    Lexus all day long. I'm the 2nd owner of 2002 ES300 with 185k miles. It has the same platform of the Camry. The amount of insulation/road silencing material is incredible. Plus my car has a strut brace and same non-folding back seat. In fact there is structural bracing behind the rear seat which makes it more solid. Whisper quiet, drives like new, especially with my new Michelin Defender 2 tires. As far as these 2 are concerned, for about 4K more the ES350 is worth it. The level of craftmanship, quality of materials is far superior than the Camry. The V6 is a proven a winner, super dependable. Cant go wrong with either, but for me im picking ES350.

      Have to disagree here. When comparing cars most people are most likely comparing based on a price point they can afford. Apples to apples comparison would be a comparison of two cars of similar price, what do both offer for that price.

    I wish I could have paid for the Lexus. The fewer trip to get fuel has been quite noticable in the new Camry. Comparing to my last sedan with a V6. I have heard other reviews comparing Camry to Lexus. Calling it Lexus like. I would not know. But I do know the 2025 Camry is a nice ride.

    I can get a 2022 ES-350 Lux (under warranty) for less than a Camry XSE/XLE (especially with dealer add-ons) and apply the saving to gas costs. Also, the ES won't require a traction battery - ever (I keep my cars a looong time). My guess is that a 22 ES will be less to insure as well. I think the total ownership costs will be less with the ES for these reasons. I drove the Camry XSE and didn't like the stiffness/elevated noise levels due to the 19" wheels. I wish 18" (or even 17" were an option). The Camry was a bit more fun to drive, but the ES is ultra refined and luxurious. I'll probably buy a used ES for these reasons.

    I bought a 2023 CPO Lexus ES350 with 7k miles because of the warranty 6 years unlimited miles bumper to bumper - the dealer experience - the V6 and the 8spd trans. My car has the premium package so has the big screen - folding mirrors - memory / heated / cooled seats - heated steering wheel - basically everything I need. IMO the luxury and ultra luxury are too expensive. I don't want a panoramic roof, nor heads up display. The Mark Levinson sound system I would like but not worth 10k price difference. The build quality is so solid I was actually shocked. Just close the doors or try to rock the car while sitting. That sold me! I will leave with this. I commute about 50 miles a day round trip and I am so relaxed in this car. It is not a sports sedan by any means, but who cares. That is not what it is designed to do. For what my needs are I don't think there is a better sedan out there for the price and quality. I highly recommend.

But it's not true that the differences you named were the only ones between the Premium Package and the hlgher Luxury trims. In fact, you missed some of the biggest differences: 3 extra quietness features (chassis Performance Dampers, dual-pane front glass, noise-reducing wheels), plus the upgrade from vinyl to fragrant semi-aniline leather upholstery. Whether it's worth thousands extra is up to you, but it is more of a difference than you acknowledged here.

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed Might be, but for example in my country the difference between highest trim Camry and highest trim ES is over 20k (Camry is 47k) ES is around 70k. While Camry has even better technology package, similar quality interior, sure es has some better materials and more of them, but it does not affect driving or comfort since both of them have leather even if it's nuLuxe (or w/e it's called), and better road noise and possibility for more speakers (mark levinson instead of jbl). I mean I understand the argument that es has something extra in some departments, but so does Camry, including updated power-train . I would even have doubts about buying es if they were the same price but in no world it's worth 20k difference, at that point if money is not an issue it might just be better to splurge on LS and get everything including a toaster (a little joke here). Of course it's my opinion, but I found weird how a lot of people in comments said, that they would all go for es, when I don't really see the reasoning. I am planning to upgrade to ES (probably), when the new generation hits in a year or two, I just hope that the quality can match the price that time. They might just made a mistake, by making the Camry this good this time around 😆

    Toyota made a big mistake going away from the great 4 cylinder, naturally aspirated, 8-speed automatic that got 40+ on a steady 65-70mph highway drive. I believe it is best to stay away from the Camry’s only option of a “hybrid” with CVT unless you’re going to lease the vehicle and get rid of it after three years. The Lexus at least has the 8-speed automatic and a non-hybrid engine. The 2023 Camry was the last “great” by Toyota in my opinion.

      I didn't choose the hybrid, but the "three years" comment is a silly take. Toyota warranties the hybrid battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles. And there are Prius cabs in NYC that have rolled up 300,000 trouble-free miles on the original battery. Yeah, it's unlikely to go 20 years without a battery swap, but it's an excellent bet to go 10, and reliability surveys say those miles will be low-cost and trouble-free.

      I have a 2012 Camry hybrid that I have never gotten anything close to the EPA claimed mileage. It is just 80,000 mi on it and it's starting to need the new hybrid battery replaced at a cost of $5,000. I don't want another hybrid it's not worth the money.

    • @WunKoolKat
      @WunKoolKat 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@tonysterbenc so after 8 years OWNER replaces the battery on an already depreciated car? Nobody would buy a car at that point knowing THEY would have to buy a $5K (probably $10K 8 years from now) battery. Not a silly take, but a realistic one.

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed it actually doesn’t anymore. Toyota got rid of that option. It used to be an OPTION and Toyota got rid of it. Government controls cars now for political reasons, forcing car manufacturers to squeeze out every mpg possible to the extent of cheapening body frames and other materials used. It looks like Mazda and Kia still have the 4 cylinder, naturally aspirated, real geared (non CVT) automatics. Buy them now before they too are gone.

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed you do realize the build quality on the Lexus is a far different animal than the Toyota? I’m still watching your video but when you watch like the fellow from Automotive Press the engineer do the gap study and just shutting and opening the doors between the Camry and an ES and how much more solid sounding that action is on the Lexus. Then explaining the manufacturing differences like the Lexus having over twice the weld points and it goes on and on. The evidence is clear there is very much difference between the two

      Obviously the Lexus is the next step up. But being Lexus/Toyota are part of the same company it's fun comparing there too similar cars. The ES picks up where the Camry leaves off and has the next step up in luxury. But lots of buyers are interested to see if it's worth spending more money for the Lexus. New Camry is a great choice and a loaded one in the low $40k range might be perfect for some buyers and they might not desire to spend more on the luxury version of the Camry, which is the ES. Depends on what people want
