    Ive had Botox for 3 years now. I’m an artist and without going into details, I need to squint all the time while painting ( to see values) and I developed early lines between the eyes and on the forehead. I “use” 30mm every 8 months, and I’m still able to move my face, but the deepening of these wrinkles has stopped. And I love looking fresher ( Botox does not make you look younger, in my opinion ) and well rested. But you are right, all is in the hands of the doctor and mine never over-do it! Tips: my Dr ( certified plastic surgeon...only use vetted professionals! ) has an open house once a year. I go by and buy my Botox that day when it is on sale and have the procedure done whenever it is time!

    I have used and love 💕 Botox and Dysport. I have had it done at my dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon (eye specialist) offices. Both drs are very conservative when injecting and make me come back for a second visit to see if more is needed rather than just putting it all in at once. I find it usually lasts me 9+ months. I feel it just softens my lines, especially my crows feet and the “ll” between my brows (which made me look angry). This is my once a year treat to myself!!

      Some pain doctors can do trigger point injections with lidocaine. It temporarily relaxes the muscle. Maybe won't last as long as botox but won't cause issues with function and less chance of bad side effects.

    Argireline is not meant to penetrate any deeper than "what you can see". It is a TEMPORARILY topical solution for wrinkles, fine lines, fatty deposits/bags under the eyes.It is NOT going to help anything against the just mentioned things, also it will have no effect on saggy skin (jawline) or hanging upper eyelids .Taken this in consideration, it CAN help with superficial fine lines.Indeed, it just stays ON the skin and does its skin-paralyzing work there, so that part does not move anymore. So if you use it, it prevents the SKIN (not muscle) from folding up everytime your face moves, in the exact spot where you put it .Logically, if it sortof freezes that spot for many hours during the day, the wrinkling is bound to get less visible... also a side effect can be, that the skin is using other parts of the skin to make movement possible, so one can develop a temporary sort of wrinkling looking effect next to the place where you use it.Argireline comes in many strenghts and recipes. One powerful one for a temporary "ironing" effect is Instantly Ageless from Jeunesse, especcially fo a night out, to look good during daytime (5-8 hours it holds), or for a photoshoot. It really wipes away under eye bags like magic. But only for an certain amount of hours, when you wash your face, the truth comes back up.I have a lot of personal experience with this peptide, I am not a seller nor do I have any intererests (financially) in argireline. Just saying it like it is!

      I don't understand. How would skin move without any muscle intervention? I mean, what does it do its 'paralyzing work' on exactly? Would you care to explain, or provide your source of information, or did you just see some effect and then back-created a potential explanation?

    I was diagnosed with hyperhidrosis of the palms when i was really young and tried every treatment available and the only thing thats worked is botox injections. I gave up a lot of activities because of my permanently wet hands. I stopped cello/piano. I couldnt do tennis. Writing essays during school exams was so stressful. I stopped drawing. Shaking hands on an interview, holding hands with someone i dated. All of these things caused me so much anxiety. Botox is my miracle and has improved my quality of life tremendously. It was really difficult to find a derm who would administer injections into the palms but it was worth the hunt! I also had two corrective jaw surgeries a few years ago and the condition is exacerbated by clenching/grinding my teeth at night and im looking into getting botox into the mandible. I am an unusually medically high maintenance person but god damn i love botox.

Each product contains atleast 10-20 ingredients. Imagine using 10 products on the skin in one shot .

      many of those serums have things like gellan gum and acrylates that reflect light and create the illusion of smoothing skin....hard to say that it is actually the argireline...i see a smoothing effect using the hada labo gel cream or the neutorgena hydroboost gel cream, which both have those same ingredeints and no argierline

      MaryEllen After 60 Hi MaryEllen, The Skin Deva serum doesnt have the ingredients that Dr Dray mentioned but it does have Matryxl and yyaluronic acid in addition to the argirilene so it maybe hard to pin point exactly the results. Also, the only way to determine that it is really the argirilene that is having results would be to stop your tretinoin and any other actives you are using to really test it. Tretinoin definitely has an effect on smoothing lines that increases as you continue to use it. I have been using Tazerac and then generic tretinoin for a period longer than 30 years and even with aging I see results. Cheers!

    I work for a dermatologist so about a year ago I thought I would try botox (because it was free and why not?) And I LOVE IT. I've done it for forehead wrinkles, underarm sweating, and also my masseters for headaches, and it makes such a big difference for my quality of life!

    Thank you Dr. Dray! I literally have been binge watching your videos the last few days! I cannot tell you how excited I get when I hear Oh hey guys! Puts a smile on my face. I was going to use this as my anti aging antioxidant serum. I will defitnely skip it now. You are the encyclopedia of skincare knowledge and I thank you so much for sharing it all with us! Because of you I have simplified my routine so so much. During the day it is toner or essence, moisturizer and sunscreen. At night it is double cleansing and the same toner or essence unless I am using retinol which I am now doing 2-3x a week and that is it. I thought I needed a vitamin c and all these others actives but I was just damaging my skin. Plus, I have niacinamide in my moisturizer so there is my antioxidant! Thank you again. I cannot wait to take this skincare journey. Thank you for being my guide! I appreciate you and am so grateful to you! ❤️

      Argireline works and is completely safe. And vitamin c is one of the best things/antioxidants you can put on your skin, especially when there is vitamin e and ferulic acid combined with the vitamin c serum. Don't just not use something that is great for your skin just because Dr. Dray doesn't like something. Do your own research and watch/listen to multiple resources. I love dr dray but you should never just take one person's word as law.

When ever I go in complaining maybe the last botox wasn't up to snuff. He pulls out the picture. I scream no put it away!!! Thank pharma for botox...lol In the past I have had a real problem with sunscreen, finally my derm suggested Elta MD sunscreen and I have been wearing it everyday. I watched your video and saw the neutrogena 100 spray on sunscreen and I ran out and bought it.Thanks for the great videos.

    Thank you for sharing this information. Besides the price what is the difference between Dysport and Botox?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the concentration of botulinum toxin is less in dysport so when switching from botox to dysport more units may be needed...so if you go somewhere that prices by unit then dysport may appear cheaper, but more units may be needed, so price not going to differ much; dysport is a smaller molecule and spreads a little more, meaing the injection technique is really important to prevent side effects in neighboring areas; neither is better than the other..they are essentially the same as far as results

    You're so right about Argireline NOT being a replacement for botox, "Analysis of the mechanism of action showed that Argireline significantly inhibited neurotransmitter release with a potency similar to that of BoNT A, although as expected, it displayed much lower efficacy than the neurotoxin. " (Paper titled "A synthetic hexapeptide (Argireline) with antiwrinkle activity." published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Sciences.) Not a whole lot of research to support it, nor any long-term research, but it has been shown to work.
    Personally, I found it worked! ...Right before it destroyed my moisture barrier haha

    Doc, I love my spf. As a very fair-skinned lady it's necessary for me to not die, as well as preventive maintenance against aging. Photo aging and free radical damage is for sure a real thing, and definitely contributed to overall aging of the skin. BUT, all the SPF in the world can't stop expression lines. I'm plagued/ blessed with a very expression-y face, which is great since I'm an actor but sucks when I was 16 and aready have permanent lines on my forehead. I'm now 32 and they really haven't gotten much worse because I've always been very interested in active cosmetic ingredients and cosmetic chemistry in general so I try to take very good care of my skin with exfoliation and proper ingredients. Nothing but a one-time Botox shot let me rest my muscles long enough for them to flatten them. Currently researching for my own super duper special anti-aging serum that has as many vitamins, antioxidants, ALL the peptides, amino acids, hyaluronic acid , and general Collegen building power as I can fit into a single bottle. With skin penetrating enhancers. All the correct pH LOL.
