    I definitely think I’d like the reversible cover best. It has a more finished look.
    I do like the simple beauty of the linen.

    Great use for scraps of leftover fabric! These would be especially useful for bread-making.

    Thank you for showing how to do this. I watched your German Breakfast video and in it you referred to the handmade bowl cover you were using. I have been having trouble finding bowl covers big enough for my large bowls (even tho they claim it is for that diameter), so now I can make some. I need a few for my bread proofing.

    I love it! - I need to do the reversible one for my Kitchenaid! I actually even need the fabric you used because it looks to be a yellow and green gingham lol! My mixer is yellow 💛-and I definitely would love a cover for it. Thanks for the idea!

    I have a question ❤ Firstly, these look fantastic - exactly what I was looking for! I think I will use some leftover waterproof fabric that I have. When closing the gap in the fabric at the end, is it unnecessary to close on both sides of the elastic? That is... do you only need to close the fabric close to the edge, and not need to close the inner part of the channel?

    • @OurGabledHome
      @OurGabledHome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am so glad you like these bowl covers. Depending on how much use they get, you may or not want to close both sides.

    Very simple and effective. I would caution your viewers to not sew over pins though. This is not recommended especially if you have a good machine.

    How about using bias tape to create the channel for the elastic.

    As I watched you sew, I was all: "Remove the pins... remove the pins... AHHHH! She's sewing over the pins!" #cringe LOL. Great tutorial! I knew the first way but I didn't know about the reversible version. I like that one for a pretty gift idea. Its more finished looking.

    • @OurGabledHome
      @OurGabledHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, thank you so much! I usually sew over the pins very slowly because as you can imagine, I have broken both the sewing needle and the pins 😜 ~ Anja

    If I have a 12 inch diameter bowl would the elastic need to be only 10 inches or so? Just wondering
