      True indeed, but the main difference is the ES, and the Camry are not the same. The ES is technically based on the Camry chassis but it is stretched, Technically the ES and Avalon were really the same just different tech and the Camry was on a shortened wheelbase. I like both though.

    About a year and a half ago, I purchased a brand new (5 miles) 2023 Camry XSE fully loaded with all the options. Only thing missing is the heated steering wheel, not offered since I live in Florida. Pearl White, black top. I went with the 4 cylinder because of work commute and high gas prices. The V6 was an option but I dont think Im missing much on the V6 version of it. Especially for what I wanted it for. Im not gna be racing in it so I didnt feel like I needed the V6. Plus 4 cylinder was cheaper. Paid $41,000 for it. Fully loaded with the JBL package, HUD, red interior, sensors all around it. I respectfully disagree. Toyota/Lexus continually refine their products, they don't just roll out new products for the sake of saying they have a redesigned model. Extensive R&D/testing must be done, especially for their bread and butter sedan. I'm guessing their next one may be hybrid/electric only we'll see, hopefully they'll keep a naturally aspirated variant. The ES350 is still an excellent value in the segment, quiet, smooth powertrain, longevity and excellent resale vale (for good reason).

    • @JessicaHauserman
      @JessicaHauserman 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I agree to be honest. The new Camry took the previous generation and threw a bunch of Lexus styling and updates at it. I had a 2021 Camry XSE v6 and now am in a 2024 ES 350 F Sport Handling and the Camry is a way better value for the money, but you still do get quite a lot more in the Lexus that isn't even offered in even the newest generation. And while I haven't test driven a 2025 Camry, the Lexus is absolutely significantly quieter and drives like a TANK. The adaptive suspension works really well too. My personal favorites have been the much upgraded ML audio and the triple beam headlights that blow my mind away every time I drive at night... they work so well. And they move up and down depending on what level you're on. You don't get that in a Camry. Is it worth the price difference though? To me, yes. To most, probably not.

Do you feel like it’s sportier to drive and also why is it Lexus cannot put all wheel drive in their ES but Toyota has it in the Toyota Camry?

  • @capitalexotics

    The rear seats do not fold down not even 60/40. It only has the pass through.
    It also doesn’t have rear heated seats in even the top trim packages.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct on both counts. No Lexus ES has ever had fold-down rear seats for over 30 years. They have a structural brace there instead.

    • @capitalexotics
      @capitalexotics 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tonysterbenc I can deal with it not folding down, but on that rare occasion that you need to move things, for instance in winter, popping the summer tires for winter tires in the car to swap them at the shop, pain in the ass to have to use the suv for a one trip job.
      Also, why wouldn’t they want to add rear heater seats, I find that quite odd for a luxury brand car… I mean it’s an easy $500-$800 upgrade profit for Lexus. I hope the redesigned 2026 Lexus ES fixes hopefully both of these oversights.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@capitalexotics Fair point on the fold-down seat, but at least they've been consistent in believing luxury buyers valued the structural rigidity more. The heated seat, yeah, and it's especially odd since the higher-trim Avalons had it. I'd guess Lexus was placing a high priority on holding down the price line close to the previous gen ($40k base, low $50s loaded), and some equipment landed on the cutting room floor. But it's fair to question this particular choice.

    • @capitalexotics
      @capitalexotics 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tonysterbenc you know your stuff! I suppose you’re right that most luxury buyers of the ES are typically older and probably aren’t hauling around their winter tires. Or folding down their seats to load up the luxury sedan.
      Also, not that the 2026 ES will be exactly based on the new 2025 Camry with the 5th gen hybrid system, interestingly enough, it doesn’t even have rear heated seats as an option even on its highest trim… this may be some foreboding foreshadowing!
      The unveiling of the new 2026 ES, built in Japan can’t come soon enough! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for its redesign.
