    This is one of my fav dim sum range and a must try recipe. Can I keep uncooked puff in freezer?

      I haven’t tried freezing it before. What a good idea tho. I would try a few just to test it out. Thaw to bring it back to room temperature before frying. But be really careful of hot oil splashing if they’re wet from freezing. That’s my only concern.

    Are the wheat starch the same as Har Gaw ?

    • @homecookingwitheva2479
      @homecookingwitheva2479  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it’s the same wheat starch used in Har Gaw skin recipes made from scratch

    Unfortunately my taro Puff did not turn out the way it was demonstrated in the video. This is despite of meticulous video replay that I did. The filling tasted very good but the taro skin fell completely apart and totally floated in the surface of the cooking oil. I wonder what went wrong??

    I don’t have wheat starch. Can I used other flour ?

    • @homecookingwitheva2479
      @homecookingwitheva2479  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kim, do you have access to corn starch or tapioca starch? I’ve never substituted wheat starch in this recipe before, but I think corn or tapioca starch may be a better substitute than flour in this case. Good luck.

    My doesn't puff. Why?

    • @homecookingwitheva2479
      @homecookingwitheva2479  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can only guess that either temperature of oil was not hot enough or the dumplings weren’t in the oil long enough?

      Oh no so sorry to hear. I’m only guessing but I suspect is the temperature of your oil.
