Great episode again. I certainly applaud you taking Leanne Time. Life is too short not to take 5 and just breathe. This community is very forgiving so enjoy yourself. We will be here when you’re ready. Much love Diane ❤❤
The same as @kevindawg5717 and much love from me too xxx
Thank you soo much for this support and understanding 😊
Thank you so much Diane (((hug)))
Echo kevindawg’s comment of taking time, we will welcome you back when YOU are ready!
Echoing @kevindawg5717. Take time for yourself and will catch up in the future. Thanks for all the lovely company you’ve shared with us. Wishing you friendly skies❤
Everyone needs a break. I’ll be watching for your return. I so enjoy your knitting talents. ❤️🧶
I will miss you during your break, but certainly applaud your self care! Be well, have fun, relax and replenish. I love your bright, happy color choices.
Thank you for directing us to the Mostly Knitting podcast. She has really helpful tutorials! The short rows make sense now! Thank you for your podcasts too Leanne. I really enjoy them ❤️
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us Leanne and for sharing your lovely knits. Happy Canada day for tomorrow 🇨🇦 and we hope to see you on the TH-cam worlds soon. Enjoy your summer and recharge. I have always thought of doing a podcast too, but all the editing and background work scares me and puts me off indeed. So, thank you for doing it and sharing. Happy flying, knitting and summertime!
Thank you so much for this kind message. Yes I just need a bit of a breather, although I have to say that I have really cut down and do minimal editing now, but that definitely is the lions share of the time consumption
I know everyone needs a break , but I’ll really miss you. I like getting all about your knitting and at the same time we get to see and hear about different places. Specially Canada. I’ll be waiting for your return.
Enjoy the summer. I appreciate you, your videos, and your knitting. I get courage to try new things from your experiences.
That is very nice to hear. Thank you so much. Have a wonderful summer and happy knitting!!
As much as I'm going to miss your podcasts for a while, I'm glad you're taking some time for yourself, which is so important. That just means we have sooo many FOs to look forward to seeing when you reappear. I hope you have a lovely summer 😊
Thank you so much! There will be a ridiculous amount of FOs 😹
Missing you already! But so glad you'll have some time off from podcasting this summer. That mint! Wow! Just stunning!
Thank you ☺️ i’ll see you in the fall. Have a wonderful peaceful summer. Happy Knitting!
Thank you for your episodes Leeann. Enjoy your time away and we’ll be here when you return.
I am SO in awe of your color work, especially the cowboy themed sweater! Thank you for sharing your making and adventures with us.
Thank you so much!
It's brings me so much joy to know that you've finally fallen down the spinning rabbit hole! That Sunset Highway is gorgeous on uou. It actually looks cute with the dress under it. And the bright greens and pinks of your other two sweater make you glow. I love it so much! I'm glad you are taking some Leanne time. ❤
Thank you dearest 💛 Tracey 🧡 good to be down the rabbit hole of spinning together!! We might have to have a drum carder playdate… you know. I know you know
Oh the colour, I love it!
Take some time off, we devotees will be here when you get back. May the needles bring you much joy while you’re away.
Thank you so much!
Love the colours, and especially on your nails, such a great green!
Thank you so much!
Love your woolweek hat Leanne! Both of them…😃👏🏼😅 and I think your husband will love it!!!🧶🧶🧶
Love your podcasts and am inspired by all your knitting Leanne. You’re so talented and we’ll miss you for a bit and look forward to your next episode. Happy Summer! 🌅
Yeehaw!! Leanne, you're awesome! Sat and knit with you this morning. Thanks! So inspiring. Have a great summer! Thanks for the shout out. Can't wait to start my sunset highway! ❤
Yay!! Have a great knitty and peaceful summer!!!
Wow, loving the cowgirl crop… and I’m amazed how far 20g of yarn goes! I can recommend Norman of NimbleNeedles who does lots of tutorials. He has one called “A Better Way to knit German short rows” from about 1 year ago. He has an earlier one too, so look out for the more recent one. Enjoy your break! 😊
Thanks for the tip about Norman!!
Great episode! See you when you return...take good care, LeeAnn! 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Thank you, Leanne, for another lovely episode. Relax and enjoy 'you' time 😊
Thank you! 😊
Oh my, I also love your cowgirl hat!!!
You do some amazing colorwork! Enjoy your break!! Hope you come back rested and refreshed!!
Ye-ha! What a cute cowboy hat sweater! Have a relaxing break. 😊
Thank you! You too!
Thank you Leanne. What a treat to go somewhere new. What an interesting place. Thanks for the short sock suggestion. They might be something my daughters will actually wear. Have a lovely summer. We will miss you but everyone needs a Stop! Reset! Refresh! So enjoy! Christine, Australia. 🧡
Thank you Christine 😃☺️
Loved the Motor City footage. I learned a lot of new things about Detroit. I wish you safe travels and friendly skies, Leanne. 💜✈
Thank you friend!!
Have a wonderful vacation Leanne, everyone needs time off no matter what. Gorgeous knitting, loved all of it. Happy travels & knitting. 🤗
Thank you! You too!
Take care, and have a fun summer , with lots of knitting and outdoor adventures, hopefully! Thank you for spending some of your free time with us! I always enjoy it! See you in the fall! 😊
Thank you! You too!
So good to see you again. I love all your projects, especially your hats. I share your joy of colorwork , it’s so fun to see the pictures of the chart come alive! Enjoy your break and hopefully I will see you at Knit City Calgary 😘❤️
Amazing that you mentioned Shall We Knit which used to be our yarn shop in Waterloo, Ontario. We miss this shop as we no longer have a local yarn shop.
Yes, I think I’m going to try and get out to Kingsville next time. I am in Windsor this month.
Lovely podcast as always, thank you Leanne!
Your Sunset highway is gorgeous!!!!! I also don't like to catch my floats, they just show through too much. Have fun enjoying Summer!!! Yes, totally got the Journey song stuck in my head, haha! Hugs, Kimberly
Thanks, Kimberly. And remember “don’t stop believing” 😉

Hope you stay with us with your chats. I can imagine it might get ‘old’ after preparing and hauling it around on your trips etc. Your time is a gift, whether for yourself or with us, so consider carefully to fit your own desires. Look so forward to you and every time I fly, I end up talking to the stews in the gallery while waiting for the potty! They are always delighted to hear about you and the podcast! Cheers. Susan
Thanks Susan! I love that you chat about this with the FAs on your flights ✈️ ..maybe one day I’ll run into you
Wow! Gotta love all your colourful colour work, Leanne. Great idea to use a colourwork chart in a top down sweater. I do that when I make my baby hoodies. I adjust for stitch count and knit the chart upside down. It works great. I will have to try it on a sweater for me. I think you will have the perfect hat when you knit your third Shetland hat.
I visited Windsor when I was 11, back in 1962, so 62 years ago. My brother was interning in Detroit and my mum and I flew out from Nelson, BC (I think we flew from Spokane) to visit- my first plane ride, with full dinners with china and silverware, lots of leg room and a smoking section (gag). We drove through that tunnel under the river to visit friends in Windsor-mind boggling!
Enjoy your break from podcasting and finish up all those WIPS. I will miss you, but we are all busy in summer and a good time for a break!
That is such a neat memory! thanks for your message and I will see you in the fall
Thank You for such a wonderful podcast! You are so inspiring with your knitting, when notification comes about your podcast I rush to watch immediately. Now when I wear these socks I will remember I knit the heel flap while watching Leanne. Enjoy your summer break!
Aw that’s so sweet! Love our Heel Flap memory/connection! Thanks Heather!
Love all your beautiful colourwork projects. Will miss your episodes while you have a bit of a break, but as I am relatively new to your channel, I might go back and watch your earlier episodes. I really enjoy the little travel interludes in your episodes.
Thank you so much!
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 I always enjoy your unique combination of lovely knits and Canadian city visits. Having grown up in Windsor, it was fun to see the familiar Detroit skyline and the always slightly claustrophobic Windsor-Detroit tunnel. Enjoy your break, I hope you will feel ready to return in a while.
So many beautiful things. It's fun to see you making things because you take such great joy in therm. Happy Canada Day!
I grew up in Detroit and traversed the tunnel and the bridge many many many times. It was always very exciting going to that other country, Canada! Thanks for the memories.
Very cool!
Thanks for this great episode and all the precedent ones, which brought me so much joy! Best regards from Germany😊. This brings me to the short rows: pull your yarn really tight, so that the two legs of the turning stitch appear on top of the needle, and it‘ll turn upside down. So you will have enough tension to avoid the little gap in between. See you some day in autumn, take your time!❤
Thank you!! ☺️
Leanne, I have always thought that you are a natural beauty and your new hairdo only emphasizes that. Kudos for taking a break. I will definitely keep following you.
Thank you Donna! So kind of you 🫶🏼
That mint green looks amazing on you! Enjoy your break, but pleeeease come back! 😊
🤗
Another awesome episode and love your knits, finished and wips. Enjoy your break and enjoy your summer fun. We will see you again soon.❤❤ Take care!!
Thank you! You too!
Hat 32 looks great on. Hard to get these to fit a smaller head. Both hats are lovely. Good for you for taking some time off to enjoy the summer in between busy schedules and all those lovely WIPS.
Thank you! 😊
Due to your podcast I’ve been in Canada and searching for Yarn Shops. I’ve recently visited Stash Needle Art Lounge! In Calgary. An awesome experience! Thanks for all the things you do for us knitters ❤️❤️
My daughter was attending a conference in Detroit. However, she had the foresight to reserve rooms across the border in Windsor. Crossing the border daily gave us an opportunity to compare the two cities. Detroit was scary with the police walking in pairs with a dog. In Windsor, they were walking alone and greeted us even in the evenings with friendly smiles. Detroit had lots of litter along the streets and sidewalks with groups of men standing around fires in trash cans and lots of vacant houses. Windsor in contrast, was very clean and obviously well maintained. It was amazing that two cities that were only separated by a river could be so different.
That is so interesting. Our shuttle driver said Detroit has improved SUBSTANTIALLY in the last 10 years.
So great to see you, as always Leanne. I am always inspired by your knits!! Glad you are taking some time to step back and enjoy the summer, your knitting, your family, the outdoors. I will look forward to seeing you again the fall! With love from Edmonton!
Being a Michigander from the UP, I speak fluent Ontarian and it was a treat to see Windsor through your eyes. I understand your anxiety regarding numerous works in progress. I usually have two socks plus a large project going on at one time, but more than that makes me nervous. I always enjoy seeing more Canadian cities through your eyes.
We just spent a week in Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake at the Shaw Festival, Stratford, and Port Stanley, returning home through Sarnia. We had beautiful weather and a wonderful time hanging out with Canadians.
Happy Canada Day!
This is awesome! Thanks for your message Ann! 🇨🇦 Happy 4th of July to you! 🇺🇸
Happy summer! Thanks again for the Calgary yarn stop suggestions! ❤
You are so welcome!
Oh I will miss your podcasting so much! Do enjoy your much needed time away and maybe I will see you at knit city Calgary? Looking forward to more shows when you resume. Take care ❤
You are always such a joy Leanne. ❤ love the color therapy from all your beautiful projects. I worked on some vanilla socks while watching. We all need some me time every now and again, we will wait until it feels good to come back. 😘
Thank you sweet friend!! I need to tap out for a breather! 😎
Those sweaters are everything! Love them both so much. I put the Sunset Highway on my list to knit. And the Calgary Stampede sweater is adorable. Also loving the hat. Both versions. Enjoy your time off. We will all be waiting for you when you return.
Yay! Thank you!
will miss your podcasts for awhile. do take time for yourself of course! love your pidcasts
Thank you, Christie!
Nice episode LeAnn. Hope youre able to rest and enjoy family and doing what youd like. We will miss you and completely understand, we will see you when you return. Take care God bless you all.
Thank you so much!
Both beanies look great on you and the Texmex colours are just perfect with your colouring. Seems like your sister thinks so too🤭. I enjoy your podcasts a lot and I really applaud your taking time to have a holiday. Enjoy your time off and have fun.
I just read her comment and I’m thrilled!!
Have to ditto other’s comments! Love your podcast! Love your FO’s. Love your cast ons. Love, love, love you taking Leeann time! Enjoy! ❤
Oh thank you!
So interesting to see my city featured this time. Yes, sadly, many of our Windsor residents are struggling with homelessness, addiction and mental health issues and solutions often seem out of reach. It can be so disheartening to see how many suffer this way. Hopefully, we will continue to develop housing solutions and other intervention programmes to provide opportunities to lift each other up. We do have fabulous restaurants and coffee shops - maybe you’ll get a chance to check a couple of them out next time you’re here. Or a trip to the yarn shop in Kingsville. Enjoy your well-deserved break first, Leanne!
Thanks Alison!
I was hoping to run into you, by an off chance, on a flight from Halifax to Calgary last month. It didn't happen to I got on board this episode with you tonight. Fun, as usual. I, too, started off as a monogamous quilter, then knitter. both crafts took me down rabbit holes and I now have many WIPS in both . Or as Darlene from the Cutbank Girls says a Work Thus Far! Enjoy the Summer break and as the old song says, See You in September.
Your neon phase is looking awesome! I can’t wait to see what you are making next. I hope you won’t feel stressed or trapped by your traveling format. Your videos are just as lovely at home. Have a nice summer. Sincerely, Tania
Thanks so much Tania!
Of course we will miss you but it’s time for you to get some summer fun and relaxation! You more than deserve it. I’ll be right here in Maine looking forward to seeing you again, knitting socks and enjoying our coastline! I love your cowgirl sweater. The colors are stunning. You and I have the same happy feeling about that gorgeous aqua green/blue yarn from Camijo. All your WIPs are lovely! So fun to see Windsor and the lovely yarn shop.. wishing you lots of happy moments throughout your summer. Stay safe keep well and keep that lovely smile handy!
Love and lots of yarny goodness!
Katie from Maine USA. I love Canada!🩷🧦🧶
Thank you Katie!!
Happy Canada Day Leanne! Thank you for another great podcast. I enjoyed the photos of Windsor as well as the trip to the yarn shop. Your hats are fabulous! Yes, the ranunculus is a fabulous sweater to knit, I think I have knit it 4 or 5 times. Your colourwork is perfection. Your cowboy (girl) sweater is adorable, love the colours, I hope you get to wear it during stampede and knit city. Have a good break from the podcast for the summer.
Thank you Susan!!!! ❣️ 🌸
Thanks for showing some of my part of the world. I don’t live there anymore, but it’s nice to see it on a podcast. It really has changed, some good, some not so good. Next time I visit, I’ll make time to check out the yarn store with my aunt.
I always enjoy your podcasts, they are always so informative. Also, I think it’s great when people share they are taking some me time out. It’s healthy.
Thank you Lynda! 😊
I love your colorwork yarn/color choices, Leanne!
Thank you! 😊
Your hat is fabulous 😊
Leanne, your hats are so awesome!! We will miss you but hope your summer will be fun and relaxing!
Thank you! You too!

Great video, love all the knits. Enjoy the summer and make the most of the time away from recording and editing. 🇬🇧
Another engaging episode. For sure, take some time for yourself. We will be here when you return. Love all your projects but especially Calgary Stampede sweater! How festive!
Thank you so much!
Thanks Leanne for another great insight into your knitting journey. I'm about to start my first Ranunculus with a group of friends who meet weekly at our LYS. Good on you for knowing your limitations. Look forward to seeing you again when you are ready. Barbara (NZ)
Hi Leanne, I am currently knitting the magic spring shawl as recommended by you in a beautiful fingering superwash Marino and natural bamboo blend. The skein was dyed especially for a NC OBX knit shop’s 20th anniversary.
Thank you for your podcast and your charming tours and sharing your makes. Karen from Gaithersburg
That sounds like it’s going to be an amazing Magic Spring Shawl!! Thank you for your message Karen 🫶🏼
have a wonderful break and we will see you when you return!
Hi Leanne! Love all your color choices! I can’t wait for your return episode to see all the FOBs. Enjoy the summer!
Thanks Heather!!
Love your cowgirl crop…so fun!
Thank you, Janice!
Always a pleasure to spend time knitting with you and seeing your makes which are inspiring. I share the same thought with the German short row purl resolve, no matter how snug I pull the yarn, there’s always a bit of a hole. Enjoy your Leanne time and I will be on the lookout for when you come back here. xx
Lots of comments about videos for us with our short row issues! I’ll share about it in my next episode.. hopefully I don’t forget
Another great episode! So much information and ideas for me to make note of! Enjoy your break/holiday or just some time to breathe. I will wait for the bell to tell me you are back.🎉
Thank you Judith! 😊
I love the new sweater!
Lovely video. Thank you. Wow tons of projects. Very cool. Friendly skies😎
Thank you ☺️ !!
Love, Love, Love your haircut!!!!
Thank you Linda!
So glad to see your Sunset Highway. I bought yarn for it when the pattern first came out and promptly misplaced it. Recently found the yarn and you have inspired me. Have a wonderful summer. Meet you in the fall with a bunch of FO’s!
That’s a deal!
Have a restful summer !
Leanne thanks for your latest podcast, I’m always delighted when a new episode pops up. I applaud you for realizing you need some Leanne time. I was just down the road from Windsor this weekend, celebrating a cousin’s graduation. I haven’t been to Windsor in a very long time, yarn shop looks appealing - 🩷 their mascot. Also have heard great things about the yarn shop in Kingsville, from Kelly and Noelle of Knitting Pieces podcast, who are located in S/W Ontario.
Happy 🇨🇦 Day and wishing you a lovely summer.
The other Wendy 🧶
Hello the other Wendy! :) yes I think I’m going to try and make my way out to Kingsville next time. I’m in Windsor.
Enjoy your break everyone needs that to inspire and have a great rest with your family. Love your episode. I appreciate your choice of projects and visits to different parks of Canada. Have a wonderful holiday see you when you’re ready to come back. ❤
Thank you ☺️ !!
Hi Leanne , watching from Bavaria on Canada Day , nice to see 🇨🇦 again. Your hats and all are so fun, I'm inspired , thanks for all the info and have a great summer 😊
🍻 Cheers to you in Bavaria!
Wonderful, busy podcast! You certainly have a lot on your needles!! Seven WIPs would make me crazy, but go for it! You will have lots to show after your break. I will miss you, but understand the need for some down time. I just finished the Tresoro--a lovely, easy pattern! Safe travels, and Happy Canada Day!
Thank you so much!
Have a wonderful summer Leanne! Safe Travels & Happy Knitting 🇨🇦❤️
Thank you! You too!
Enjoy your time off. Look forward to seeing you again.
Thanks, you too!
Enjoy your summer!! Hope you have lots of fun and get to some rock concerts as well.❤️🎸
I hope so too! Thanks Karen 🤘🏼
Wow Leanne
I was born and raised in Windsor more east end …now live about 1/2 hr from there Kingsville On
You will be missed but always nice to have a rest of anything we do 😊
So happy to see you in our neck of the woods
Yes Karen in Kingsville Shall we Knit is so nice
Looks like you ventured out quite a bit
Hope you have a good weekend and home for it 😊🥰
Thanks, Debbie yeah, I planned a venture out there maybe during my next time in Windsor
Welcome to the spinning world! I also have an Ashford Kiwi 3, bought it last summer when I was taking spinning classes. I did a bit of spinning then, but wasn't happy with the lack of twist. Then about 3 months ago I realized I needed to move the drive band to the smaller groove on the whorl! I've been happy since! I did find that a 2-ply of 100 grams doesn't fit on one bobbin, since the yarn fluffy up during plying. So I considered getting a jumbo flyer, and the extra jumbo bobbins. But I ended up getting an Electric Eel Wheel 6.1 by Dreaming Robots. Their bobbins are larger, so I use it mostly for plying. I love my two wheels, Suzie and Daisy. ❤
This is great info!! Thank you! I haven’t named my wheels!!
I love all the hats you're making. Your new hair length looks so good with them..that colourwork yoke is fantastic! I'm quite the Caitlin hunter fan too. Thanks for another great episode. I'm watching from Dubai airport during a layover to S Africa 😊.
👋🏼
Enjoy your break. Hope you are able to get lots of knitting and spinning time in.
Thank you! 😊
Great episode! I live in the Detroit area and enjoyed learning more about my Canadian neighbor city! Thank you!
Awesome! 😎
Hi Leanne - congrats on the Kiwi 3 purchase! I have had mine for 2+ years and as you know...Tour de Fleece 2024!! is hopefully the motivation to learn - lol. Your shetland hats are wonderful and your colour work is Devine...so want a southwest version. Sunset highway is stunning and while fingering weight sweaters take FOR EVERRR....will be worth it - love the colours you chose. Cast On-itis gets the better of even the most devout monogamous knitters so enjoy...you'll be back to 3 wips in no time. Hope you dont mind....going to send you a pic of my spinning...maybe you can point me to a video to help me understand what I need to do differently(lol). Enjoy your summer off and look forward to seeing you whenever you podcast again. Happy, peaceful, crafting - Linda.
Hi Linda 👋🏼 thanks for this message! Look forward to seeing your spinning but I’m pretty clueless I think every bobbin of fibre is pretty 🤩 lol
Will miss your podcasts and look forward to any that you can do. It is important to take care of yourself. Enjoy your spinning time. I am trying to improve mine.
Thank you so much!

ELAINE 🏡💕🧦
Morning! Thanks Elaine! Can’t wait to see if her Skimmer Socks fit today 👏🏼
Beautiful knit Leanne ! Love the new Caitlin Hunter sweater you’re making !
I hope your not stuck in Windsor with the airline strike , but I guess that would give you more knitting time and yarn store visits 😊
I did not get stuck there, but I had ALL my projects as you saw just in case! 😂
Thanks again
Thats so cool. Im very familiar with Windsor, such a beautiful city. I was actually there on local yarn shop day and bought 2 skeins of the Arcane yarn at that shop. I love your cowboy/girl wip, the neons look so nice together.
Thanks Jane’
Enjoy your summer and finishing your WIP's before they become UFO's lol I know someone (me) who's head would likely fit the hat that you said is too small and she's an Aries😉Love your podcasts sis and I look forward to whenever you release Episode 34!! X's
😱 MONA!! That is a match made in heaven!!
2nd comment!! Norman over at Nimble Needles channel has a good tutorial on German short rows and how not to get that darn hole. I’m sure there are others but he had a great explanation on one of his you tube episodes.😊
I'll check it out!
I'm so sad to hear that you are taking a knitty stew break. I am excited when you post episodes! But I hope you have a beautiful summer and that it's not too busy. I love all your knits! Ican't wait to see your cowgirl one completed. Have you ever knit a sweater by Ysolda Knits? I know you've made the Musselborough hat. She is so talented! I really appreciate the intelligence and thought in her designs.❤🧶
Oh yes, I have many of hers in my queue, but I have never made a garment by her!!
