So this guy sent a small amount of points, a cheque for the rest (still quite a lot of money), and an order form requesting the jet. Pepsi refused.

So the harrier jet thing. It was Pepsi. Basically you could collect "Pepsi points" by buying Pepsi products, and redeem them for things like a Pepsi t-shirt. The advert mentioned you could buy a harrier jet for 7,000,000. There was also a thing where, if you already had a certain (very small) amount of points, you could just send money to cover the difference, if you really wanted an item from the catalogue. I think it was 10 cents per point, so it would make the jet only cost $700,000, a bargain. So this guy sent a small amount of points, a cheque for the rest (still quite a lot of money), and an order form requesting the jet. Pepsi refused.
