    I restored a Farmall cub. Do the garden every year. People stop and tell me it’s cool and take pictures with the kids. Brother has a brand new Kubota. No one has ever given it a second glance.😂

      Yep that’s because there is nothing cooler than an old farmall lol.

    There is always something to work on with the old tractors. I got the "red fever" last year, started with my 93 year old FIL's Super AV. Got it running after 20 years with a tune up and decided to plant a garden rigging up an old Cole Duplex Planter. Since then I bought a Super A, 100, another Super AV, and a 140 last month . Not to mention about $1000 worth of accessories, planters, fertilizer hoppers, cuffs, shanks, sweeps, etc. Keep that water out of your fuel tank, it will cause it to rust. I had to clean and coat the tanks on my Super A and 140, because they wouldn't run due to rust in the fuel system.

      I got the red fever after I found a super A in a box pretty much. The previous owner took it apart and didn’t know how to put it back together. I bought it and then a Farmall M then a 140 donor tractor lol. I had the same issue with my Farmall M. The rust in that tank was unbelievable. I wish I had done a video on the coating process but it was a little before I started filming. Thanks for the comment.

    It's great to see life in the countryside and the care taken with the machines, keep up the good work, greetings from Brazil!

    Sounds like it is running lean to me. If inside of the carb is definitely all clean. Could be either float setting or fuel flow problem. Maybe a problem inside tank with intermittent blockish of the fuel port. Maybe try inch tall stand pipe in the tank. But I think it's a fuel issue. Float setting or fuel supply

    I’m glad you got her running better. I wish to have a farm tractor.

    Drop the drain plug from the bottom of carbureator and spray cleaner in the jets...that is if you have a good stream of gas running to it

      I think I may have got it figured out. When I was adjusting it I noticed it would run better once it got to operating temperature but didn’t think much of it. Now that you said that it makes a lot more sense lol. Thanks for the advice

    Get 5 gallons of high octane racing fuel and run through it while you’re working it. We put our M’s on the silage blower with 5 gallons of hot fuel, they ran a lot better after that.

      I’ve been running 93 octane in it for a while and it has ran a lot better since I started that. I may have to try mixing in a little octane booster or just run a little high octane to see if it clears up some more. Thanks for the advice.

    Just liked and subscribed. We have several farmall's 5 of them are M's. Sounds like you have it sorted. You might check it see if the screens up in the air cleaner are not clogged?

      My air cleaner is actually broken at the moment lol. I’m looking for a good replacement that fits the tractor and has a good original look. Thanks for the like, for subscribing and for the comment.

    Put a spark tester on while your running it. Maybe working on the wrong end lol. Sounds like the point gap is too close or the condenser is weak. Spark testers are cheap at HarborFreight. When i do my ignition is i replace the points and condenser all at once. 20 is the gap setting i do on my old IHs

    • @TheW.Homestead
      @TheW.Homestead  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did reset my points and test my condenser but forgot to mention it. The points were set wrong though lol. I think the points were set to .035. Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to get a spark tester, they sound like a handy tool.

      @@TheW.Homestead that’s where I always start is with the spark tester and work to the fuel flow. A lot of time rust will clog at the bottom of the tank and I’ll blow air back though the line to open it back up. I got a process on tank rust if you have that problem lol. You idle air jet will lean it also. If your exhaust is running hot your lean. About 1 turn out on that idle air screw. Turn it until you see some black smoke at a idle and back out slowly until smoke is gone. The main jet and idle air is backwards. Same with the main turn out until you get black smoke and turn in until smoke clears. I like alittle puff of black when I go from idle to full throttle. Just make sure the spark is staight on all 4 cylinders first
