpretations, depending on how you look at it.
Absolute fucking banger that I have been completely obsessed with lately. I WILL check out his other tracks.
Can we talk about Eminem's "Puke" for a minute and how I feel compelled to scream the lyrics.
Adum should discuss bad music with Fantano, it would be awesome
Man id love for you to analyse songs more
Fergie - Worst rendition of the national anthem... EVER!!!!
Did anyone else play the Black Eyed Peas version of The Sims??? It was called like the Urbs sims in the city and I completely forgot about it until now
26:54 I love how Adum cuts Gotye off right as he says not to.
"Now you want me to come back, you must be smoking crack..."... damn, that was so gooood 😊
12:58 Yes, this is Lynchian, they're in the Cash Money Lodge and if your relationship isn't pure then it will be utterly annihilated.
@10:00 Eminem is a master of the dramatic relationship/narrative type songs, w/ _Kim_ & _Stan,_ but 2pac was the OG w/those emotional narrative tracks. Some great 1s from Pac are _Brenda's got a Baby, Shorty wanna be a Thug, Don't Ya Trust Me?_ ft. Dido. Outkast & Slick Rick both have some great 1s too, specifically _Tha Art of Storytellin'._ 1 more modern recent 1 that i absolutely love is Rittz ft Yelawolf - _Sleep at Night._ Yelawolf has a lot of them too now that i think about it, _Tennesee Love_ being another banger in that same style that I adore.
*Edit:* NF is another of my more recent favorites, whom also has a ton of great narrative style songs as well.
Bro, as much as I respect your opinions and criticisms. Really nobody pays as much attention to progressions and notes etc as much as you think they do.
I've been into music for a long time and for me personally it's all about expression and catharsis in music. Structure and correctness in technique or whatever is little to no value to me unless it's terribly obvious how bad it is that even someone that knows nothing about music can notice.
I feel like you're a little too picky and critical when it comes to music, it's all about feeling as far as I'm concerned.
Can you do an analysis on Sweet Nothing by Calvin Harris ft. Florence Welch. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that one
