Vinny V 1080p is very realistic and probably the benchmark like 30fps is however I’d say 720p is still pretty good 8k gaming won’t be as normal as 1080p is for another 20 years lol

very few games on xbox 360 were 1080p. Like, very few. I think the call of duty games were 540p, just slightly higher than SD.

Best Buy said a new one connect box would be given to me, then I read that it was HDMI 2.0, but supported 8K so I don’t know what’s going on. Also I read the RTX 2080ti only does 8k via display port, so I don’t know if I need a DP to HDMI cable or what lol

I must have bad vision, because 1080p is more than enough for me... 720 even usually suffices depending on the screen size. 4k seems needed only for very very large displays like 65 inch plus.... 8k... That's just ridiculous.... The amount of processing power..... I mean in all frankness. an 8k tv is equivalent to having 16 1080p monitors running all at once.... lol

@@ai-eve Real estate, sharpness, and much more, beautiful for gaming especially if you can handle it, especially MMO's. As for "Seems needed" gamers have it on 27" - '32" monitors due to the PPI it gives an ultra feel to it, 1080p on a monitor of 27" or above looks horrendous IMO since I have pretty good vision. 2k is where people start to push at that point ( 2560x1440) which most cards can easily handle.

To be fair, a large screen across the room from you is more likely to benefit from the extra pixel count. If you had a 60 inch monitor you would probably need 4k :D

8K coming and i haven´t tried even 1440p yet.
Making the jump to 1440p from 1080p will still be very pleasant. Did it 3 years ago. If you have never seen 4k you wont miss it till you experienced it for the first time and got used to it. Vast majority is still at 1080p for gaming.

Yea im sure.... Fuc i live in Ontario were our top gpu is last years top model in the southern US, were the GtX 750 still cost $150 and a GtX 1050 ti is still $350. I got my first 1080p TV back in 2009 (2k=1920X1080) and finally a 4k in late 2017 3840X2160. Im sure your watching this in a resolution close to 1024X768 that i was using back in 2002 on my PC lol

To be fair, he was arguing that 4K gaming wasn't worth the processing headroom vs. 1080 with good AA, particularly if you were remotely hardware limited. I actually agree with that as I use a 4K HDTV as my monitor and went back to 1080 with AA after realizing it's a minimal difference in game but makes a world of difference in framerate on high settings.
