Nice! I've tried so many (literally about 10 or 11) and have heavy protection ones, mid-range (McDavid Phantom) and lightweight ones (Ace). I'm trying to get back to stengthening my ankle and I saw these on an instagram ad, but hearing your explanation has me sold. I have to try them. I miss having full mobility to play ball and these seem like the best to have protection but mobility.
nice to see that the straps start at the heel, used to wear some pretty similar socks but where the straps started at the center of my foot and they would make my foot cramp really bad
Thank you so much for identifying that it's not for those missing ligaments. I'm missing ligaments surgery isn't indicated just due to my health condition. So I truly appreciate your outlining who this product is for and the features that it includes putting it into real context.
With this technology you could create compression sleeves for knees and elbows, maybe even shoulders that would mimic the proprioception/rehab function this sock is providing.
When using a brace it's a must to rehab the ankle, in strength, balance and proprioception, It's not a substitute for it, it can actually weaken you. Good luck
What about chronic ankle sprainers? Is it ok to wear braces for protection or to prevent future injuries when playing? If so, would these be good for that purpase/better than bigger braces like the Zamst?
i think the brace itself looks really good... my issue is the sock...can you take out the brace from the sock that comes it with? what if the socks tears over time? i rather place the brace over any type of sock
hi there cool video I wanted to ask would this be good for something like Sinus tarsi syndrome that I have in 1 foot and planter fascia-tis in a other foot I look forward to your help of if you have any videos or recitations to sport Sinus tarsi syndrome as I I finde. it dibiltating at times
Hey if my ankles are fine but I just want the extra protection, can I still wear these or will they weaken my proprioception and ankle tendons/ligaments?
Would you consider this product as a rehab support from injuries? Or is this something that can also help protect from a major injury to occur? Also what is drop foot? Saw on the list of good and bad
I always have soreness on my ankle tendons after playing basket (I have multiple ankle injuries, including a Perone fracture) will these help to reduce some of the soreness? I won’t stop stretching but a little help would be nice so I can play more often
That's very cool! I love when new technology is developed to help people/athletes. What is the best option for flat feet and severe overpronation (Basketball player- 265 lbs)? I saw that there stiffer arched insoles but I didn't know if that would hurt my flat feet? Kind of like the 2 types of Lillard's Power Moves.
@@FootDoctorZach thank you for your reply. I have the super feet for sports (blue) but I know you've recommended the power step or the move game day. I hurt my calf playing basketball so I've been focusing on mobility and strength during my recovery. I want to keep playing!
So I’m a tennis player. Competitive Singles. I had a ACL reconstruction 16 years ago, which has resulted In no cartilage practically & meniscus’s torn on both sides of that knee. This has caused havoc on my ankles and both ankles keep rolling now this last year. I’m in PT but the pain I get in my feet from my Nike tennis shoes are killing me. What’s a good shoe for a woman with the highest foot arches from tip toe walking. I’m a crazy case, alright 😂 I’m planning on getting these braces to step down from my zamst super supportive brace.
They may be restocking - I know they were selling pretty fast but I wouldn't know anything else about stock or availability vs just what the website says
@@FootDoctorZach thanks Zach, btw I have a question, I'm a volleyball player and I have pain in the front of my foot, is there any shoes that you tested with good cushion in the front? Most have great on the back but thin sole in the front part, one of the rare ones I found is the Nike GT jump 2,but not sure if is good for volleyball, thank you for all the great videos :)
Depends on if it’s accompanied by a rigid flatfoot- for rehabbing an acute PTTD and getting back to unassisted play they would be good IMO but you have to determine what stage you’re in before deciding on rigid vs semi rigid vs functional
@@FootDoctorZach believe I fall in the functions category. Had a grade 3, completed rehab 1 year ago, was cleared to fully workout with insoles. Just wanted something for additional support for (CrossFit) workouts.
Hey Doc I have a lot of laxity in my ankle from chronic sprains so I've been using those rigid Zamst braces. Do you think these could further strengthen my ankle or is it not worth it at this point w/o surgery? thanks , great vid
Tib raises, Tib Raises, TIB RAISES..... and then more tib raises! And and also some Ben Patrick KoT! Good luck! And also I would NOT wear these coupled with a brace. The Zamst is the best I've ever tried
Zach, what do you think about wearing a pair of these on the regular for playing pickleball? Because most tennis shoes are low-cut, I often roll my ankles. Do you think they'll get the job done.
hey zach, do you have any ankle brace recommendations for inversion ankle sprainers who skateboard? I still find it hard to flick my board fully with my ACE brace with stabilizers.
That’s a tough one- it really depends on the grade of ligament damage. Ideally you could rehab to the point of not needing a rigid brace so you can use the full range of your ankle but that’s something you’d need to talk with your doctor and PT about too
1. Why wearing a normal sock inside of it is bad? 2. The website has a restriction for my country (I'm from PH) so where can I buy aside from their website? 3. So the better guard ankle braces is just a gimmick?
1. Wearing a normal sock under disrupts the biofeedback loop- like snipping a wire in the middle of a circuit 2. Not sure, maybe ebay or amazon , youd have to contact them directly 3. Never tried them so i couldnt make a judgment
@@FootDoctorZach thanks for reply! 2. I'll find one and hoping it's a legit one. 3. Well i can't see any of the reviews about because no one buys it. It starts at 49 euro so uhmmm if you can buy I can watch that review. That would mean a lot. Thanks!
You need to review EXO-L braces. The last ankle brace you'll ever need, particularly if you have a very unstable ankle. Actually designed for functional athletes and used by world class athletes! Nothing else comes close!
I thought it was Anthony Davis's new signiture AD 3 😂
This is terrible! 😅😅

Going to try these out for skateboarding. I have some lingering ligament pain and feel like this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Good point
Super interesting. Thanks Zack!
Sold! Take my money!! Thanks for the info. 👍👍
Haha it is pretty neat tech
👍👍👍 Thank you for the detailed explanation of the product.
Much love bro ❤
very interesting product! Thanks doc
I am actually at that comeback rehab stage , How would you compare this to the Aryse iFast ankle brace?
When using a brace it's a must to rehab the ankle, in strength, balance and proprioception, It's not a substitute for it, it can actually weaken you. Good luck
Can we get an Air Jordan 12 review/tear down?
What about chronic ankle sprainers? Is it ok to wear braces for protection or to prevent future injuries when playing? If so, would these be good for that purpase/better than bigger braces like the Zamst?
A2-DX ankle brace is the best that you can purchase in my opinion have been using it since high school
thanks for posting a vid on this brace doc! if u got anything to help with foot drop thats not bulky, let us know!!
There are lots of great devices for that- it’s just finding the one that fits with your lifestyle
Would this work for Achilles tear?
Depends on what stage of recovery you’re in
I want this where is this place
i think the brace itself looks really good... my issue is the sock...can you take out the brace from the sock that comes it with? what if the socks tears over time? i rather place the brace over any type of sock
No the cage is built into the sock - all one unit
Can you use these for running? If not, can you recommend one for running to stabilize my ankles?
Hi, have you looked into Betterguards Ankle Brace? If you have then what do you think about them? Or if not, then could you please look at them.

Just wear them when in competition
Finally back in stock after being sold out for 6 months. I just bought my second pair!
The new ones have a lower cut
@@FootDoctorZach good eye, I didn’t notice that until you said it. I wonder what else has changed. I hope they used more durable materials.
Just comming back from a ankel injury, but cant get these in Europe 😢 0:02
Would this help with a slight overpronation?
Really appreciate the breakdown on ligament tears. Fully dislocated my foot, so I don’t think these’ll help me much.
Thx for the video. I’m used to wearing high tops and now have low top hoop shoes. Can this be used for playing ball 2-3x a week
is this product avulse in uk and if so can you please share a link
Thanks for another great video and just curious what New balance were you playing in during the video?
👀 saw those huh…? Look out next week for the reveal…
What’s better move insoles or power step insoles?
Would you consider this product as a rehab support from injuries? Or is this something that can also help protect from a major injury to occur?
Also what is drop foot? Saw on the list of good and bad
1. Can I wear a sock over it? Like a premium Nike NBA socks

Thanks

The compression should help and the biofeedback could be of benefit, its really something thats patient-dependent
I love it

It really depends how much support you could tolerate- I’ve made a lot of custom braces for that profile but it’s really case by case

I tore ankle ligaments and had internal brace surgery and tore my tibial tendon and dorsiflexion hurts my Achilles…idk what will help.
I saw theres a new way of wade shoe called Wade 808 3, will you be making a video on it? Not much reviews yet on TH-cam too
When they come in the mail yep

Depends if you need rigid or functional support - best to ask your doc you’ve been seeing

Yeah- it’ll be tough to slide on once but then conforms nicely

Dr. Zach, could you take a look and give insights on ARYSE IFAST Ankle Stabilizer? Is PowerStep Dynamic Ankle Support Sock similar to it?

$35 per a sox!? Not pair! 🤦🏻♂️
only for americans
