Honestly, you probably should’ve used Swords Dance on the healing turns, especially since you could at least guarantee a lot of damage on Arcanine before inevitably going down since you wouldn’t be in ExtremeSpeed range. Alternatively, another thing you could’ve done was switch to Venomoth on the Rock Tomb since your Speed wouldn’t be lowered, and you could guarantee the Giga Drain KO. This would leave Parasect alive to Spore the Alakazam.
@@FlygonHG I just put it into a calculator, and even with a Defense IV of 0 at your level, Rock Tomb wouldn’t KO outside of a crit. *Lvl 59 0 Atk Rhydon Rock Tomb vs. Lvl 61 0 HP / 0 Def Venomoth: 147-174 (84 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO*
@@FlygonHG Finally, I want to compare the odds of each scenario playing out. *Switching to Parasect after the sleep turn.* 1/4 chance of Rhydon waking up on that turn 4/5 chance of landing Rock Tomb 15/16 chance of no crit 4/5 chance of landing Rock Tomb again after outspeeding. 1/4 * 15/16 * 4/5 * 4/5 = 240/1600 = 3/20 = 15% There’s also the extra 1.25% chance of Rock Tomb critting, bringing the odds up to just above 16%. *Switching to Venomoth after the sleep turn* 1/4 chance of Rhydon waking up. 4/5 chance of hitting Rock Tomb (won’t lower Speed because of Shield Dust) 1/16 chance of crit 1/4 * 4/5 * 1/16 = 4/320 = 1/80 = 1.25%
@UCeevOkOum6Oj44lVZQdzaCg Okay, I did make one mistake with the first calc (and, by extension, the probability following, as it assumed Rock Tomb not KOing outside of a crit). I assumed a perfect HP IV, and any IV lower would leave you open to a KO, so you may have been right all along.
I would love to see a Gen V+ bug run. As long as you have Galvantula. That's what matters. I also had a lot of fun just recently doing a Poison-only run in Sword.
Good work on this run! Must've been tough with the way run 2 ended. Ultra sun/moon are great for bug-type only playthroughs - hideously difficult, even without nuzlocking, but you get a fantastic variety of typings (volcarona, araquanid, vikavolt, ribombee). I think it would be really interesting to see done as a buglocke.

@WeedleTwineedle I didn't know you watch FlygonHG! I sometimes forget the content creators are normal people like me who like watching other people. I love your videos Weedle ❤❤❤
@@Gordo123415 your pfp seems familiar
Sword and Shield is good for bug types. There's a good number of them and they're half decent but at the same time it's not a cakewalk thanks to the third gym and Leon's charizard
Crustle gets Stealth Rocks though, so I doubt even those would be an issue
this madman went through the whole game again.
Damn, bug types sure is an interesting/risky one, even the slightest mistake can cause you the whole run.
But I guess, they're still cool and the satisfaction of sweeping the run with bug types must've been amazing.
I'd really like to see, a Gen 4 or Gen 5 bug type run.
I WHEEZED at that "joke" about academics into "I call it determination". I put joke in quotes because of the deep seated wounds it poked within me lol. Incredible stuff.
if you mean by "later" gens the 3d games, gen 7 would be cool because it introduced some pretty neat bugs like golisopod with its emergency exit, araquanid who gets 3x water type stab, and vikavolt who is just vikavolt
Mono bug's a great challenge type (in ultra sun, at least.)
"As thanks I blow a hole in his building with my mushroom zombie" best out of context Flygon ever
man it's notable how much more effort you are able to put into your videos with the time you got now. congrats, super happy for you!
I actually did this too and did 7 gyms before just stopping fsr. Butter free with speed evs + sleep powder + dream eater + sub is amazing
add giga drain too
Speed evs+sleep powder for me
I always found it weird how bug type isnt the strongest. The creator of pokemon literally created it because had an obsession with bugs and catching them lol
Who the fuck calls it "Arca-nee-nay?"
that education moment was too real lmao, but what a fun watch! These are honestly so soothing to watch.
Should have used a generic exception handler to handle these bugs....
Great content Dr. FlygonHG!!
I don't know, birdman seemed to have a pretty good debugger at the end
Gonna update my CV with title "bug-catcher"
Everybody dunks on Onix and they're not wrong to do so; but when I was a little kid playing Red for the first time Brock's Onix _annihilated_ me with Bide because I didn't know what it did and I had gotten him from full to low while it was active.
I would've loved to see this in B&W that gen has the coolest bug types
I've done a bug only run on B2W2 before, Crustle is such an mvp in that run, same with Leavanny!
galvantula my beloved
INCREDIBLE! Local Child DESTROYS Elite Four with FACTS and LOGIC. And BUGS.
Joking around of course. But thank you for the video! I'm glad there are TH-camrs like you doing what you do.
I tried this a couple times and just gave up when I realized Brock has Rock tomb in this game. I am weak

every Arcaneenay made me just flinch
You know what they say about the elite four: "We don't talk about Bruno-no-no-no"
You're an absolute machine man. You were the one who got me into Nuzlocke content so I appreciate all the work you put in! I'm nowhere close to actually being able to finish one, but it's fun to watch the pros do their work haha.
Yeah I was looking for this comment. Why not even 1 swordsdance to ensure the damn kill instead of 3 25% rolls 🙈
@@FlygonHG Are you sure about the second one? Did you do a calc to make sure that was true?
@@FlygonHG I just put it into a calculator, and even with a Defense IV of 0 at your level, Rock Tomb wouldn’t KO outside of a crit.
*Lvl 59 0 Atk Rhydon Rock Tomb vs. Lvl 61 0 HP / 0 Def Venomoth: 147-174 (84 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO*
@@FlygonHG Finally, I want to compare the odds of each scenario playing out.
*Switching to Parasect after the sleep turn.*
1/4 chance of Rhydon waking up on that turn
4/5 chance of landing Rock Tomb
15/16 chance of no crit
4/5 chance of landing Rock Tomb again after outspeeding.
1/4 * 15/16 * 4/5 * 4/5 = 240/1600 = 3/20 = 15%
There’s also the extra 1.25% chance of Rock Tomb critting, bringing the odds up to just above 16%.
*Switching to Venomoth after the sleep turn*
1/4 chance of Rhydon waking up.
4/5 chance of hitting Rock Tomb (won’t lower Speed because of Shield Dust)
1/16 chance of crit
1/4 * 4/5 * 1/16 = 4/320 = 1/80 = 1.25%
@UCeevOkOum6Oj44lVZQdzaCg Okay, I did make one mistake with the first calc (and, by extension, the probability following, as it assumed Rock Tomb not KOing outside of a crit). I assumed a perfect HP IV, and any IV lower would leave you open to a KO, so you may have been right all along.
I think a Gen 7 bug type nuzlocke would be neat! Lots of options, as well as team skull leader Guzma being an actually challenging bug type trainer.
I would love to see a Gen V+ bug run.
As long as you have Galvantula. That's what matters.
I also had a lot of fun just recently doing a Poison-only run in Sword.
Gotta respect a man that goes though a pokemon game with only arguably the worst bugs in the game.always great videos. Keep it up!
Arca nine not arcinineh
13:05 IM SPEECHLESS.... this guy's humor blew me off ☠️
It's brave to use a type that's weak to the title of the game you're playing.
May I make a suggestion for an easy 1?
Pokemon R/S/E with single form pokemon. This can give some love to the other single form poke.on besides absol and Sableye
This run is AWESOME. Not only randomly use attacking move sets, but you also manage to set up non-attacking move strategies. Good job
It's ar-cane-nine. Like Arcane and canine. This was so hard to listen to.
I love how he pronounces the word 'arcanine' ahahaha
Hearing you say arca-knee-nay was so hard to listen to, that’s not how you say it 😫
Just to make sure every one understands: The names are errors you can get while coding: Compile error, Logic error, Syntax Error, Runtime Error, Symantic Error (similar to Logic error).
Give this man his 200K subs.
It's a very small detail but I really appreciate you using proper pronouns for each Pokemon, it drives me nuts when people just default to 'he' even if the Pokemon is female. Plus as a nonbinary person it's nice to hear 'they' being used so casually
Same here, bud.
Headcannon: _Old Man Viridian is _*_a fruad._*_ That Weedle is his Pokemon and he's pulling an elaborate stunt with it to trick new trainers._
25:50 You just said the most real sh*t I have ever heard in a Pokémon run! Great video man!
At first I thought that I had missed one hardcore nuzlocke but THEN I SAW: New video.

Nice twist at the end with the run back. I always look forward to youe videos, there's always a laugh to be had and something exciting to look forward to. You really never know what might happen (yes, this is exactly about you getting Pokémon killed to random trainers. We love you for it.)
Homie said “ laprah “ and “ arcanin’e “💀😂
I love your humor and your videos.
Because of your dedication and honestly in your nuzlockes is why you are my favourite youtuber

Do you really need a stick to beat up an old lady? SAVAGE, just savage. 😂
First channel that after watching one video I subscribed to. Loved it man. Learned a lot from this run. Been trying to get into nuzlocking and this video gave me a lot of insight on how to build a winning strategy.
Gen v would be a cool bug lock! I’ve always liked some of the certain bug Pokémon there and there’s definitely a lot more versatility
