I just stumbled across this 4 year old video. Are there really a lot of petty crimes like car break ins in Maui? I have been a regular on Maui for 30 years and have always been told there is virtually no crime and it is extremely safe. I agree that you should never leave valuables in your car no matter where you are. I really enjoyed the video. Even though I am a regular visitor, I am always amazed how many great tips for future adventures I can find in videos like yours. Speaking of low crime, we visited Kona several years back and got there really late. The office to the condo's was closed and there was a sign on the door telling us what condo we were staying in and that the door was open and the key was on the kitchen table. I asked the guy in the office, who was originally from L.A., and he laughed and said "We have hardly any crime and leave doors open all the time. It's not Southern California".

Hi Steve.. In particular petty crimes against tourists.. I think the thieves see car break ins at the beach and hiking spots to be a "harmless" crime

Ok, you're getting hammered enough on your pronunciation. I've been to Maui 25 to 30 times and my trip always includes the following: if you want to stay at a condo , I stay at napili point . All million dollar views but mostly no air conditioning. We eat breakfast at the Gazebo. Park in the Napili Shores parking lot and walk towards the beach. Go to Leodas Bakery for mini pies and hot dogs or a sandwich for lunch. Take out on the pies. Eat pizza at Lahaina Pizza Company. I'm sure we all have our favorites. Those are mine.

Great travel guide! The Nakelele Blowhole looks really cool! If I get to drive over there at some point, at least I've had the narrow roads of England as practice!

the only thing he didn't mention on 340 was Julia's famous nut bread stand. It's a bright green building

You forgot to mention that many Rental Car Agreements don't allow you to take rentals into the more "remote" areas of Maui (like behind West Maui and beyond Hana). Break down in those areas, and your pretty much footing the bill for repairs and towing.

Please for the love.... if you are going to add music in the background of your videos, make it quiet enough to not interfere with us trying to hear every word you say.

If you choose to make the "Behind West Maui" drive, drive clockwise. It's much easier. Also, your car rental agreement is voided if you make the drive. Between Kaanapali and the blow hole is pretty good driving.

Highway 340 is not allowed in most car rental contracts, as it should be. The drive is very dangerous along the lengthy one lane section and has many blind curves, so don’t attempt this unless you are a highly skilled driver. I know this because I have driven Hwy. 340.

Love your videos. Ditch the cheesy background music. It is distracting and competes with your voice. An instrumental or much lower volume would help.

After spending time on the more authentic Islands, they make Maui look like a complete tourist trap, which it is.

You pronounced Nakalele correctly but BUTCHERED Kaanapali.
