  • It's been requested a ton, so here it is! The Wilson Triad is Wilsons new offering of a budget Tour ball. I have heard some great things, so I can't wait to see the numbers!

    Great ball, just for fast swingers.

    James Robinson Golf and Chris Dennis Golf voted this Wilson Triad as the best golf ball of the year that they have tested. Love your reviews!

      I have noticed that the Triad gets a lot of love from everyone. The main factor I am seeing is that pros love it. I think if you swing 100 MPH or faster, the Triad will kick butt. For average swingers though, it falls short.
      Thanks so much for watching and subscribing Cam! It means the world to me brotha.

    The best scoring ball. Indeed ball flies straighter.

    I watch all of your reviews but after doing some research on my own I found this independent testing done by Todays Golfer on robotic testing and the results for this ball were far better than your review gave them credit for.

    Triad is actually one of the best deals in golf balls at the moment. Pro V1-like performance for basically 25% off the cost and is just a better version of the Q-Star Tour, better spin and control, higher ball speeds for faster swingers, for a few bucks more per dozen. This is one of those reviews you just have to take the roasts on.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've heard really good things about the triad from faster swingers. Not necessarily 110 mph pros, but guys who are swinging about 100 to 105. The one area I would push back a little bit is the comparison to the q star tour. There's really no comparison between the two numbers. The q star tour is for moderate swings and I get fantastic results off the monitor with it. The triad didn't even come close. The triad almost reminds me of a value tour four-piece golf ball based on its feel. Which probably works for some.

    I have a softspot for Wilson golf ball. On impules bought a dozen of these at about 3 bucks a ball (gulp). I figured you get what you pay for and if the wilson zip is at a buck a ball then this should be 3 times better. I was wrong...as wrong as I am at reading putts! LOL. After several holes I actually thought these were designed as reduced distance golf balls. I do keep a couple in my bag till I loose them all. When I am on a par three and am in between clubs and need to take 5 yards off my shot I put this ball into play.

      It just is way too firm for the average weekend crowd.

    Watch Rick Shiels' review on this ball. He cuts one up and explains the different layers and the tech inside the ball. I game this ball and absolutely love it. Soft with the putter, crisp with pitch and chip shots. And then it feels powerful off the driver face!

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen his review. That was one of the main reasons for my conclusion on the triad. It's probably amazing for high swingers. But mid and low need to stay away.

  • @michaelfrench9597
    @michaelfrench9597 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    I 100% disagree with everything, I went from a pro v1 to the triad and it was so much better for me, with a swing speed with irons 90-95, driver 100-105 speed that ball is design for high swing speed not slow speed.. And i can shape it too low to mid 75-82 is my avg. score... that ball is not for a slow swing speed for that try the duo soft+..

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Then it sounds like you don't 100% disagree with me. I make it pretty clear that this golf balls for people who can strike the ball really well consistently. If your average score is 75 to 82 then you're obviously pretty decent at doing that. You also mention you can shape the ball really well, which I also mentioned at the end of the video is needed for this ball.
      Also, I am very glad the golf ball worked out for you. However you swing about 10 to 15 mph faster than I do. So my review isn't going to cater to you. The numbers are the numbers.
      I do appreciate your feedback though. I knew most people loved this golf ball who swing 110 mph plus but it's nice to know that 100 to 105 will also do the trick.

      You’ll find a wide range of opinions about this ball and any ball. Look at Mr Short Hitter …he loved it.
      It play this ball sometimes….its a good well priced ball but I don’t think it feels as nice as a tour ball. I like trying different stuff and also I just think it’s fun to try something different. Most people aren’t even considering a Wilson ball…but it’s fine and a bit different.

    Dude, It's you, not the ball!!! I'm a 14 handicap and the Triad is the best ball I've ever used It's super forgiving, and great distance. I love this ball!!!

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When you say that it's me not the ball, if you're referring to possibly my swing speed, then I agree with you. I definitely think it's a swing speed issue.
      However if you're just in general questioning my ability to review a ball, then no. I've also brought this golf ball to a couple of my friends at work and had them test it out and they hated it. Granted they are slower swingers. I think it's a golf ball for 100 mph Plus

      @@GolfBallAddict I'm at 95 to 100mph and again a fantastic ball...90% of the comments Love this ball......not questioning your ability but the only way to truly test is with an iron bryon-type machine, so every swing is the same

    This is so weird as my experience was very positive. I found one of these during my last round and loved how it performed despite mishits. I somehow managed to play 12 holes and not lose it, it's still in my bag actually. But, as it with anything golf related, try stuff, this game is weird and you never know what will work for you.

      I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I have actually received quite a few people that have told me their experience with this ball so much different. I cannot wait to retest it this year. But I'll just have to see how the numbers do

    I have pretty much the same swing speed as you. What is the Most Forgiving golf ball off the tee..

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It depends on your swing speed, but off the top of my head the ball that comes to mind is the Wilson ZIP. I remember that golf ball having just unreal forgiveness. Losing only two or three yards off miss hits.

    I am just coming out of a slump(11.4 to a 15.4 handicap) and was loosing a bunch of my 2024 Chrome Softs at $54.99 a dozen so I picked up a dozen of the Wilson Triad golf balls on sale for $25 at my local golf course and have played 4-18 hole rounds and 4 league 9 hole rounds and love this ball. A little longer and straighter with the driver and still hold greens from 160 and in. I couldn’t disagree more with your assessment of this ball.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're not the only one. I've had many people tell me that I need to retest this golf ball. A retest will definitely be coming in 2024 and hopefully I have some better results. I absolutely love Wilson so I hope it does much better this time

    What ball/s would you recommend for someone wanting to prioritize ball forgiveness above all?

      Callaway Supersoft Max. Just pull the flag when you putt.

    Genuine question. How do you get forgiveness from a golf ball? If you bit it bad, you hit it bad. The ball cant be held responsible for that.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is a great question. I am going to cover it in a video tomorrow. Please be on the lookout! Also, thank you again for the question. Long story short, forgiveness has to do with how the golf ball corresponds on mishits. For example, If I mishit a Pro V1, I lose about 15 yards and 1500 rpm spin. With a Wilson Zip, ( a really forgiving ball) mishits only lose 5 yards and 200 rpm of spin. It helps higher handicap golfers a ton.
