    This is a pretty good update over the very long-in-the-tooth previous generation. The issue is that the MDX and Genesis GV80 share this exact price point and will not be confused for a Pilot or Palisade. I wish Infiniti would've had greater differentiation from the Pathfinder, which in its Platinum trim, seems like a better buy.

      You have a point. We rented an Armada in Texas, then a few months later I sat on a friends QX80. Apart from screens in the back of the head rests for the second row passengers, and nicer stitching. It was the same vehicle, it even shared materials, and the same crappy Nissan infotainment.
      This is why Infiniti is suffering sales wise. Unless you wanted fancier LEDs, Rims, and chrome materials, the Armada was the same car, same interior.

    This is definitely a big step up for Infiniti, but at this price point ($55k-$60k as commonly equipped) I find myself not seeing a lot of benefit for getting this over something you didn’t directly compare it to very often - a Telluride. I checked out a new QX60 and yes, the materials are decent and it’s nicely designed, but it’s not significantly nicer than the highest end Telluride trim (which tops out at about $50k). And for that money, in the Telluride you get better seats (with power extending thigh cushions), way more overall interior room, the same amount of power, full screen Apple CarPlay, and real buttons instead of all that glossy black capacitive touch stuff in the Infiniti. Unless you just really don’t want a Kia badge, or you absolutely can’t live without the keep-child-seat-in-place feature, I don’t think the 15-20% premium for the Infiniti is worth it. You get more for your money and a similar level of luxury in a Telluride SX.

      @@garrettw99 Powertrain aside, I still think they are unreliable. We've owned 3 Nissan's in the past 10 years and have known many other Nissan owners, we've been presented with plenty QC issues and electrical issues. Our 2020 Titan just refused to start up and left us in the middle of the mountains because a rollover sensor got triggered. We've had the infotainment systems and our AC systems on BOTH our 2019 Pathfinder and 2020 Titan suddenly turn black and glitch out mid drive. The backup camera and ACC radar on the Pathfinder is "problematic" at best. The cruise control radar keeps giving me emergency brake warning whenever I go under a bridge or whenever it rains, while the backup camera refuses to work half the time. Yes I have brought them back to the dealership numerous times for these issues, but no they have not been fixed. I know at least 5 other Nissan owners that has been having similar issues as me.

    The placement of the spare tyre under the car might have made it possible to fit a full size spare under there. Most SUVs (even new ones) that have the spare tyre under the car use a full size spare. Don't know why Infiniti didn't do that here.

  • @caliboyrob
    @caliboyrob 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The QX60 aside from the aviator is gives you the most useable 3rd row. In order to get a useable back seat from the competition you have to step up to an X7 or GLS. Which is why people buy these. Infiniti/Nissan always gives you a little more bang your buck. Especially when it comes to real world interior room.

    IF theres any class of vehicle that needs turbocharging it's these. I like to hear the V6 in my TLX but it's never strained. I did hate to hear them say the whole Nissan+ thing. Really not a good move. BUT they said it before we had the context of them elevating their newer Nissan products. The fact is that the Pathfinder is a MUCh nicer vehicle than it was, same thing can be said about the new Rogue. The interiors are REALLY nice and remind me of how my moms 90's Maxima punched above its weight class. I've seen a few of the new QX60s out on the road, but last week I saw a fully loaded Autograph upclose on the road and MAN did it have some presence to it. The new Pathy looks good, but this thing really looks a step above in person and honestly ALMOST unrelated. I was shocked at how much wider it looks despite having near identical dimensions.
    But in reality, every best selling Lexus is based on a mainstream Toyota, same for Honda/Acura. It's simply a formula that works. However, with the latest announcement on Infiniti's path forward seems they will be focusing even more on differentiating the two brands. It seems the new QX80 is truly going to kick off the new direction for the brand and this QX60, as good as it is, seems to be more of a transition vehicle.

    Plastic rockers and fender flares, at that price range = GARBAGE

      @TheMrDudiness it is being marketed as a Luxury vehicle, not sport utility. It looks like a cheap Ford Escape with black plastic wheel arches. A competing Cadillac XT6 has world class painted rocker and fenders which are fully hemmed. If this QX60 was below $40K then no problem-- It is made for probably a lot less than that, cheap plastic body panels and flat back seats screams low cost.

    Pretty crappy mileage. And Nissan reliability is a no go.
