- Can I beat Pokémon Sun with only Pink Pokémon using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pink Pokémon on each route
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Looked it up and yup that's viable! hgss gives access to seven pokemon in the Serpentine body category, most of which can be obtained early game (and provided you allow the slugma egg) so I actually would be interested to see that. I know how much he just loves nuzlockes of that game.

Not to mention most fish pokemon are up for grabs as fins are not legs. And pokemon that levitate and don't have any appendages like geodude, voltorb, the muk family, the weezing family, magnemite family. Viable in most gens.

@@yannickgrignon2473 The only magnemite like pokemon that has legs is Sandy Shocks. He walks on the magnets. So i believe the magnemite line has evolved past the need to have magnet legs.

I did like the color aspect. Makes it different from mono type runs. Adds a certain theme. Those can be nice. And yes a bit of overleveling is kinda impossible to stop. That can happen. the exp share is also a bit broken in those games. It´s easy to overlevel just by fighting some trainers.
great to see some Lurantis love, I am a fan of it. used it in a playthrough once because I got crazy lucky and ran into a shiny one on total accident, currently the only wild shiny I've ever found.

I absolutly loved this challenge I sometimes do some nuzlocks alongside friends and none of us had ever tought of this an are absolutly planning on trying this ourselves i hope to see more of this kind of challenge
Your funny little rant about cherishing the memories of someone who is in your life for a short time hit kinda hard.
Had an online friend of mine go off the radar completely for nearly two months now, after he told me he had a bad headache. He hasn't been online anywhere, and he's the kind of guy who'd let me know when he needs a break or something. I just wish he'd come back frankly. I don't wanna think about what might have happened to him.
I believe he is dead. And just before NYE, and just before I was about tell him how much I love him. I was too late, and I will always regret never actually cherishing the memories I made with him.
Really enjoyed the mono-colored Pokémon run, especially the elite four and champion battle.
It’s interesting and creative; to see what Pokémon you’ll be able to use and how one has to work with that they have.

Love the video, and really fitting theme too with the holiday theme. Though after listening to your pronunciation of certain pokemon....I'd honestly love to see a video where you read every single pokemon like that. Would be a nice mix of funny and painful for sure.

I definitely know how good Corsola can be, it's actually got some great resistances, decent bulk, and some helpful moves.
i love that the final two were Blissey, one of the most overpowered Gen 2 pokemon of all time, and Corsola, one of the Gen 2 Pokemon

Corsola is truly underrespected. It doesn't hit super hard, but it has reliable enough defenses to get the job done.
Nice to see Miltank get some spotlight in one of these, and living up to her name at that. Also, the beastliest Corsola I ever did see.

Ugh, that Lurantis completely murdered me when I tried to hardcore nuzlocke this game. Having it call Trumbeak would've been nice, but nooo, that damn thing called a Castform with Sunny Day so it could just spam Solar Blade and heal for more with Synthesis. And I'd love to say that I came back and beat it the next time, but I play it on my actual 3DS and I absolutely cannot bring myself to sit through the beginning of the game again. It's just such a slog. Which is too bad, because I like the challenges presented and the unique style of the game. Alola was a fantastic region. It's just the mandatory cutscenes that I can't keep sitting through whenever I lose.
I would love more "Color" teams
I want to see an Ultra Sun Cereal Mascot Challenge. Choose Litten as the starter, name it Tony, get a Zubat named Count Chocula, a Rockruff named Chip, a Buneary named Trix, a Cutiefly named Buzz, an Oricorio named Sonny, a Minior named Raisin Bran, a Sableye named Lucky, a Ghastly named Boo-Berry, and a Dhelmise named Captain Crunch.

the way you pronounce magnemite has me in stitches.. it has the same energy as the mispronounciation my friend made after we watched the transformers movies.. instead of Sideswipe he called him Soundwipe 😂
The Pokédex colors are kinda weird, there’s no orange category so all the orange Pokémon are put into red or brown, and there are some VERY questionable placements. For example, Dialga, which is almost entirely blue, is in white for some reason. Fennekin is in red despite being almost entirely yellow. What’s worse is that before Gen VII, Pokémon with more than one form were only classed as one color, so the blue Gastrodon was classified as the already questionable purple. I could go on about these, but MandJTV has a pretty comprehensive video looking at every Pokédex color and pointing out some of the more questionable ones.

I feel like most gen 7 challenges are more interesting in USUM, because access to BP grinding for move tutors and items at the Battle Royale place gives you a lot more options for strategizing. I recently did a hardcore Water monolocke of Ultra Moon, and it was actually quite fun, despite being super long and fairly difficult.
also should've shiny hunted for zubat since shiny crobat is pink, I got a full odds shiny zubat in that water type run but obv I couldn't use it :/

No matter how many times I hear Dr. Flygon's purposeful mispronunciations, they're always funny.
Would be super cool to see more color challenges with allowing for shinies of that color, especially in some of these games it's feasible to shiny hunt without TOO much pain (sos, hoard battles, etc) which might add some interesting additional encounters at the cost of the massive nuissance of trying to find them

I envisioned something like this called a Pridelocke, which was forcing your team to consist of only one from each of red, brown (orange), yellow, green, blue, and purple mons. I'm building an egglocke for this, though, as it'd be pretty time consuming to find a game that could facilitate a run of it.
I like colorlockes, though. Same basic premise behind typelockes, but with more opportunities for unique encounters.

I enjoyed the mono-color. Partially because I sort of know which Pokémon types are available in each game. Like ground gen 4 “oh garchomp is available” easy win. But if you say orange in gen 6 I’m like “uuh pumpkeboo?? Idk is it possible?”.

He wouldn't. The color of a pokemon had nothing to do with the color that it actually is, it's whatever the pokedex data entry says it is. Meaning even though shiny ditto is blue in the pokedex it would still say pink.

I know single colour only challenges are the bomb, but what about a challenge where you only use pokemon with 3 or 4+ colours? Is that even winnable?
Maybe try a rock smash challenge. RSE but you can only use rock smash encounters. Would have to change the starters to Geodude or something but could be a cool challenge. Not sure how many different encounters there would actually be
