Well, since we won't be getting that Last of us multiplayer project they promised, I guess I'll get back to playing this until the servers eventually shut down.
Factions is goated Only con is when you get shitty team mates and play after midnight and get clapped by the sweats but it is a super fun multiplayer that is hella unique
I remember getting TLOU for the the ps4 when I was 9 and looking at the multiplayer after I finished the game. I was engrossed in it for around a year and it was one of those games that just consumed my interest. I eventually left and got into overwatch coming back every now and then to see how factions was doing and throughout these years I’ve never found anything like it. A truly unique experience. I was with the crowd that thought factions was getting a sequel with TLOU2. I didn’t mind the story of the second game but I was still invested to see another faction type game. Now I’m turning 18 in less than a month and I have a craving to play it again. I miss content like NickEh30 which I would watch when I got home from school and there is something completely nostalgic about watching people play or talk about this game. My hopes for Factions 2 is that they keep the core gameplay modes. Maybe make hyper reworked models and add back old gameplay from factions 1 like they could’ve done for TLOU part 1. However I don’t mind if they keep the hunters vs the fireflies in those core gameplay modes but they should make new modes using Seraphites vs WLFs (keeping that rogue vs militia type feel). I would also like to see maybe some PvPvE maybe an infected player or a hoard mode. I used to concept with my friend years ago that it would be so fun to play as a clicker or other infected. The echolocation gameplay looked so cool in my mind. I hope they can be ambitious whilst not falling into potholes or corporate problems like games like Overwatch 2 have because I really want to be able to immerse myself with a self insert into the world of TLOU. Man I joined factions at around 2016 and played on and off since I had no PS4 to play it with other than when I went to my friend's house. I didn't know Factions had so many changes! This was a veeery interesting video, great job like always man.
I'm so sorry about Factions 2 getting canceled Dr Pooplove, never tried Factions 1 as it seemed way too hard for me but your videos made me want to try it at least before they shut down the servers
Another problem I have with factions is that when I play from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (central time US) 90% of the time I am matched up with players not from the United States. They are usually European or South American players and they either have zero bars of connection or two bars max, which gives them an advantage when shooting. The only way I can compete is to use my bomb expert class to compensate. And in order to do so I also have to have Lucky Break 3 just to make sure I will get parts when opening up a supply box. So my set up is Bomb X 3, Explosion X 2, which leaves only 1 point left and since I do have to try to shoot I use Reviver 1 instead of the Pistol or Enforcer.
Thank you for this video. It contains a lot of good info, some stuff that I have managed to glean since joining the community in ~2021, but a lot of new stuff that I did not know. Stay strong in the infinite wait for Factions II.
Great video of the history of the multiplayer I remember all of this, I hated when they nerfed the machete and made the sniper easier for scrubs to use aswell as when they “fixed” the smoke bombs from not affecting you if you jump over a crate
You know what? If Naughty Dog won't put out a re-freshed version of Factions, whats to stop a bunch of modders taking an existing third person shooter and creating a FACTIONS inspired game? Because NAUGHTY DOG have LITERALLY and REPEATEDLY * F A I L E D * us
@@lastofusclips5291 that would be ideal but (a) we, the player base (and the modding community) haven't got the power to make that happen, and (b) any legit company would run into Legal. Imagine if the modding community took "SW: battlefront 2" and created a FACTIONS mode for it. I'm think that weapon choice would be restricted to more resemble the Factions Weapons and nerfed - especially wuth regard to rate of fire- so they have a similar effect as Factions Weapon's. This would ironically make them more "movie"-centric. Han Solo's Hand Gun would become the revolver, the Classic Stormtropper E11 would be the burst rifle but with a single bolt like in the original movie's. The fast firing cooled rifle would become the Purchasanle ASSAULT RIFLE Whether or not high powered chatacters should be involved or not i don't know, i would say NOT- OR- they should be incredibly hard to unlock, or ONLY possible to unlock with a large number of points at Last Man Standing

It’s so interesting seeing the history of this game I love, I never knew any of this. I joined the game late I was only 11 when I started playing TLOU remastered that was in 2016 or 17 and I think I was 12 or 13 before I even started playing factions, so I missed those early days of factions. I wonder what it must’ve been to like to see the game get updated and changed in so many ways, I only ever got this one experience of factions, it was one of those games that never changed, it was what it was. And I loved it but I wish I could’ve seen it get updated or a new gun added or something rebalanced. The only update I’ve ever seen for factions was the ps5 compatibility update lol Hopefully if factions 2 ever actually drops I’ll get to be one of those players who get in really early and follow the game closely.
I'm going to make multiple comments. When starting this video I had just started a match (I only play Interrogations) and sure enough I find a wallshooter. This is a huge reason why people stop playing the game.
Am I tripping or did the Hunting Rifle scope function like it did in the campaign on the PS3 Factions, where you got the white circle and had to toggle the scope on? I thought I remembered that (back when the burst was absolutely poop). Maybe that's a Mandella Item. Sad this multi-player is old enough to Mandella over but whatever.
so glad someone made a history video about the forgotten history of TLOU, I too wanted to make a history video that went more in depth about the community and it's people, but I just never got around to it. Overall what a great documentary, I really like how you managed to fit everything from it's people, what naughty dog was doing, how the game changed over time, etc, all into two big videos. I would've loved to hear about the bobby barks tournaments/new generation of TLOU players in 2020-2022. Either way I enjoyed the story of factions with the best voice in TLOU Ps. I was also stuck on ps3 for a long time 🤧#PS3gang
I played TLOU back away in 2013 but I never touched Factions cuz I didnt had a good Internet conection, but seeing what happened to factions im sad than a very good multiplayer got forgotten by his developers, I wish than Factions 2 come out and play it (sorry for my bad english) Its nice that factions community its still waiting for Factions 2, I wish than ND gives Factions community what they deserve

There really hasnt been a multiplayer that kept me as engaged as factions did. I was a pretty dedicated apex player but nothing could compare to factions. The only game thats keeping me from going back right now is Hell Let Loose which is a squad based WW2 fps. I grew up watching my dad play medal of honor and watching shows like band of brothers so this game was right up my alley and its the only game i can compare to factions in regards to retention.
Personally I think the VR is the best weapon in the game then I’d say it’s the burst rifle. I say this because if you always land head shots nothing else in the game besides maybe the military rifle can out gun it because of the hit stun and how fast it is
But the burst does more headshot damage and is faster than the VR, genuinely any gun is better than the other if u can get headshots with it but someone who can land headshots with the burst is a beast of a player cause one burst can insta kill u
@@alyfarid5202I guess what I mean is that the burst rifle has a set speed for the bullets so once you shoot your shot it throws out three small bullets at the same speed always meaning that if a VR and a Burst rifle player both shoot each other in the head at the same time the VR should theoretically always win because it’s faster and has hit stun which would only allow two out of the three bullets to land from the burst rifle in a perfect headshot scenario. If that makes since. Two VR bullets are faster then the three burst rifle bullets in that one shot this is without sharp shooter. if both players land perfect headshots on each other with sharpshooter the VR still wins based on my knowledge and experience in the game. I main the burst rifle but I’ve had situations wear I land a perfect headshot on a VR player and they did the same to me at the exact same time and I go down first because there weapon has hit stun which makes the difference in which gun wins in a headshot stand off. 🤔 so this is why I believe the VR is the best weapon in the game in terms of regular long guns. Without a doubt the burst rifle is amazing though in the right hands you can take down team by yourself

I never played Factions when TLoU came out. I just recently starting playing it and it's one of my multiplayer game I play every other day. I'm loving it. But I think Factions 2 will be sick 🔥
Another issue is coming across players that are not affected by throwables, meaning they don't get stunned by smoke bombs or trigger placed bombs. I had a match today where I had bomb expert 3 and explosion expert 2. I had a bomb right next to the safe and the player didn't set it off and was able to unlock the safe. My teammates also noticed this as well. The same thing happened with smoke bombs where the same player was immune to being stunned where the smoke was thrown well within the radius. I also checked on the players connection status and he had full bars. So what is up with that? Is it lag or a glitch or a straight out cheat?
Factions 2 is looking like what the fans will not want to play. All this spent means they are going a different direction. It shouldnt take this long to make a game more polished with more games modes and weapons but nah, they want to focus on anything that gives monetisation
Fantastic video, thoroughly enjoyed this, I remember mckillers bubble theory video and it was a game changer, hope the devs are much more involved and create a good space for healthy discussion when factions 2 releases, one of the biggest areas that lacked attention was the community in factions 1 imo, I hope in the future they're more involved and listen to their playerbase - kudos dr pooplove 💩❤️
I doubt it if anything the fans will port factions on pc and make a server for it to keep the multiplayer alive potentially even patch the glitches and exploits. Although this might only happen once the servers for the multiplayer are down 🤔 sort of like how smash bros melee fans made slippi to play online

The Last Of Us Remastered is by far my favorite overall game, good multiplayer and story with lots of people on the servers all day long considering it's damn near 13 years old 😂
I heard they went a different direction, but they want to make sure they include a "Royale type" of mode in Factions II. They better include classic modes though.
What it seems is that they get so much into the story of 2 that they had to remake the game or change something stupid that was already done and they didn't care about the multiplayer
The Factions fanbase is about as passionate and loyal and the RE Outbreak fanbase, just a little less so. I still play Outbreak *online on my PS2* and that came out in 2003 😅

Yeah like just an upgraded Factions 2 and then they could take their time making some division-like experience. Would be the best of both worlds

Agility 3 had what the current Agility 2 has. In the past the second level was kind of in between Agility 1 and 3 and wasn’t really worth it
