- Welcome to my review of the Zord Ascension Project Astro Megazord from Power Rangers In Space. Our third main release in the line and unexpectadly isn't Mighty Morphin. Along with this surprise, this release makes some signefigent size and quality improvements. But is it enough to make this line worth it? How does it compare to the OG release and the size of previous releases? Find out some of this and less, in the review.

I'd kill for a Delta, Voyager and Winger at this scale. Space was always my favorite.
Can you imagine getting the zords from SPD? Especially the Command Crawler? That thing will be huge.

As a kid the delta was cool. All in secrecy dark color unknown power. Now as an adult when i see the transformation im like thats it? Seriously is like 2 steps. Is crazy. Almost as if the effort went to the astro megazord and the team hot lazy with the delta. I feel like they should've added a gimmick or a nice special way for delta to transform. Still would be bad ass if they made one to go with this

Astro Megazord is actually supposed to be taller than Dino Megazord so it is accurate 👍
Accurate to what? A book? Because when we see multiple megazords in the show at the same time (Astro and Galaxy, Galaxy and Lighspeed Omega, etc.) they always have around the same size*

@@matheuslara1670 they are all guys in suits so of course they are the same size. The thing is Toei does have actual measurements for each Mecha/Megazord if they had the budget to not use guys in suits.
@Matheus Lara I've thought of that too. But the size is accurate. I did find a chart with Megazords. looks like most of the Megazords will come out same size as Astro Megazord. The Dino Megazord will be one of the smaller Megazords. The biggest so far on the chart is The Zeo and Super Zeo Megazords. I'll be happy to send you the chart.

It doesn't matter he's out of scale and too big. Most people won't have a place to put him outside of leaving it on their top of the shelf catching dust and other things.
I’m honestly really glad that they finally did something that wasn’t MM or the Dino megazord for the millionth time
For real, this is the singularly best product to come out of the Lightning Collection so far. It's big, it's blocky, it's beautiful!
It's a bit ironic that I got it with wave 13 which has the worst QC issues ever. Things are clearly improving though with IS Silver and Blue Senturion.
HOLY CRAP, I didn't realize it was going to be GIANT compared to the OG. if they make Delta that combo is gonna be MASSIVE
Fun Fact: The ZAP Astro Megazord matches the original Sentai toy of the Galaxy Mega, as its dark blue corresponds with the actual suit in its various depictions between later appearances (Sentai footage and all).
The question is, if they do the Zeo Megazord, will it be nearly twice the size of the first Megazord as the scale chart suggests? They scaled the Astro Megazord using the "actual" scale of what it was supposed to be on the show, so will they do the same for everything? Apparently the original Megazord was one of the smallest with the 2017 movie being far smaller. The Zeo Megazords were huge though.
This is easily their best zord so far.im still really excited for all of these.
You missed a couple of things on the articulation, some awesome things imo... Firstly the feet can pop out and they're actually on ball joints! Secondly, it has an ab crunch! Which is really impressive imo for such a blocky/bulky figure.
The problem is that he just make the review he don't study the toys which would be a good thing if he does because is gonna bring a lot if good things in his review.
He also missed the chest opens up showing the cockpit too.
Is it just me or do I kind of want to see GalaxyMega (Astro Megazord) vs Dononitaijin
I believe that is the reason why they put the crotch flap on a hinge so the legs don't clash with the legs. This thing looks so gorgeous and the navy blue was an awesome touch. I hope that we get the Delta Megazord soon.
Dino Mega - 11.2095 in [Zap says its 11.5 though]
Dragonzord - 10.3893 in
Astro Mega - 15.0372 in
White Tigerzord - 12.7133 in
Zap line is 1/144 scale
Damn if/when we get a Delta Megazord in this scale, the combined mode is going to be huuuge!
I want the thundersauraus megazord or magi king/ mystic force megazord.
@@justinarzola4584 mystic force is called the titan Megazord. That is greatful that you know the Japanese name known as Magi King but how could you not know the American name is called Titan Megazord.
Agreed this things is pretty great, probably worth it if the price dropped like 20% and the legs really detract from the fun of transforming it. Otherwise, this is a wonderful looking figure

just got mine and was impressed with the size, and the girth. It's blocky for sure but surprisingly poseable.
QC is still not quite there, but pretty close. My astro megazord is missing the chrome paint on portion of its left shoulder.
This was one was always my favorite. When I was a kid i put an Autobot logo on is and pretend he was apart of Transformers

Astro Megazord is 55M tall and the Mighty Morphin Megazord is 41 M tall. Seems about right in scale.
I'm trying to decide if I need this. I didn't really watch much In Space, but I've wound up with all the Lightning figures, so this would of course be the next step...
Everyone I've watched so far as said they dislike the little rangers included but they are the thing that actually pushed me to get them
i wish the ZAP Megaship had a skinnier front like the original toy.
would prefer if they had 2 shuttle one that transform the head and an acurate shuttle

I didnt get fist with my zap dino megazord, but it looks great combined with dragonzord, and i cant wait for the ASTRODELTA MEGAZORD COMBO, ITS GONNA BE HUGE

I really hope we get the other Megazords from PRIS. Can you imagine the SPD Command Crawler if it’s scaled accurately?
The ZAPs are meant to be 1:144 scale. So with the Original Megazord at 41m and the Astro Megazord at 55m, they looked like how they should if they ever met.
it had bad QC, but the intetion design build is damn great one of my fav top3 megazord its beautiful their robot, and their freakin base
They killed it with this zap zord.
The feet also separate and have a ball joint

The astro megazord is a thing of beauty.
They need to make the Delta Megazord for this beauty. It just wouldn't feel complete without it.

I'm glad Hasbro redeemed the ZAP line with this Astro Megazord. It's not perfect but it's a huge step in the right direction compared to the ZAP Dino Megazord and Dragonzord.
God, ouughh christ!!! I am praying for a mega voyager ZAP release. Easily my most anticipated megazord in addition to the Turbo Megazord!!!

I wish they could make a cheaper version of the dragon zord battlemode and this megazord because you can get the Dino megazord at Walmart or Amazon for a good price that you will want to buy it but like the Dragon zord battlemode and this Megazord which is stupid because they are just 100 dollars or more but that’s to much they should be at least 30 dollars

About time we got something other than the original Megazord. I like the original MMPR as much as the next guy, but there were other seasons with more Zords FFS....
Man this just really makes me wish a Soul of Chogokin version would exist.
You've forgotten to show off the interior space within the torso. I think that there is a command centre inside or something like that; hence the inclusion of the "micro" Power Rangers.
This Zord being a lot more like a transformer probably contributed to making it a better figure from Hasbro. It was just far more in their ball park.
I was REALLY SCARED I would break this when transforming it.
Specifically the legs, and especially the pegs.(unintended rhyme BTW) But I'm so glad it didn't.
Hopefully it stays that way for the foreseeable future?
They should make more and make new Ranger keys
as Hasbro have lots of experience with transforming robots,I really expect these megazord to be great and it is...
Scale should be accurate. Dino Megazord is 41 meters tall, Astro Megazord is 55.

@DosmRider You forgot to show ankles articulations.
It looks far more accurate that the ZAP Dino Megazord. If i cared about In Space much, I would get this as it seems to be a great representation of the Megazord. Hopefully the eventual Thunder Megazord has the same attention to show accurate detail, though it will likely be far more expensive.

I actually really like the plastic on this toy. It doesn't look cheap
for how big that is,it looks ultra expensive around $500 to $700
It looks but the quality is $80 easily, but the mspr is $165

I've never been much for collecting figures, but I've had my eye on this one ever since it was revealed... Its my second favorite mecha of all time behind Shinken-Oh, the ship mode is just pure Star Trek to me. Dosm's seal of approval is all I needed to make the final decision! Gonna be getting me one of these when the time comes...
I have a conspiracy theory that hasbro still hasn't perfected combinder zords yet since the only 1 we get was the Dino Megazord and that's it.
Then try to get The Modell from the dx chougeki line by Bandai these are all transformible
I really wanna sell my Astro/Delta megazord set to get this but then I'll have to get the delta when it comes out 😭
How much does this go for in Land of the Brave? Here in Holland import shops he's 215 euro's, that's a bit much imho.

Since you have the original, if you compare the designs, does it look like the ZAP version has enough in common with the original that it could combine with a Delta Megazord if (god willing) they make one?

You absolutely should, it's amazing. Best Lightning Collection product so far.
For the price and quality I wouldn't recommend if you can get it on sale then yes.
if you love in space or megaranger, then this is a definite recommend
I wish Hasbro would go back to a better manageable size like the original megazord toys. They are just to big for my collection. With Hasbro work on transformers we need megazord that are affordable and are not over $150

Dosm I'm hype you said this was one of your favorite megazords! I honestly thought that I was one of the outliers that felt this was one of the best PR megazords of the Saban era🙈😂 I'm very happy with this ZAP version and I'm hoping for a delta megazord version very soon😬

Why couldn’t we get a show accurate Shogun Megazord first? Remember when Shogun Megazord was released we got pink Shogun Zord instead of white Shogun Zord. That was mess up for MMPR season 3 fans.

Hasbro did Zap Dino Megazord from Mighty morphin, but then skipped Alien Rangers, Zeo, and Turbo. And went ahead and do Power Rangers in Space Astro Megazord without doing a Zap version of Shogun Megazord, Zeo Megazord, or Turbo Megazord first.
This means if they do the delta Megazord from in Space, they are going to skip Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, and Time Force. And go ahead and do A zap version of Wild Force Megazord.
Zap Dino Megazord + zap Astro Megazord = Zap Wild Force Megazord is next. Hasbro needs to not skip Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, and Time Force like they had skipped Zeo and Turbo and done in Soace with out doing Zeo and Turbo before In Space.

Impressive. While they say that the next entry is the White Tigerzord, I hope that afterward comes the Delta Megazord. The resulting combined Astro Delta Megazord/Super Galaxymega will no doubt be massive like a Titan class Transformers figure. I can definitely see that as the centerpiece of many a display.
Upon seeing this, I'm only thinking one thing. Hasbro SERIOUSLY needs to give us a Delta Megazord to combine with the Astro Megazord. I'd love for that to happen as the Astro Delta Megazord was one of my favorite Megazord combinations if the original Saban era.

I'm surprised that Hasbro managed to do a better job with this Megazord. I don't think they had enough time to make changes after the DragonZord's problems.

DosmRider had to mention the feel of the Megazord many times because we are all wondering about Hasbro's quality.
I've already seen a few complaints about the cheap plastic breaking like it did on the Dino Megazord. Clips breaking, etc...

They need to stop, between adding the extra details and the outrageous size, give it back to bandai!
Even putting Hasbro's QC issues aside, this thing is badly proportioned, both with itself and with the other ZAP Megazords.
Apparently hasbro is using the official Sentai size chart to determine scale of the megazords.
All the megazord are not the same size that's why.

No reason at all why the shuttle has to look like shit, or why the megship mode is so "fat". Why is there not a swivel for the biceps. Best one is by far the mini-pla version. Why not just upscale that??? Yes I own this one, yes I am a little disappointed.
