So he moved in with his mother, quit his job and created a fund for the children from the marital property being sold when the last child reached 18. That's what you do for your kids. Take the L and provide for their future. So the wife had no choice but to go and rent once the children turned 18 and there was no supposal support because he quit working. He just had the assets liquidised into the children's fund. That way she couldn't get at it. She did get a chunk of his pension though. That's what happens when you have a housewife and she decides to leave after 18 years. She's entitled to 18 years payment for childcare.
