In so much of this video Adum sounds like a teacher, and I get it now. Every teacher I ever had sounded fucking exhausted, probably because they had to explain the same shit over and over to people who didn't want to hear it

The fact that Joe makes a claim, goes to fact check it with an article, then steps away from the whole conversation when he realizes he’ll contradict and prove himself wrong if he keeps going is enough for me not to trust what he says and take everything with a grain of salt
Even if he didn’t do it on purpose, it still shows that his process of fact-checking is flawed and shouldn’t be trusted

Portraying someone (mostly someone who is seen as "the enemy") as "all powerful but at the same time incompetent" is actually fascism 101 and is identified as one of the general properties of fascist ideology by Umberto Eco in his 1995 essay _Ur-Fascism_ - "by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak."

Most of them are rich dickheads that have a hidden motive, or even multiple motives. Some of them just stoke chaos. It's stupid to see America so divided over " My party's color is red. I got the J&J vaccine first and then a booster, so I've only gotten two shots. The first shot I had a bad reaction and was literally lying on the floor for like 15 minutes before my blood pressure got up high enough to walk out to my car. I've had reactions like that before, so I knew exactly what it was and wasn't scared by it. If I HADN'T had a reaction like that in the past, I can see myself panicking, making it worse, and being taken to the hospital to make sure it wasn't a reaction to the vaccine.

I can make a claim with no evidence, then my opponent makes a claim; all I have to do is say "how do you know that?" and I instantly have the upper hand. The burden of evidence is now on them and I don't have to explain myself until much later, if at all. Now she just stopped talking to me. IDK if she's mad at me or not because of my reply, but I don't want to ruin my friendship with her. Adumbuddies what do?
My reply: While I agree freedom of choice is important, in this instance that choice impact's other's right to life.

Ask your friend if they think it's tyranny that the law forces them to wear seat belts. If they say yes, they've probably already gone off the deep end. If they're not sure, remind them that getting vaccinated not only protects them, but also the people they come in contact with as the amount of time it remains in their system is going to be shorter, as will the amount of time they can spread it. The last thing anyone wants is to learn they accidentally killed somebody by giving Covid to somebody who was vulnerable.

A lot of places, especially in the US (and soon to be Canada) are lifting PPE restrictions and next to nobody wears masks in those areas.

Well that's an absolute statement if I ever saw one... and a very misinformed one at that, evidence by the fact that you think that "If you don't come into contact with anyone with covid you can't catch covid.", another categorically false statement. COVID-19 can live on dry surfaces for up to three days, which means something as simple as handling money can theoretically get you sick. So unless you retort by saying "I ONLY pay with my credit card and/or online only", then you've already put yourself at risk.
Also, if you work with the public, such as- oh I don't know- a medical facility maybe, then you are coming in contact with hundreds of strangers, some of which could have COVID and you just don't know it, so to just say 'Avoid people with the disease' is just... not a realistic answer?
Based on your logic, the ONLY way to to avoid COVID is to work from home, order everything online and have it all be delivered to your doorstep, and otherwise never take a step outside of your home ever; and based on facts, those packages would have to be delivered by exclusively fully vaccinated individuals so your pizza delivery food doesn't come with a free side of COVID.

The risk for myocarditis is extremely low. Also if you aren't putting a lot of strain on that heart one week after the shot, like your doctor will tell you, it's extremely likely to heal without any lasting damage. As far as side effects of medicine go, the COVID vaccine is one of the safest things out there.

The myocarditis numbers are so low they would never have been discovered if we hadn't vaccinated hundreds of millions of people in a short amount of time. It's likely that most vaccines have similar side effects, as they are an overreaction of your immune system.
Also the COVID vaccines are more effective by light years than vaccines against the flu, also safer. Two years ago we thought we would be lucky if we'd get something more than 50% effectiveness in such a short time frame. The mRNA COVID vaccines are 95% effective against the strain they were designed for.

It's fairly safe and effective, and worth it from a cost/benefit analysis but I do think it's inaccurate to say "it's one of the safest things out there". Compared to most vaccines given to children the safety profile is a bit worse and the efficacy profile is much worse. Doesn't mean you shouldn't get it, but we should be honest about such things. If you get the Measles vaccine, you are not going to catch and die of measles, if you get the covid vaccine you can still catch and die of covid but it's way less likely.
