Advice to Paul- lease an apartment at the Lofts of Brownwood for 1 year. After 6 months, you can end your lease without penalty if you buy a house in The Villages. During that time you can walk over to Brownwood Paddock Square every evening. We did. You’ll find bands you prefer, and it may not be Rocky and the Rollers or Spasmatics. Enjoy the adventure and give it a tryout!
Thanks for the advice. We booked a rental home in April as a starting point. The whole draw of TV is less house, fun lifestyle and freedom to travel once we retire.
Update: We were able to purchase a veranda home with a fenced large yard and view! We close this month but don’t know yet when we will move. Yay! Our dogs will love the yard and we can build a pool someday if we choose. We bought in TV because of both of you. See you when we get there!
@@JERRYANDLINDA Linda you should bottle some of that smile and attitude and sell it. It's worth some good money these days. We hope to see it in person in October when we come for a second visit.
It's not that you'll get tired of the songs, it's just that you get involved with so many other activities that you don't go as often. I thought I would go to the squares every night once I moved here. Now I go when I have visitors or when meeting nice people like Jerry and Linda for a meet and greet! ❤❤ Yes, I have my calling card also. It's a great way to have Friends get in touch. The entertainment here is outstanding! Solved thepuzzle! That sandwich looked soooo good! Great video Jerry and Linda as always!
Great show Jerry and Linda. I cant wait for more of the "Out and About". Looks like its going to be so much fun. Gizzy please feel better. Sending lots of hugs and love to you Gizmo, hoping for you to feel better soon.
Hey Jerry, Linda and Gizmo. Happy 45th anniversary guys. That’s a great idea. Jug a milk. Or milk, bread, egg, cheese and butter 😂. Gonna listen and enjoy as I cook. Thanks for I’m sure a great show. Now off to the kitchen I go.
When DeLuna opened up I went and looked at many homes. I put offers on two homes that did not go through, but on the third one I got it. So you just have to keep trying. Truthfully that third one was the best of the 3 and was meant to be. My Villages sales agent Terri Alderman actually put my name on it before she even called me about it. She knew I would love it so she did that and I did end up getting it even though I was number two. So don't give up. 😊 I will be 67 this week also.
Been here 6 years… the entertainment is outstanding the talent amazing especially the clubs like the jazz clubs the BeatleManiacs club haven’t been to classical yet but heard good things- rock, country, R&B great
Happy 45th Anniversary..have a wonderful week filled with love and family and friends...hugs to gizmo❤from a Indiana girl living on the Virginia Tennessee line
Thank you for showing us in front of The Big Board. It is a fun tradition to be photographed in front of the board- but more fun is the New tradition of having that photo broadcast on your show. We are so happy to have finally moved here. Keep up the great work!
Good to know there are breaded tenderloin sandwiches in Florida. Texas is clueless! We had a few places in Arizona to get one when we lived there. I’m from Indiana and Love them! 👍
A realtor in The Villages Robyn Cavallaro did a video about her experience going to a night golf event. The ball lit up internally like if it had a battery and a light inside. She had to bounce it to turn it on. And then the hole flags had a glow thing on them. It looked like SO much fun!
This is for Paul, Great question Paul. We have been to The Villages and like you feel in love with everything. When we got back home we really started to make our pro and cons list. We live in Southern Delaware. We had concerns over the home owners insurance issues in Florida. It can become very expensive. The other item we did not like was real estate taxes. When you purchase a home in The Villages you are paying taxes based on the sale price. The taxes on some of the homes we would have been interested in would have been around 6,000. So for those reasons we decided to scale down and buy a new home in Southern Delaware. Real Estate taxes are very low and there are not issues with Home owners insurance. Also we are tax free here in DE. We would maybe consider going to rent in The Villages in the winter. Paul, good luck in making your decision. Linda and Jerry have a great community of viewers who will point you in the right direction. Sue in DE
Thanks for the information. Our worry is not taxes or cost of living, that seems like a wash based on our current home. It is being further from family and leaving a home we have rebuilt completely on our own. But now, the thought of not remodeling and instead live a lifestyle that is for us is very appealing. Our children are 100% supportive and told us to start living for ourselves. Next step is a month rental in April. One step at a time.
I love watching your channel! It would be great to start a night golf club at least for fun. I have never played golf but we are closing on a new home in June and would love to learn how to play! Keep up the great work. Hoping to watch all your shows before I come down, you guys are so helpful. Thank you.
Good morning, Jerry and Linda. I like your new segment “Out and About.” I want to say to the viewer who is struggling with making a decision to move to TV. We are struggling as well because TV us a beautiful place to live out your life but we have concerns about cost. That is cost of home insurance which we understand has tripled and the lack of hospitals for TV. Those are the things you should investigate thoroughly. Those are my two cents. Thank you Jerry and Linda for another fun show. Have a blessed week. 🙋🏻♀️❤️
We have those same concerns too. Another concern for us is our old age even though we feel young. We’re 85 now and if we moved it will be our last move and TV will become our forever home. What if we’re not happy there ? 😮
I’m playing the game of catch up on videos bc l was just in Beaufort, ( Parris Island ) for a long weekend. I am saying this bc if you haven’t gone there Beaufort , SC you may like it . Congratulations 🎉 on your anniversary. BTW When we drive up i95 l see wild hogs along the highway in GA
Also, for those in recovery or dealing with an infirmity, there are several support groups throughout the Villages and it’s very easy to start one. It’s great for support and also for socializing. LGBQ ethnic groups too all accepted. The place has a lot to do and you can find your “tribe” as one gay friend told me here.
In NY there was a small drive-up shed...Dairy Barn... you could get milk, eggs and other dairy products and there was a refrigerator/freezer they would keep their inventory in and they also had snacks and ice.... and brewed coffee!!! It was great....drive through on both sides with sliding doors!!
I'm not there yet, but my vision board is being made as we speak. I love your show and you are both helping me to make this move to TV a priority for planning purposes. I'm on the three year plan, and I hope to execute accordingly. Thank you so much for all of the information you give weekly. I have several questions which I will send via email. Thank you!!!
Paul- we are in the same boat! Trying to make the decision when to pull the trigger. Making our second visit at the end of Sept... to keep the dream alive and see how we feel.
*Jerry and Linda Happy "45th" Anniversary* *You two are such a Happy Couple* ! *I hope one day, we will be able to meet you two , from Debbie and Jerry , Southwest Illinois*
I really like my home in St Catherine. I can walk daily to Clifton Cove to practice lag putting, to Ezell to work out, and to Darlins for an ice cream or cookie fix. I have the Scramble. I am headed for Charlotte or Miona to fish before it gets too hot.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if different Universities brought their lectures to The Villages live or via media. Free education, stimulation for the mind AND a great way to meet other Villagers with common interests!
Happy Anniversary ❤🎉😊 I do believe there is a time limit of 30 continuous days for anyone under 18. This is part of Florida law for all deed-restricted communities 55+ the same is true of the 80/20 real where at least 80% of the residents must have 1 person over 55. I think the purpose is so that in a 55 plus community small children living there continuously. Honestly, I don't know anybody who goes around and checks. I think someone would have to go say, someone tells grandchild been here for more than 30 continuous days🤪 I could be wrong but I do believe that is the correct answer.
Hi! Thanks guys been watching u ever since my hubby got me interested. Your show is so entertaining. Love your subjects and of course gizmo is my favorite part. He’s so cute. Thanks for the video! Walmart does have a grocery pickup for your jug of milk. I didn't know about the liquor drive in though, thanks! Hi Jerry and Linda! My wife and I were in the Villages for the better part of July checking it out and we both love it. On the way home we realized we forgot to ask 1 question and we re hoping you might have the answer. Our question is, with the RC boating lake at Everglades rec center, can we go and use the lake for RC boats any time during the day when it's not being used for a club or club activities? Much thanks and keep up the great work! Chad & Lisa
I think we've had this candy conversation before. I've pulled off a crown a couple of times by eating taffy. Now, no more taffy for me! I don't remember how much the dentist charged to put them back in, but I think it was $60-ish. That's expensive taffy!
Hi juys Jerry when you get to our age you have to be careful what you expect your teeth to do. I love toffee myself that's what we call taffy. Mint is my favourite keep up the great work guys love your videos 👍👍👍
Advice to Paul- lease an apartment at the Lofts of Brownwood for 1 year. After 6 months, you can end your lease without penalty if you buy a house in The Villages. What are rents for 1 and 2 bedroom apartments in The Lofts?
Thanks for the advice. We booked a rental home in April as a starting point. The whole draw of TV is less house, fun lifestyle and freedom to travel once we retire.
Is there a waiting list for the Lofts.?

It is always a good time to purchase in The Villages. You are not buying a house, you are buying a community.

Happy belated anniversary. Per Wikipedia: Is a donkey also called a jackass?
An adult male donkey is a jack or jackass, an adult female is a jenny or jennet, and an immature donkey of either sex is a foal. Jacks are often mated with female horses (mares) to produce mules; the less common hybrid of a male horse (stallion) and jenny is a hinny.
Thanks for another great episode. Look forward to more of the new segment “Out and About”. Hoping you go to some coffee shops in the future. I need to find where the best lattes are!
I hope so too!
Shout out to Mike... We live in Mn also...😎🤩
My husband is from Indiana and we found the biggest and tastiest pirktenderloin at 441 diner.. And in the parking lot is Twistee Treat!!!
On our way!!!
We have something called Dari Mart and one has a drive up lane. So handy.
Got it! One of my favorite places. :)

Looking forward to moving our gear in and home inspection after our Seattle redeye flight midweek

It is a quaint place, with inexpensive food. One of the few places you can go eat without breaking the bank.
