    Pro-racers need the forks to be stiff, this is not really an armature bike.

    I have 5 Tm from 2019 to 2022 125 Mx to Fi, we race the national in Sweden plus enduro. The bike is more expsive because the parts are way better, triple clamps are forged the brakes are Brembo highest quality not what's on KTM, the crank is easy 40 more than KTM. I have Lanier suspen on the kyb unit front and back cost 2000 us vs cone valve 8000, although Trax unit is much better. I have also Dyno all the 125 and yes they lack 2-3 HP on top but ate 3 HP stronger in upper mid range were you most ride. A race 125 with all the works/suspension from KTM is 18k us the Tm is 12 as you can order engine work from the factory, the KTM is a easier bike to race+YZ but if you are a good 2-stroke pro then this is it.

    Rode MX bikes all my days, and have to say the TM is one of the best. So much so i kept an old 98 TM 125 MX bike, because it was that good, which is still going strong now in 2022 ! Parts from TM direct, of course will be expensive …. Same as going to a BMW main dealer for parts. TM use alot of crossover parts, which have been mentioned before. Do your research, and a TM wont cost you an arm & a leg. Our old TM is sitting there with up to date MX bikes and is still the one everyone wants to use.

    Parts are 2day to my door from California to Florida!! I just bought a shifter lever from cross-shop for $45. Do a little research and save some money. Going to your local dealer is just adding a middle man. Yes OEM parts are pricey but seldom needed and are of very high quality. In 2018 TM got the KYB valving in the suspension dialed in and have only gotten better. Yes, gas cap does leak and can drive u nuts. I just crank it down and it stops, just something I get use to.

      Ok thanks for the info. Both my bikes are 2017 so that’s all I can speak on. Glad to hear the suspension is better on the 2018 and up.

      I love mine too - although it's a new EN300ES with a built engine. Only took four years for my broke ass to save. Leagues better than the 2020 Husqvarna TPI I had, and that bike is phenomenal. Even my engine parts came in ptetty quickly compared to things I ordered in the Husqvarna/KTM Powerparts. Love it better than the new Yamaha 4t I had too! Great bike! Gonna order myself the new 450 in another couple years (2023 MX450Fi). Awesome machine, and my modified 300 2t seriously has rear wheel HP numbers that match 450s, no lie! Those VHM heads with High Compression MX Racing Inserts really wake it up with the full Pro Circuit system - but I got alot more than that on there! It hangs with the 450 crowd EASILY!!!

    • @jonathondavis170
      @jonathondavis170 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the TM Racing USA Webshop is as easy to use as the Powerparts catalog, and like I said, even found shipping faster in a few cases!!!

      @@brapperdan I've always called their hotline with "Get Dirty"dirt bikes and between them and my dealer I've NEVER had a problem. It's been a simple process with TM Racing USA EVERY SINGLE TIME. :) I've even spoke with the importer a bunch, and they've been very helpful with the whole buying and modification process! I LOVE the bike WAY more than that 2020 Husqvarna TPI I had and sold. NowI have a 2022 Honda CRF450R (building it into an RX with XPR Engines), andthe professionals of TM Racing know more about their modifications than most Honda dealerships know about engine modifications and Racing (I am lucky enough to find 2 really good Honda racing dealerships though).
      Sorry your experience hasn't been as pleasurable, but mine has been amazing , and these newer TMs from 2019 on hit the mark in every category really. :) I'd just call the TM Racing hotlines and speak to Ralph (the importer - and I may not have his name right lol), or the owner of Get Dirty which is the second number to get you hooked up with parts. Also try Frank's Motorbikes in Bellevue, WA (Seattle Area) and he helps people all around the USA AND Canada get what they want and need. :) Take care.

  • @SreidMX
    @SreidMX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    While I will agree certain things are more money like shrouds or rear fender, there is a lot of crossover for these. The clutch is Honda, that being said the prox replacement for stock is no more than an oem Japanese clutch, the gas cap is not an issue if the rubber seal is properly installed, flat screwdriver to push it into the cap fully will stop the leaks completely. The dealers might be hit and miss so deal with TM usa direct, they usually will have parts to you in 1-2 days, no different than anything not stocked locally. One thing nobody mentions is TM uses very high grade hardware, stuff doesn’t rattle off nearly as much as other brands, the bolts don’t strip as easy. Maintenance wise they’re the same as any two stroke. Suspension wise really depends on the person, regardless of the bike you should be setting them up. If you ride a TM back to back with anything, you will notice immediately the handling and fit and finish that they are built very well.. I personally thought this is a bit nit picky, but that’s just my opinion.

    • @brapperdan
      @brapperdan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your right it is kinda nit picky. I made a video before this about 5 things I love so I figured I’d do one with 5 things I don’t like. By the way I wish there was a comprehensive list of crossover parts to reference because it’s not easy finding the info for the specific year you need.

    • @SreidMX
      @SreidMX 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brapperdan there is a thread on ThumperTalk explaining on all those crossover parts. Another one is levers, they’re ktm levers, brake pads, there is stuff that is annoying and specific like sprockets. Weird thing I found was the fork guard is Honda but somehow they have them made in blue. The radiator louvres are ktm and even have a ktm logo which made me lol. Seat covers off mid 2k Honda crs work. The main big parts obviously are TM but personally after 80hrs of hard abuse and minimal maint, I haven’t had a single issue with the bike not caused by my lack of skill or crashing.. as far as I am concerned my opinion is they are equally as reliable as a Honda or better..

    You actually miss 2 main things to hate on TM bikes and they are actually quit big to be honest. First is the airbox how small it is and how painful is to change the air filter… tight space to manuver your hands with greasy air filtr and its almost imposible to change it without a big risk of wipeing out a dirt from the subframe and battery case on the inside side of the airfilter risking a potencional damege for the engine, no good in race conditions. Second is the rear brake🙄 brake pump dont have a good protection and seal to prevent getting a dust and mud into a brake pump, brake pump is only seald with one simple rubber bushing that dont have any clip or something to hold it proprly in place , so you ride and suddenly you dont have rear brake… but u have mud in the piston….. and scratechs deep like someone was trying to cut inside of your brake pump with a angle grinder. Also thats my advice chack under the rubber bushing often so you dont need to throw up 200dollars for new brake pump.

    • @brapperdan
