Love the shows... We retired last year, I turned 59 two days ago and have been watching for months now. It gives me a glimpse of what I will call. The simple Life! We still have 2 addresses, 13 vehicles, including a bus conversion, and currently 4 golf carts. I keep asking my wife if she is ready to sell it all off and move to Florida. She always replies.. NO! I agree for now, but sometimes, I long for that simple life. For now I'll watch your show while fixing up one of the golf carts. We are going to license one of them for the road soon and go for golf c art rides and be like Jerry and Linda!
We are here for our lifestyle visit and are having an amazing time. We took a long cart ride to Sawgrass Grove last night and noticed that there were some pretty aggressive cart drivers on the paths. Especially around the tunnels. Thank you both for all the information which helped us to get down here.
Patio Villa neighborhoods are notorious for investors for VRBO or snowbirds to rent out in the summer. We bought a courtyard villa and asked the realtor/agent how many rentals/snowbirds were in the neighborhood- and he told me. The Villages agents know.
I would imagine the county would open cooling stations if power went out in summer. I live in Portland, OR. You can't hardly find a home that's less than $450k.
One way to check for rentals is to check the addresses near a property you are considering on the property appraiser's site. If it has homestead exemption, it's a homeowner. If it's not homesteaded or in the name of a corp. or LLC, then it's a rental (long term or short term investment).
Hi Jerry and Linda, we watch you every day. Thanks for all your shows. Since we saw the Villages in January we decided to move and have a new life partly from your video's helped us. See you when we get there.
Before I moved here A friend of mine who is a Floridian warned me that alligators can climb fences. I live next to a marsh, but I have a 10ft retaining wall on one side and about a 6-foot retaining wall on the other side below my metal fence. I still look around when I let my dogs out in the backyard. But I'm not that worried. If I lived on flat ground I would definitely be more careful.
You don't have to go to courthouse for that preowned home info. It is all online at the county appraiser's office. Enter address and everything comes up.
I’m finally here after watching you all these years! So beautiful - but the driving, both cars and carts, is insane!! And I’m used to driving in the big cities of SoCal!
On power outages: We spent a week in Spanish Springs TownPlace Suites in February 2023. There was a widespread 4 hour outages. If you absolutely require consistent power, plan on a generator. We will be installing one in our new home.
TownPlace Suites is NOT The Villages - it’s a private national business. If someone is ventilator dependent, would be the only need for a backup generator. Otherwise, You will not have problems with homes in The Villages.
@Mushkiepotamus As I stated, a widespread outages affecting the entire town square and surrounding homes. Just providing first hand info for those who want it.
@@johnpearson9020 I have first hand knowledge as I have lived in The Villages since June 2020 and have had ZERO power outages, even during the most recent MAJOR hurricane. I could never live in Florida for many reasons. The heat and humidity is foremost. This last winter here in Ohio only gave us two days of shoveling (3 inches) of snow. I can deal with that. Take us on a ride through Fernandina if you’d like. Looks like a very nice established subdivision in The Villages. I was never a Rachel Ray fan. So we’re you seated in the rafters with all the older folks? That’s kind of what I heard when you were talking about your experience. You don’t have to respond.
We have already had 2. We have one scheduled for January but are sold out. Our next 1 will be announced really soon. If you follow us on Facebook you'll see it.

Did you bring Christmas crafts and decorations that the kids made. Any advice for “trimming the fat” as Jerry would say? Trying to get rid of excess things. It’s overwhelming!
Jerry - I got T-boned for the first time this summer season. It was medium rare and delicious. How many people have been eaten by alligators this year? I have heard of one incident being reported back to Canadian news. Poor lady. Her dog escaped the attack. Linda - there may be a lot of Linda's out there, but these days you must be grateful your parents didn't call you Karen. lol

The hosts REALLY give valuable information.
Thank you Kenneth, what a nice thing to say.

Fun show as always! I know some of your subscribers get upset with the salty emails, but wow today’s salty comment had me busting a gut laughing. Cheap toupee! 😂 What makes it funny is how you both react to these comments. Hubs and I can tell you both know comments like those are about the person commenting, not about you. Thanks for making our Monday/Thursday lunch times so enjoyable. We are loving our retirement here in TV, and are here mainly because of your informative vlog that we’ve watched since the beginning. 🤗
Thank you Lynn! We are so glad that you are happy here. We really appreciate your kind comments and your generosity. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey great video and guess what I'm in the villages house hunting and I like Rachel Ray to and my doggie loves rr dog food too,
Take us on a ride through Fernandina if you’d like. Looks like a very nice established subdivision in The Villages. I was never a Rachel Ray fan. So we’re you seated in the rafters with all the older folks? That’s kind of what I heard when you were talking about your experience. You don’t have to respond.
Yes, we most certainly were.
When is your next planned cruise? I remember when you put together the first one but sounds like you had a second one.
We have already had 2. We have one scheduled for January but are sold out. Our next 1 will be announced really soon. If you follow us on Facebook you'll see it.
I'm a Canadian snowbird who would welcome the opportunity to chat and offer my opinions about The Villages. I'm back in Canada, so we'd have to Facetime. Cheers. Mark Kahansky.
Did you bring Christmas crafts and decorations that the kids made. Any advice for “trimming the fat” as Jerry would say? Trying to get rid of excess things. It’s overwhelming!
No. Get rid of em... and don't feel guilty.
Spam represent!!!!! ❤ My uncle won a Spam recipe contest once! 🎉
Jerry - I got T-boned for the first time this summer season. It was medium rare and delicious.
How many people have been eaten by alligators this year? I have heard of one incident being reported back to Canadian news. Poor lady. Her dog escaped the attack.
Linda - there may be a lot of Linda's out there, but these days you must be grateful your parents didn't call you Karen. lol
Right. That nonsense is grossly unfair to everyone named Karen.
Good morning 😊
Woo whoo! I'm up early 4:18 am PDT!
Any idea about what percent of the homes in the Villages are short term rentals (30 days or less)? Thanks.
We have no idea. I'm guessing less than 10%
Hello sweet couple!
We love your videos.
This one though lacks clarity, almost like we are looking through a greasy lens. Are you using a filter?
You 2 look great just the way you are!
Thank you so much Vernita. No, we don't use any filters. Perhaps you said it… a dirty lens or something.
@@JERRYANDLINDA You certainly do not need filters! We have had a great time watching your show.
We will be there for 2 weeks in November and will be on the lookout for our 2 Village celebrities so we
can say Hello and thank you! And the golf cart riding videos are great for us inexperienced folks!
See you when you get here!
Enjoyed the show❤
My Favorite Sister in-law is a Linda, we call her lynn, Jerry Also a fighting irish fan, all my ballcaps are ND.

Hi What happens if your golf cart break down lets say 4 miles from your house is there like a AAA golf cart service or a service that will tow it back to your house
There are a bunch.
Great show, as always. I think Sam was projecting his very own Blowhardness!
