Thunderers don't use rifles. They use handguns. That's why the handguns have less range than crossbows. Rifling in a breechloading weapon makes much more difficult to load and exponentially reduces the reload time.
The only rifles in Warhammer Fantasy are Hochland Longrifles. All other blackpowder small arms are either handguns or pistols.

That was pretty amazing! A proper cinematic battle! I was not expecting this to be so much like a movie. Great work, great narration and interesting story and I also loved that you also spoke of the aftermath of the battle and their possible feelings and grief.
Personally I would love to see a High Elf battle or an Empire one with a heavy usage of artilery and firepower.

Would love to see an honest Border Princes army do battle against some orks.
