The factions trophies were the only trophies I didn’t get for the platinum on the ps3. I just got the trophies for the remastered ps4 version and your video really helped. I could never survive 12 weeks back then but you made it really easy for me to get through that big scare of a 100% population wipe. Thanks.

@@OWO_EDITSPS3 is different because it was effectively full of cheaters, guaranteed due to the PS3 being cracked wide open. PS4 is still up with little to no cheaters (private teams may have modded consoles online) and there is nowhere else to play it. If they shut it down, the entire community is dead. It will happen eventually, but I don't think soon because there is nowhere else to play it. Factions 2 was supposed to be a thing but got cancelled so there's no successor either...

Gotta say. When I first started playing factions it was solely for the multiplayer trophies and getting the platinum. But each match I went on it became a chess-like survival game that made me be so cautions in my management and actions. I got so addicted to that concept, the original concept of TLOU game, that even though Naughty Dog won't do any sequel to this marvelous add-on. I will gladly keep playing it. It's just simple team fun. What more do you want?

When I was younger I used to always love the last of us, I never had internet or WiFi until quarantine . I seen factions and I was like “why not” and I was shocked to see it was PvP and not PvE, I was terrible at the game but DUDEEEE I loved it. I remember getting my first down and I was so happy.
It's so good to see other people have such love for Factions. I was absolutely addicted to this game for the longest time. I've got about 2000 hours in Factions. I have never played a game that much

I play this game every day - I love it! I love the randomness of playing with actual real people and not against the computer. I wish ND would fix the bugs and cheats. They could also add it to DLC for the other versions of TLOU/2. If they take down the servers then I expect my money back, because I have spent quite a bit on guns and costumes etc.
was just talking to my cousin about factions and found this video. Maybe its because it didnt take off that I reminisce about it so much. But it was THE competitive multiplayer for me in the PS3 era. Everyone else was playing COD or something, factions was it for me. I would be playing it right now if it was on the PC.

Same I just got back into the game a cupple of weeks ago not expecting to find a match I hadn't played in years, I was shocked how easy it is to get into a game and am hooked all over again.
I reflected once I reached level 999. This game is amazing, played since nick eh 30 played this and made videos of it. Nothing ever compared to this game.
He would've played TLOU2 on stream if they had of made it at the time. Would've caused popularity towards the game and money wouldn't of been an issue.
The way to enjoy Factions is finding the right time of day to play. If you play from 4:00 pm Central time US to around 4:00 am Central time US you will decrease your chances of playing with people with an internet advantage. I have played at so many different times against the same people at different times and between the hours of 4:00 am to around 1:00 pm is when I have found out that the severs match you more with players from either South America or Europe. That time frame is when I find players whose shots never miss or they can move faster than me. And when I mean move faster I'm not talking about crabwalking. 90% of the loudouts I use have Agility 2 as perk and I constantly get my ass handed to me by players being faster than me or I have to land more shots on them than needed. For example it will take 3 shots from the tac shotgun or 3 hits with the stick or 4 to 5 shots with the revolver. This is also when my smoke bombs area is drastically reduced and bombs won't down players. It's also the same with molotov. So play in the evening to late night to avoid these issues.

I have played the last of us part 1 day 1 on ps3. I played the living hell of it until they shunted down the ps3 servers. Ever since then I haven’t touch last of us faction due to studying medicine. I hope this multiplayer still lives on. I’m glad players like you keep this community alive . Thank you
The concept of the game sticking onto the last man giving them the power to pull miracles if they use the tools given correctly is a concept that is very unique and well pulled off in this game.
As a current and old time factions player, I would absolutely love to see this gamemode stick around. If they shut down the servers, I hope that the developers and people who worked on Factions get the chance to make their own standalone game, even if it's with a different company. With the modern industry and developers creating their own unique indie experiences, I wouldn't be surprised if someone remakes or just designs their own game around the style, map design, and gunplay of Factions. I hold a faint hope that ND will release a Factions mode within the future, but I hold a stronger hope within the community to, in the case of a shut down or complete ND abandonment, create a game that is entirely identical, or even just a fraction similar to Factions.
On one hand, I think them having the game canceled and it being very public has to be embarrassing and that they'll want a chance to 'redeem' themselves with a multiplayer mode similar to factions with tlou3. You know it will be part of the conversation when the game is being developed. On the other, If the series ends with 3, then maybe they won't bother, because it's not worth keeping people engaged with that world.
"Naughty Dog" and "conversation" shouldn't be used in the same sentence. They are notorious for going dark and refusing to speak about anything they are working on.
I still play this when I get the chance . Hopefully servers don’t shut down . Just being able to have a multitude of approaches on how you load out and even play is amazing .
I just want them to make an update for the original factions. Patch cheats like wall-shooting or crab-walking. I’d much prefer maintence on something that everyone loves as opposed to investing in a factions 2 that may or may not be as good as the original.
I’ve been a daily Factions player for years. Ironically, since “No Return” came out I haven’t returned to Factions at all. It seems NR has successfully replaced the one game that I’ve always come back to. I wonder if any other Factions players have this?
No Return kept me away for a while, but with no PVP it can't really replace Factions and I sort of love the way gunplay and gameplay is tuned in Factions a bit better. No Return largely makes me think about what Factions 2 might have looked like as I assume it would have had some of those elements.
I am totally not interested in playing against the machine when I could be playing against other people. It might be fun for a few days but PvP is better.

And I think when I went back to try Factions it was the pace that I didn’t like as much. It’s so fast and I hate this so much but it’s so…cheat-y. I love that the AI never cheats and plays “realistically” as opposed to crab walking across the whole map to wall pop me in one burst rifle blast and then tea bag me like they earned it💩
Being the last one alive and then turning the match outcome the other way around is THE greatest feeling on earth, which made this game soo great. It could have been so much more then it was. I don’t get why it wasn’t more popular and it’s sad that they cancelled the new multiplayer game…
This is the best multiplayer ever. The lack of support and cheaters ruined it, I would be ecstatic if Naughty Dog just patched the cheats out. This game was the only reason I kept my PSN subscription for as long as I did. I have moved into the PC gaming space now and see little point in returning and resubbing to PlayStation any time soon. Sadly, I think you are dreaming if you are hopeful of a sequel in the near to distant future, but I really hope I am wrong.
had no idea servers were still up. i was on a couple sanchowest top 10 factions plays back in the day. uncharted and factions were some of my favorite multiplayer games ever. might consider getting a bigger hard drive so i can download TLOU.
This game is literally the most underrated game in history of mankind. It’s literally a shame that the remastered version doesn’t come with the multiplayer mode :/
After CoD multiplayer kicked me to the nuts (thanks to supply boxes and all that pay2win crap), I found myself playing tlou multiplayer every day, it was simple yes but it was such an enjoyment because of low supplies and teamwork 'n all that .. after 3 years I started playing again and already seen a few hackers, thats sad but its not every match so Im happy to play more
I just wish that factions mode was included in Part 1. I can't see why it wasn't in the remake. My biggest issue with factions is that it's on PlayStation. It's a good game mode, but not Sony pocketing 80 dollars of my money a year good. That and aiming with a controller with a maximum of 60fps all held it back from being truly great in my eyes. With Part 1 having a PC port we could have gotten the perfect game mode, but that's probably never going to happen.
We all have to move on at some point, 2013 was 11 years ago, some of us already have jobs or family, I started playing not long ago but I'm sure I will move on after some years just like the original players did.
I loved multiplayer on the ps4, I bought last of us p1 on sale and couldn't wait to finish the story mode and move onto MP. I can't believe they didn't include it in the PC version. It's like a slap in the face, then facing constant lag in singleplayer which I can understand since it's a port but still. You'd think these big companies would at least polish the game before porting it to PC.
I really do hope this lasts for a long time. Also uncharted 4 multiplayer. It feel like it's going to be shut down someday but I hope not any time soon
I'd really like to see another team take up the concept behind factions and do their own rendition. The want for it is there. And my trust in naughty dog has plummeted with how they handled factions 2.
Naughty Dog made great gameplay for TLOU2 and seeing the gameplay in a multiplayer with that engine I don't know why we couldn't just get a raw version of the multiplayer
I was so happy to return to factions recently until I was reminded why I hate playing multiplayer - I unmuted people’s mics and instantly regretted it.
Is there any way for modders to make this exist on PC. Surely it's possible I'm not saying it will be easy but if there's ways to do on other games surely they can do it ?

I loved it, used burst rifle and semi auto mostly but I thought the purchaseable tactical shotgun was op. The tactical shotgun and the cheating finally broke me and I moved on. I wish this excellent multiplayer game would have attracted more support from Naughty Dog.
I started playing factions all the way back in 2014 and for me, it used to be the best multiplayer I had ever played. Unfortunately the mass amount of cheating caused me to stop playing. For me I could not get a lobby where there wasn’t anyone using exploits like speed crab walking and wall shooting. I tried to get back into the game like a year ago but the cheating has only gotten worse. It really sucks to see how Naughty Dog has completely failed in the multiplayer aspect for factions 2.
been playing almost constantly for 10 years and hardly ever encounter cheating. I know its rife because I see this comment a lot but I'm just puzzled as to why some people seem to see it all the time and others like myself, who doesn't play at at any particular time of day, barely see it. Maybe its because I stick to Supply Raid?
I agree there are alot of players that try to cheat like shooting through walls. But theirs only like 2 or 3 of them that are actually consistently good at it. Otherwise it's most just kids wasting bullets
This game was vaporware made to make it look like Sony is trying to compete and innovate but failing to do so. They're doing made this to sway the minds of the trade commissions and consumers to make the ABK deal seem anticompetitive.
Nothing will ever replace factions. But the finals has filled that void of an addictive tactical gameplay but in first person though. I’ll still support the channel and watch the videos especially since watching helldivers 2 has been great content
I mean I'm a simple man. I'm not buying ANY TLOU game for it's story. But I will immediately buy any TLOU that has factions and ALL it's DLC even if it's the broken ass Burst Rifle simply to support them. The story doesn't exist to me anymore after the first one, but I'll gladly spend my money on some more Factions.
Tbh I just can't bring myself to get excited about ND games anymore. Multiplayer could be confirmed for TLOU 3 and I wouldn't feel anything... There was a time I would have paid almost any price for a sequel to my favorite singleplayer AND multiplayer game, and just look what happened. It's almost like naughty dog doesn't like their fan base 🤔

I dont think Naughty Dog doesnt want multiplayer fans, its just the playing field has changed in terms of multiplayer nowadays and simple multiplayer modes are not common anymore. Im pretty confident we will still get multiplayer in the tlou universe. Obviously not as big as the cancelled one (which im fine with, never asked for it to be large like that) but maybe something more akin to the og in part 3 whenever that comes
baffling how they not only cancelled the online but seem to have actively managed to get people like yourself and many of us in the comments to feel, as you say, totally unwanted. Its nuts to me that a company would actively piss off their fanbase like this when we're a potentially decent source of money for them. Wall banging and crab walking needs to be eliminated and the game could thrive again. I've been playing the multiplayer since the PS3 days. My regularly play at least three to four times a week to this day. I've adapted to playing versus the modded controller cheater. However it's still annoying lol. People say that the burst rifle is OP I don't agree. Paired with a modded controller yes it will be OP. The gun I feel is the OP gun is the tactical shotgun. That thing has way too much range plus you're getting damaged behind objects. People don't realize the modded controllers with rapid fire work for basically any gun. Yeah the gun might not shoot like a variable but it's still getting off shots quicker. Also dudes claiming that their beasts with a rifle I don't buy half of their claims because with a modded controller as soon as you aim it takes a shot without actually pressing the trigger. I know they can't do anything about the mods for taking out the wall banging and the crab walking make it much more tolerable. It's just a shame cause this is the best multiplayer ever hands down. Oh I must add that it appears that the shots don't count like they're supposed to sometimes. I've hit somebody with 3 bursts and 1 revolver shot multiple times and they're still up. In some cases up close and personal which makes no sense whatsoever. It takes five shots close to medium range but yet 10 shots and the player is still up.
To think i was this close to joining the outsourcing dev team to support last of us online... So frustrated they aimed too high and decided not to go for it. We only asked for factions 1 to be remade. Do you know like 80% of the players dont even know there was a multiplayer. The crowd they could have gotten had huge potential.
They're honestly dumb for not even saying anything about the last of us factions game while the hype was there with the last of us now nobody really cares
there is a way to do that but the most commonly used is just spamming shoulder swap and your bullets go through the wall and you see the name and switching weapons while running for off radar unlimited sprint
Last of us was the last sane game made to just be an incredible game with zero political or cultural agenda. It was how i always wanted a survival game to portray the reality of what people would go through. Honestly it feels like another industry taken over by people who are only interested in spreading their caustic cultural bs while ensuring they dont give the majority anything they may enjoy.

I understand that Naughty dog isn't a really multiplayer focused studio, but COME ON. This gamemode rules.

I just want them to make an update for the original factions. Patch cheats like wall-shooting or crab-walking. I’d much prefer maintence on something that everyone loves as opposed to investing in a factions 2 that may or may not be as good as the original.

I’ve been a daily Factions player for years. Ironically, since “No Return” came out I haven’t returned to Factions at all. It seems NR has successfully replaced the one game that I’ve always come back to. I wonder if any other Factions players have this?
No Return kept me away for a while, but with no PVP it can't really replace Factions and I sort of love the way gunplay and gameplay is tuned in Factions a bit better. No Return largely makes me think about what Factions 2 might have looked like as I assume it would have had some of those elements.
I am totally not interested in playing against the machine when I could be playing against other people. It might be fun for a few days but PvP is better.
@@DrPooplove yea at first NR made me sad for the same reasons your other vid on that detailed. But now I appreciate it for what it is. And I think when I went back to try Factions it was the pace that I didn’t like as much. It’s so fast and I hate this so much but it’s so…cheat-y. I love that the AI never cheats and plays “realistically” as opposed to crab walking across the whole map to wall pop me in one burst rifle blast and then tea bag me like they earned it💩

Being the last one alive and then turning the match outcome the other way around is THE greatest feeling on earth, which made this game soo great. It could have been so much more then it was. I don’t get why it wasn’t more popular and it’s sad that they cancelled the new multiplayer game…

This is the best multiplayer ever. The lack of support and cheaters ruined it, I would be ecstatic if Naughty Dog just patched the cheats out. This game was the only reason I kept my PSN subscription for as long as I did. I have moved into the PC gaming space now and see little point in returning and resubbing to PlayStation any time soon. Sadly, I think you are dreaming if you are hopeful of a sequel in the near to distant future, but I really hope I am wrong.
had no idea servers were still up. i was on a couple sanchowest top 10 factions plays back in the day. uncharted and factions were some of my favorite multiplayer games ever. might consider getting a bigger hard drive so i can download TLOU.

Im new to factions but ive really enjoyed what ive played so far its honestly a shame they cancelled factions 2
After CoD multiplayer kicked me to the nuts (thanks to supply boxes and all that pay2win crap), I found myself playing tlou multiplayer every day, it was simple yes but it was such an enjoyment because of low supplies and teamwork 'n all that .. after 3 years I started playing again and already seen a few hackers, thats sad but its not every match so Im happy to play more
I just wish that factions mode was included in Part 1. I can't see why it wasn't in the remake. My biggest issue with factions is that it's on PlayStation. It's a good game mode, but not Sony pocketing 80 dollars of my money a year good. That and aiming with a controller with a maximum of 60fps all held it back from being truly great in my eyes.
With Part 1 having a PC port we could have gotten the perfect game mode, but that's probably never going to happen.
Greatest game I’ve played but the biggest reason why I stopped playing was the amount of idiots I used to get teamed up with.
We all have to move on at some point, 2013 was 11 years ago, some of us already have jobs or family, I started playing not long ago but I'm sure I will move on after some years just like the original players did.

I loved multiplayer on the ps4, I bought last of us p1 on sale and couldn't wait to finish the story mode and move onto MP. I can't believe they didn't include it in the PC version. It's like a slap in the face, then facing constant lag in singleplayer which I can understand since it's a port but still. You'd think these big companies would at least polish the game before porting it to PC.
I really do hope this lasts for a long time. Also uncharted 4 multiplayer. It feel like it's going to be shut down someday but I hope not any time soon

I'd really like to see another team take up the concept behind factions and do their own rendition. The want for it is there. And my trust in naughty dog has plummeted with how they handled factions 2.
Naughty Dog made great gameplay for TLOU2 and seeing the gameplay in a multiplayer with that engine I don't know why we couldn't just get a raw version of the multiplayer

I loved it, used burst rifle and semi auto mostly but I thought the purchaseable tactical shotgun was op. The tactical shotgun and the cheating finally broke me and I moved on. I wish this excellent multiplayer game would have attracted more support from Naughty Dog.
I started playing factions all the way back in 2014 and for me, it used to be the best multiplayer I had ever played. Unfortunately the mass amount of cheating caused me to stop playing. For me I could not get a lobby where there wasn’t anyone using exploits like speed crab walking and wall shooting. I tried to get back into the game like a year ago but the cheating has only gotten worse. It really sucks to see how Naughty Dog has completely failed in the multiplayer aspect for factions 2.
been playing almost constantly for 10 years and hardly ever encounter cheating. I know its rife because I see this comment a lot but I'm just puzzled as to why some people seem to see it all the time and others like myself, who doesn't play at at any particular time of day, barely see it. Maybe its because I stick to Supply Raid?
I agree there are alot of players that try to cheat like shooting through walls. But theirs only like 2 or 3 of them that are actually consistently good at it. Otherwise it's most just kids wasting bullets

This game was vaporware made to make it look like Sony is trying to compete and innovate but failing to do so. They're doing made this to sway the minds of the trade commissions and consumers to make the ABK deal seem anticompetitive.
Nothing will ever replace factions. But the finals has filled that void of an addictive tactical gameplay but in first person though. I’ll still support the channel and watch the videos especially since watching helldivers 2 has been great content

I mean I'm a simple man. I'm not buying ANY TLOU game for it's story. But I will immediately buy any TLOU that has factions and ALL it's DLC even if it's the broken ass Burst Rifle simply to support them. The story doesn't exist to me anymore after the first one, but I'll gladly spend my money on some more Factions.
No factions 2 kinda killed me on TLOU. Maybe if the story was better in pt2 I would want a 3rd game.

I’ve been playing factions since 2013 on PS3. Factions was the only reason I bought a PS5. Factions servers must never shutdown.

Tbh I just can't bring myself to get excited about ND games anymore. Multiplayer could be confirmed for TLOU 3 and I wouldn't feel anything... There was a time I would have paid almost any price for a sequel to my favorite singleplayer AND multiplayer game, and just look what happened. It's almost like naughty dog doesn't like their fan base 🤔

I dont think Naughty Dog doesnt want multiplayer fans, its just the playing field has changed in terms of multiplayer nowadays and simple multiplayer modes are not common anymore. Im pretty confident we will still get multiplayer in the tlou universe. Obviously not as big as the cancelled one (which im fine with, never asked for it to be large like that) but maybe something more akin to the og in part 3 whenever that comes

baffling how they not only cancelled the online but seem to have actively managed to get people like yourself and many of us in the comments to feel, as you say, totally unwanted. Its nuts to me that a company would actively piss off their fanbase like this when we're a potentially decent source of money for them. Not to mention that games should be made for passion and love, as the first motivation. Still a bit hurt over this and i usually don't get that way! this game, man....!

Why didn't they just ship it with the ps5 remake as well or add it on now. I played Fs on PS3 when you needed a cod to play the mp I still remember the first match. Wall banging and crab walking needs to be eliminated and the game could thrive again. I've been playing the multiplayer since the PS3 days. My regularly play at least three to four times a week to this day. I've adapted to playing versus the modded controller cheater. However it's still annoying lol. People say that the burst rifle is OP I don't agree. Paired with a modded controller yes it will be OP. The gun I feel is the OP gun is the tactical shotgun. That thing has way too much range plus you're getting damaged behind objects. People don't realize the modded controllers with rapid fire work for basically any gun. Yeah the gun might not shoot like a variable but it's still getting off shots quicker. Also dudes claiming that their beasts with a rifle I don't buy half of their claims because with a modded controller as soon as you aim it takes a shot without actually pressing the trigger. I know they can't do anything about the mods for taking out the wall banging and the crab walking make it much more tolerable. It's just a shame cause this is the best multiplayer ever hands down. Oh I must add that it appears that the shots don't count like they're supposed to sometimes. I've hit somebody with 3 bursts and 1 revolver shot multiple times and they're still up. In some cases up close and personal which makes no sense whatsoever. It takes five shots close to medium range but yet 10 shots and the player is still up.

To think i was this close to joining the outsourcing dev team to support last of us online... So frustrated they aimed too high and decided not to go for it. We only asked for factions 1 to be remade. Do you know like 80% of the players dont even know there was a multiplayer. The crowd they could have gotten had huge potential.

there is a way to do that but the most commonly used is just spamming shoulder swap and your bullets go through the wall and you see the name and switching weapons while running for off radar unlimited sprint

Last of us was the last sane game made to just be an incredible game with zero political or cultural agenda. It was how i always wanted a survival game to portray the reality of what people would go through. Honestly it feels like another industry taken over by people who are only interested in spreading their caustic cultural bs while ensuring they dont give the majority anything they may enjoy.
