You mention them not bringing up the butterfly effect, but oldest Scott does mention that nothing changed from his past after he initially kidnapped young Scott. If meddling with a past self would change your present, then *something* would have changed, especially after young Scott never had to fight an Ex.
This is actually in line with most theories of time travel. Especially those which have multiple timelines. In the majority, if you go back in time and change something, you are essentially creating a new branch in time which would have zero effect on your current self. The killing your past self paradox is not as much of an issue outside of the media anymore.
Also, the show was animated to the standards of a better anime by an anime studio that is known for its animation quality, so the animation quality of the show shouldn't have been that unexpected.
I want this on repeat forever.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off being a spiritual sequel to the movie is my headcanon too. It's definitely not a real sequel because O'Malley confirms so, and there are a lot of little differences even before the split, like new pick-up line at Julie Party and Crash and the Boys fell off. Scott definitely didn't fully grow up at the end of the movie(Ramona also), and I can see how they end up being the worst versions of themselves in this timeline.

But the thing is, scott takes off is a sequel to the book, bc the books HAD to have happened for old scott to even exist, its just old scott ended up creating a new universe through time travel shenanigans-
Also no the movie didn't make Ramona seem loveless towards scott the books made it seem that way bc in the books ramona isn't much of a character especially compared to the rest of the cast-
Well o mally already confirmed that the anime isn't a sequel to the comics so future Scott is just anime Scott from the future and plus the idea of future Scott being the Scott from the comics is just so baffling and a fuck you to the original comics that I struggle to see why people like that idea
@@jaydenlopez3636 there is no physical way for old scott to be anime scott, they have 2 complete different sets of memories and identities, one went through the story of scott pilgrim and the other didn't

@@crushersbutlessedgynow okay did older Scott even mention any other memories besides the evil exes something that Scott younger self was on pace to go though anyway and plus even before Scott was pulled out of the timeline a lot of stuff was different from the comics anyway.(I wish I can be more clear what I am saying but I suck at texting so I hope you can't understand what I am saying)
@@jaydenlopez3636 he was on pace too, but wasn't given the chance too. Him pulling scott into the future should have erased old scott immediately but it didn't. So either A. There is a full anime adaptation of scott pilgrim we never see or B. Its just a sequel to a book weve all already read and have..
Also small changes like ramona actually having a real personality don't immediately prevent this from being a different thing all together, its certainly a change but one that breaks anything.
@@crushersbutlessedgynow okay what about Scott actually rescuing kim from the rival school that is certainly a huge change that suggests that the anime is entirely different from the comics even before Scott was pulled from the timeline
