shame we wont see anymore fox engine, the money, the man hours that went into the development of fox engine. sure mgsv paid every single penny for it but this could have banked so much more money from such a robust tool. rip big boss F

Too bad that Hideki Hayakawa is such a pos and systematically removed Kojima from everything til there was no trace left that he was ever working there.

@@AenemicTOOL technically yes because in the phantom pain, if you get the secret ending, you find out that the real big boss was actually Ishmael from the intro and was picked up by ocelot to fight cypher alone and venom snake is a random combat medic that was brainwashed so that the real snake could operate in the shadows

I fucking loved this game even though it's basically just a bonus mission and imo should have been the first mission in the phantom pain or at least have been a little bit longer I really enjoyed it either way

I think you were meant to play this mission after rescuing Kaz in the Phantom Pain.
I didn't really enjoy ground zeros or phantom pain. It's just the anoying stuff that make it flawed in my opinion, like the fact sometimes enemies can see you through walls or some dude from the other side of the map sees you and you litrally can't do anything. I don't really know why I'm typing this or in specific, repling to you with this, I guess it's so I can tell someone this. TL;DR (it's alright but me personally wouldn't really ever want to try and 100% the game neather replay it to often but it's an alright game).

I loved how dark it was compared to the rest of the saga.
8:53 I love that unlike previous games, you can enjoy the cinematics as you inform yourself of the mission, instead of seeing one thing first and just when you get excited to start playing you have a conversation with the codec. Makes it more dynamic. And the background music accompanies very well to put you in the shoes of Snake.

mgs 1 epic opening and what about mgs 3 snake eater? the world first HALO jump... Epicenes and the Heroic spirit are truly amplified in this franchise.

You're not Big Boss but his phantom, there probably would've been more character development if Konami hadn't rushed the game out of production, then its director out of the door, we really got a meal barely half-ready from a chef who was just thrown out of restaurant.
It really should have been reattached to TPP in the so called "Definitive Edition".

Dustin Harvey totally agree. Ground zeroes gave me more vibes than the whole Phantom Pain. Maybe it matches only the prologue, that one was pure gold too.

Literally after Peace Walker he rejects the name of “Naked Snake” and even The Boss and finally accepts “Big Boss” as his true title. But they just completely ignore that in MGSV for some reason

I wish they kept David Hayter for this game. Then, when we heard a different voice in Phantom Pain, it would have a greater impact on the narrative.
would have been really cool just for hearing david hayter again, but at the same time that would make phantom pain's biggest plot reveal way more obvious/predictable

Ground Zeroes was better than Phantom Pain, for me. Phantom Pain was fun and there was more to do, but in terms of Metal Gear, I look back fondly on Ground Zeroes than I do Phantom Pain. The perfect blend of cinema, game play, atmosphere and emotion. When I think of Phantom Pain, I think of open, empty areas with nothing particularly interesting. Nature. Loose-ends. And cutscenes that look cool, but didn't have much impact. Nothing really "big" happens in TPP. Nothing that left me feeling like "whoa" for years to come. The hospital part was the closest thing, but after that, the game settled into the tone that would persist for the rest of the game.

The only part of the map I like was the jungle because I felt playing MGS3 again. Kojima should have used only one map with less missions.
I agree 100 percent. Ground zeroes is way more metal gear than phantom pain. Phantom pain was an ordinary action adventure with a metal gear skin. Ground zeroes had the cinematic, guantanamo bay imagery, epilogue feel towards peace walker, and even though its tiny it had a great plot compared everything that happened in phantom pain. NOTHING happened in phantom pain that changed the way we looked at big boss in the series or the snake twins or otacon's dad.
Yeah, I agree, TPP is by no means an awful game, but GZ just hits different, it hits that sweet spot, if anything, I think the open world stuff should've been a secondary gamemode in which we take control of Venom Snake, while in the primary gamemode (One map/region where all the big stuff happens while the rest is kept for resource gathering and Side-OPS) we take control of the REAL BB, we just don't know the difference yet, then again, we ARE in control of a fake Big Boss, so it'd only be fitting that the game feels like a fake Metal Gear, not bad, just fake, story-wise, I thought Skullface was an awful villain, he does so much horrible things and at the end of the day you just don't even understand the guy's motives, his whole schtick is revenge, but BB never even knew of the guy's existance up until after he woke up from the coma, and he even says that he doesn't hate BB, but he still goes and does what he does anyways, I may have misunderstood him, but then the game should've transmitted us his motives in a better way, just like with The Patriots Ai and The Boss.

man, playing tpp made me wish for an opening like this instead of crawling through a hospital for 15 minutes.
As much as I love mgs1 and the earlier game this game and phantom pain will always remain my favourite because it has great characters and great storyline even though it’s not as good as the earlier games but the graphics added on adds so much and snake looks so realistic and I know it’s 2021 and the ps5 is out and the quality is even more shocking but this is still crazy for me how it went from not even being able to aim a gun in first person and not being I able too see snakes face too seeing every little detail and wrinkle, it’s insane too me, plus I have t even got the ps5 yet, I also hope they bring out phantom pain and ground zeroes on os5 maybe Kojima and Konami can make deal and plus Konami own the game anyway, I know Kojami is the the original creator but Konami own the rights too it, You may be thinking that there attempt at making metal gear was rubbish without kojima but not if they bring this game into the ps5 because it’s already been created, I also hope they make up maybe they can bring out mgs6 I would love to see more of future events after mgs4 and maybe some more from the older storyline times, I also heard there bringing out a MGS movie, I would pay loads too see that, who know they might even make a film series out of it

The more I watch this intro the more I'm convinced that Chico and Paz supposed to have much bigger roles in The Phantom Pain. Chico even was meant to make an appearance in Phantom Pain but they left the idea. Paz cutscenes in PP are made to be just a secret but man... they're one of the best things in the game. All this + deleted ending makes PP even more empty game for me. Peace Walker made hell of a character development. And they just put all of this to wastebasket later. Not only Chico and Paz but Amanda, Cecile and Strangelove too. There were so many cool characters...

@@Przem723 The cutscenes aren’t in the game’s files. Konami are the ones who put out the cutscenes in an exclusive BlueRay disc that was included with a collector’s edition of MGSV. According the leaked design document, the mission was intended to be post game dlc that was scrapped.

Lest you all forget, "Big Boss" is just a title given by the US president. Names such as 'Naked' and 'Venom' Snake are codenames that were never intended to superimpose the title of Big Boss. Don't call me an edgelord but I can bet your ass you never even played both the original 2D Metal Gear games, especially the first one where the antagonist there was also the lead char in TPP. That means the same guy who runs the show at TPP was also the same guy who was ordering Solid Snake to execute Operation Intrude in the first ever Metal Gear game, which of course is named _Metal Gear._ Kaz and Ocelot won't scream "Snake!" every time he dies for no proper reason at all.
Also, the dude in TPP? He was following the GZ Big Boss' orders to continue mimicking him as he furthers his plans towards 'Outer Heaven' and to distract Solid Snake from getting to him (MG Solid Snake). So effectively there are already two Big Bosses in the entirety of Metal Gear. However, the copycat was also the first to come and go in the first ever MG game, the 2D original.
My honest opinion? Hating on the TPP Big Boss is an insult to the ancestor of the game series, the one which started this all.
So just enjoy the game, dammit! You won't lose your shit if you play it anyway.
The game plays too damn good to be mad at that anyway, honestly.

I watched whole entire video (Without subtitles) I own Metal Gear Solid Ground Zero Tactical Espionage Operations for 1 console (system) PlayStation 4 (P.S.4) I did all takedowns (all combat & stealth environment, interogation) my opinion PlayStation 4 needs free cloud storage I luv updates (bugs & glitches fix improvements like manual saves Reasons I hate autosave only u can mes up I mes up tons times on tons games) reasons I hate bugs & glitches I start over on begining tons times on tons games (I hate restarting over on begining I don't recall deleting Metal Gear Ground Zero I restarted over believe I put on cloud storage won't let me check no PlayStation Plus too expensive renew).

I haven't played TPP yet, but GZ was seriously underwhelming for me. Sure, it's a cool game, but it just doesn't feel like Metal Gear. There's no familiar elements like cardboard boxes, the detection sound, confrontations with the big bad guy, etc. And Snake's voice sounds just out of place. So many people say Keifer was a good pick, but when he's talking, I don't hear a grizzled veteran crawling through heavy rain. I hear a disinterested guy sitting in a room, reading lines.
But the cutscene is impressive, Snake.
there’s boxes, detection noises and bad guy confrontations in the phantom pain, it’s clear they put all their effort into gameplay over story though which helped and hurt the game
This guy has no clue of what he is talking about, Groud Zeroes is what Metal gear should have been all the time, it was nearly perfect. Sure some nostalgic things are missing but that is just due to nostalgia(different voices and sounds) look at it as a stand-alone game, or preview to a game that never came out.
