    I bought the 1000 GSM towels about 2 months ago and love them. They dry well and the towel does all the work. I only have to use one towel for drying my car. Josh, this is the towel of choice and you will not be disappointed. Thanks for the review video.

    The 1000 gsm drying towels are good, obviously not the best, but worth the cost and obviously the convience of just having to walk into a walmart. Make sure you wash them first, can't believe how much the red bleeds. I had to run them through two wash cycles. If you're in Canada, the 1000 gsm twisted terry drying towels are the same as Canadian tire's Simoniz Platinum Twisted Terry Drying Towels that they sell for $24.99. Walmart selling for $9.99.

  • @golfboy83
    @golfboy83 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video with good info, thanks!
    I do have a question though: maybe I'm a little old school, but why do I not see any detailers on TH-cam that seem to use an Absorber type of PVA synthetic chamois? That's all I've used on any of my cars to dry them off or the past 15 years or so. I think I heard Scott at Dallas paint correction say that they'll scratch your paint, but they definitely don't! I like keeping it in the tube in my back seat, ready to dry my car if I go to a do it yourself spray car wash after work, or just ready to go in case I spill my drink in my car or something. I wash them with my clothes, and throw it back into the tube, always keeping it moist.

    • @matsudakodo
      @matsudakodo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here. They moved from chamois (like the Absorber) to waffle weave microfiber because the standard microfiber towels don't absorb anything, now those are out and the thick terry loop is back. We can blame the polyester fiber cartel.

    I have the other ones they have of that brand the blue drying towels and I have no issue with them at all and I use beadmaker dreammaker mix as my drying aid. I use the towel every week. Had it for a year. Still drys just fine and I paid 8$ on sale for 1. I have the detailing towels as well and those are a different story. They work okay for everything but paint. They leave so much lint behind and I've washed them with rags to riches and now I'm using Malco but they still kinda suck. Drying towels have been really good for me..

    See I was looking at those 1000 gsm drying towels last time I was at Walmart and they felt like sandpaper to me, my Walmart was also selling a chemical guys drying towel for I think 20 bucks and I’d have to go look but I believe it was 1000 gsm according to the bag. I washed it with rags to riches before I used it and used it today while doing a rinseless wash on my truck and it worked great, it did feel a little grabby especially on the tonneau cover but it worked amazing, almost as good as the gauntlet. But those towels for 10 bucks for Walmart just felt really rough and sandpaper like to me. But I keep seeing reviews saying that are good for general purpose stuff. Just can’t get past how stiff the fibers feel

    The glove is for wheels though not the paint of the vehicle. I have it and it works well. A lot of detailers use brushes on wheels. So I don’t see an issue with the gray side even though it feels stiffer . -thank you for the video

    You need to be careful when shopping also. I picked up a pack of “Pro elite” wax removal detailing towels. I failed to really read the package and only later found out that while they are microfiber towels they are 100% polyester so don’t absorb much water. Only 12x16 also so not much good except for dusting and maybe heavy use around the tires engine and such, to be thrown away when used up.

Companies will produce their products with lesser quality ingredietns to allow them to sell what appears to be the same branded product in more of a boutique type of store to lower the production costs. The red towels especially are heavy in red dye and it really shows in the slosh sink when the washer dumps the water into the sink. Some of my older light colored towels now have a very slight tint.
