There has got to be some reason or other difference in the games to compensate, ie some other mon is lvl 25 in SS while HG is lvl 24 as like an inverse since that is how this stuff usually works

On the first Miltank fight: The AI rolls its damage twice. One time to decide which move to go for, and the second time to calculate the actual damage dealt. What probably happened is that Miltank rolled a kill with rollout on the first roll, but got a low roll on the second one. Idea: at a high enough level, smeargle learns the move “imitate” which copies the stats of the opponent while improving a stat at random. This could be him “improving the art”
Smeargle is so underrated. A set of Spore, Mind Reader/Lock-On, Sheer Cold, and then like leech seed or seismic toss for other means of damage. It takes out literally anything it outspeeds and outlevels. Which is plenty of pokemon especially in vanilla games
I loved all the artist cards, and thank you for featuring a broader range of artists. I just wished for an H.G Geiger with an onix to go along with O'keefe
That part where you talked about flying on a smeargle made me instantly think of it flying like Tails does where it's paintbrush tail would spin like a helicopter and you would hold onto its hands
Honestly, doing kanto too will be pretty redundant. It was fun watching you try to beat bugsy and whitney, but it's just gonna be the same baton pass strats as what you had to do in the late game of johto. The only thing that would be interesting would be if you utilised some op exclusive moves like lugia's aeroblast.
At 8:38 you said Falkner has an illegal Pidgeotto, I counter that claim with "In Pokemon Yellow Version, you can encounter a wild level 9 Pidgeotto in Viridian Forest and its very catchable." so, while evolving Pidgey at level 13 is defiantly not legal in the game code, it is arguable that it was capturable and traded within the pokemon videogame universe. After a little more reading, in both HG and SS you can encounter a level 7 Pidgeotto with a 9% encounter rate in Viridian Forest during the Day. Thank you for your video, I'll see myself out now.
You should try a nuzlocke with only pokemon you are given! Using Platinum as an example you could use your starter, Togepi, eevee, porygon, riolu, and either shieldon or cranidos. Can be done in any game with varying degrees of difficulty.
Can't wait for your next idea. Personally, I dislike Smeargle's gimmick, but you made it very, very fun. For a neat little palate cleanser, maybe do a run of BW2 using only Pokémon belonging to the Amorphous and Mineral egg groups?
I attempted a smeargle only run in pokemon X, but that game is so easy that they started destroying every trainer with ease and I got bored. I still haven't beaten that game.

While falkners is definitely illegal, it isn't by much. On route 37 you can actually find wild Pidgeottos at level 15 which is still under levelled from when it would normally evolve. I don't think there's too many times where this is possible which is neat

Flygon,for the routes before victory road, u can use lugia at HM user with fly,surf,waterfall etc 🙂 (better than gyarados that doesnt learn fly)
