TV will always have better picture quality than projectors but personally I would still choose a projector in this size. I'd be worried having that huge TV surface ready to be hit with something hard 😄 I also hate when in dark scenes, you see your reflection on the TV.
@@BlackMamba-gx4zl Obviously that's one of the things you'll think of 😆 Imagine watching a horror film then it goes dark and you see a different reflection 😂
If you’re willing to put in the money, a 4k projector that can give you 120hz and Dolby vision is minimum $3000 and then the screen for a 4k @ 120in will run you another $2000 and then you also have to build a sound system that can run upwards of $1500.
I have the U8H (previous model version) and the quality is amazing, also you can play gamea at 4K 120hz and there is a game mode which lower’s the latency.
Yeah, get close and turn your neck to see or move back for normal forward picture view. Just get a smaller tv and be closer to it, same shyt and smaller screens have higher dpi and looks better for less money. Its like having a lifted trucj with 30" rims... why? Its cheesy
The only advantage? What about no reflections, easier on the eyes, cost (1080 p projector with screen and Bluetooth 5.1 surround sound system $344), portability (you can take a projector anywhere. I purchased my projector, put in my backpack and carried it home on my back. Try that with a 100 inch tv.)
@@TheMeefive valid, I guess I mean strictly for a living room but yea projectors are defiantly more versatile! I have one and I love it, taking it outside doing like a drive in type deal is a blast.
The experience is quite different also. Flagship TV's have better picture quality but they feel like watching TV, a projector feels like being at the cinema.
There's something you can't quite put your finger on with projected image - might be because of the cinema connection, I don't know, but it's not comparable to a TV at any size. It just has a totally different feel to it. I see why some people prefer it, but feature wise, certain TVs destroy projectors hands down, especially when it comes to gaming, VRR etc. For gaming, the right TV is the clear winner, but for film/TV, it's a very subjective thing.
Really cool TV. Only for people with big living rooms though, as sitting too close to something this big, wouldn't be the deal. I have a 65", and it already looks like a beast on my living room. Although I have enough wall to set it up, I don't have enough space to allow for the viewing separation that would allow people to appreciate this beauty of a TV.
Wow. I became a fan of Hisense when I bought a 58 inch cheapo Hisense for less than $300. Just a bedroom tv. But god damn, this tv is sweet. I have a LG Oled, too. So I know what good looks like. I end up gaming on this one more often lol. The oled is beautiful, no doubt. But when it comes down to it, I’m indifferent when it’s game time and will sit in front of either for hours. My next big tv will be Hisense. Great software, great color, great panel
Didn’t know they made this in 100 inch, but the U8 is fire. I have an older model U6 75” in my living room and it’s a pretty nice QLED! Wish I got the U8, though. Dont sleep on Hisense!

Hisense is one of those semi secret brands among TV/home theater enthusiasts. They make excellent tvs at a great price. :Edit: goddamn I ruffled some feathers 😂. Look it's not just my opinion, most reviewers and rtings have had positive results with Hisense TVs too. They have excellent local dimming/brightness/color. To each their own, but my experiences with Hisense have all far exceeded expectations for the price point I was purchasing them in. Is it my main TV? No. My main TV is an LG Oled. But my other tv's are Hisense or my older Plasmas.
Really? Both of the ones my parents bought burnt their back screens within a couple months of purchase. $300 fix so $900-$1000 went down the drain. They fucking suck.
Chinese trash. If you want a quality discount brand, go TCL. Made in USA, and their actual screens are manufactured by Samsung (or at least they were for years, not sure if they still are). I have one 1080p and one 4k that I've had for years now. Roku included. Better quality than Hisense or Vizio for sure.
If u have anything under 50 inches as ur main tv, what the hell are u doing? When I buy a house, I’ll get a 120 inch in living room and 60 inches in bedrooms
"It's pretty comfortable sutting right here" Well, yeah, you're sitting a Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair. As I recall those are pretty comfortable. If I had one, I would sit in it quite often.
You're subtly made aware whenever niche and extremely premium products are being reviewed. Unmistakably, the background music is slightly jazzy and a tad sophisticated like in some Nigella Lawson cooking episodes when she's done with her fancy talking for the moment and the camera zooms in and out of cutlery/potted plants/decroative lights.
If u own U7H, u will be SHOCKED to see how U8H n U8K look like. I have seen them in store. Because I have U7H. It’s hard to go to diff brands after cuz just other brands dont have d vibrant butter smooth color.

There are a few things here that are crazy: 1) I grew up in a time when a 32" color TV was a big screen. Not a Big Screen, like a rear projector thing. But 32" was big! And nearly square. Now we have a nice large pretty rectangle. 2) These tube tv's were also wide, but in the other ways. Like from the side. And god damn heavy. If you've never had to move a tube TV you are LUCKY! 3) I might actually be able to afford a ONE HUNDRED INCH TV in a few years. Tell 10 year old me that. I dare you. Hope you like screaming. I might actually be able to have a freaking screen the about the size of what you'd see at my local mall in the 90s....right in my living room. Nice.
I think, The 100” U8K panel has worse black levels! When I have purchased the TV I was very exited thinking that I’m getting the great U8K series picture quality in 100” size TV, but after receving the TV I found out that the panel on the 100U8K is totally deferent than the one on the 65”U8K that I saw on display at multiple Best Buy stores! Any one can tell by looking to the panel even when the TV is turned off, the 100” panel has a cheap plastic look with kind of some flexibility and it doesn’t have the inky black color with a glass look that I saw on the 65” U8K, you can see the deference in the materials clearly by looking to the edges of each panel, on the 100U8K you can see that the panel is behind the TV frame with no glass looking layer on top of it, while on the 65” U8K you can see the glass looking layer on the TV screen and that is very clear when you look at the top and side edges of the screen, also you can see the deference in the panels colors between both, the 65” U8K has a very deep inky black color while the 100U8K has a regular LCD color like any old type LCD TV. At the begining I thougut that maybe the 100” size has a deferent design and it should deliver the exact same picture quality, but I realized that that I was mistaken at the moment I turned the TV on, the picture was way too different than the 65” U8K, on the 100U8K the blooming is obvious, the colors are lifted, the black is nothing like the 65” U8K, and the contrast is worse, even after spending about 4 hours calibrating the TV colors and contrast to get the U8K picture quality. In my opinion, part of the bad picture quality on the 100U8K because the screen panel material color is not inky black like the one on the 65” U8K, which makes the blacks on the 100U8K looks like very dark gray rather than black, because normally the way to display a black color on an LCD screen is to block the backlight from going through the LCD at the black color part of the picture (shutting off the screen at the black part) also by turning off the backlight at the black part of the picture as well on some TVs that equipped with a local dimming zones technology, in other words the LCD panel (and the backlight on some TVs) will be turned off completely if you tried to display a 100% full screen black color, which logically yields that the depth of the black color on a an LCD TV has a direct relation to it’s LCD natural color, which at the end will effect the general picture quality and the depth of the colors at the end. I think the easiest way to have an idea about the deepest black color that a TV can achieve (and that’s something totally different from the contrast) is simply by turning it off and see how black the screen is, and that exactly what you will see on the 100U8K panel. Bottom line, I believe I understand why the 100U8K has such a low price, and most likely I’m going to return it and get a 98” from TCL for the same or a lower price if I want to get a low picture quality with a deeper black levels or I’m going to get the 98” QM8 for a higher picture quality. Also I have noticed that the screen has uneven surface, you can see that clearly in the lighting reflections on the screen, it supposed to be flat screen but it’s not and that’s why the lights reflection looks wavy. You can check my 1 star view at Best Buy for some pictures of the panel edges from my 100U8K and for the pane edges of the 65” U8K as well as a picture showing the reflection deference on the material for both TVs.
I 100% agree as I had this tv also. My unit had multiple qc issues along with blooming, dse, and lifted blacks. The motion was atrocious as well as I tried to watch Baseball playoffs and the screen would stutter every few seconds it was unwatchable. It is cheaply built and in my opinion the processor cannot keep up with the unit. I had other issues like screen rapidly going to all colors and blotches. My unit was a real mess!!
I had the same problem I bought the 100” U8k returned for the 98” tcl led $500 less on sale or same price same picture quality better processing no problems like Hisense 100”U8k … Too damn HEAVY also !!!!! 157.9lbs feels like 250lbs bs!!!! Who cares about the speakers 🔊 that’s why it’s so damn heavy!!!!!!! Also had problems with loading contents and very slow sometimes freezes… pictures quality is not that great as all the reviews on the smaller sizes I’ve seen on TH-camrs…. Guess u get for that price u have to sacrifice a lot of stuff on that tv … but maybe for price can’t complain just go with it if u want that 100” just wait till u have issues and more issues on the TV
@@jasonmceeable I think if they concentrate less on the stupid loud speakers 🔊 more on picture quality which all these TVs we all buy separate surround sound speakers anyways which makes the tv 50lbs more than other TVs close that size they would be better quality tv 📺 in my opinion and can hang up the tv without worrying so much about the DANM weight !!!
In case anyone didn't know, as a former Best buy TV sales rep, always know that the cable programming format is still only 1080p, not 4k. So no matter how advanced your tv monitor is, you're still only get the format of program the content is providing. For example channels like METV, Hallmark and Freeform format programming is still 480p. Any 4k tv will still give you the best quality picture cable is providing right now until the format changes in programming.
I have the same television, much smaller at 55". Great tv with an amazing picture for the price but the glare is almost unbearable. So for my larger tv I went with s90c. I couldn't imagine watching this tv during the day it would definitely have to go in a basement.
After using an projector for many years, at 120 inches, the biggest problem I have going back to a TV is the terrible reflections I can see so clearly now. Even in this video I see the light sources, you, etc. Using the Formovie Theater with a nice UST ALR screen is not quite up to TVs with ambient light, but it really isnt as far off as you might expect. With controlled lighting my projector looks absolutely insane and near oled levels for contrast.
I don't know about near OLED performance. Blacks will never be anywhere near that with the types of projectors we have. I have two, a 4k BenQ UST 120" and a long throw 135". They are still sweet but OLED is a whole different thing. I would go OLED if a 110" came out and wasn't $10k+. Edit: holy ish this is $3k. I am almost certainly buying this. That black bezel is annoying but I think I'll pull the trigger.
The blacks my Formovie Theater projector show are insanely black. Are your projectors laser and what kind of screen are you using? I would assume you are using an UST ALR screen, right? @@getstuk87

Hisense make amazing TVs, mines still running great from over 5 years now.
TV will always have better picture quality than projectors but personally I would still choose a projector in this size. I'd be worried having that huge TV surface ready to be hit with something hard 😄
I also hate when in dark scenes, you see your reflection on the TV.
Why? Are you scare that one day you’re gonna see someone standing behind you when a dark scenes pops up?🌚
@@BlackMamba-gx4zl Obviously that's one of the things you'll think of 😆 Imagine watching a horror film then it goes dark and you see a different reflection 😂
@@AninoNiKugi You might think it's your own reflection until you wave and it doesn't wave back, then you know you're done for.
If you’re willing to put in the money, a 4k projector that can give you 120hz and Dolby vision is minimum $3000 and then the screen for a 4k @ 120in will run you another $2000 and then you also have to build a sound system that can run upwards of $1500.
Projectors are better I think, cheaper, bigger and no glare
I have the U8H (previous model version) and the quality is amazing, also you can play gamea at 4K 120hz and there is a game mode which lower’s the latency.

Can NOT image how wonderful and immersive experiences of movies and games at front of this BIG 100 inch Mini LED Hisense U8 TV with a good bargain.
Yeah, get close and turn your neck to see or move back for normal forward picture view. Just get a smaller tv and be closer to it, same shyt and smaller screens have higher dpi and looks better for less money. Its like having a lifted trucj with 30" rims... why? Its cheesy
Yea the only advantage projectors have is screen size so this is impressive!
A $344 projector will not come anywhere close to the quality of this 100" tv. PERIOD.@@TheMeefive
@onehandwashestheother just for a TV ? 😅
Nah we would all get this if we had enough money and space

I had a 75 inch from hisense for 899+tax, they are a good brand and great value.
50 more inches and i can replace my projector. Let's gooooooo
There are a few things here that are crazy:
1) I grew up in a time when a 32" color TV was a big screen.
Nice.
love it you might be As Hillbilly has me TV on the center blocks!
TCL definitely your. I made the switch, the best deal I ever made.
I had the same problem I bought the 100” U8k returned for the 98” tcl led $500 less on sale or same price same picture quality better processing no problems like Hisense 100”U8k …
Too damn HEAVY also !!!!! @@bucclao209 Wow !! Im sorry you had the same problems I had. Looks like they have huge quality control issues!!

That tv with nachmachi dragon sound bar hooked up. I think awesome would be the word I would use.
Talk trash but your projector is outclassed by this TV too. Projectors have terrible black levels and contrast overall.
