    AUSSIE TM WARRANTY 30 DAYS OR 3 MONTHS?! The TM warranty in Australia may only be 30 days! The bike in this vid had problem at two months old, the dealer wouldn't help because it was apparently only a 30 day warranty. When I mentioned this publicly Facebook, the national distributor quickly ran Ben, assured him it was three months, then offered to help fix the bike. But now I hear another Australian TM owner has been told his bike is outside the 30 day warranty and won't be fixed! So make sure you get your warranty put down in writing.
    TM WARRANTY IN OTHER COUNTRIES? It varies from 30 days to three months to one year in other countries... check with your dealer for your situation. Also modifications may void the warranty.
    WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR TM Fi?
    Unfortunately, we have started having troubles with the fuel injection. At first, the Australian distributor and dealer weren't willing to look into the problem and said it was outside the warranty. The owner spent days trying to diagnose the issue, buying new sensors etc. We mentioned the lack of support online then the distributor agreed to buy the bike back at a reduced price. In the meantime, we've seen others complaining about similar issues. I strongly suggest buying the carb model. If we ever find out what the problem was, we'll post it here.
    OTHER TM EN300 KNOWN ISSUES? I've trawled the forums and dozen of owners comments on this vid and the Facebook one.... the vast majority say zero problems, at least with carb model.
    Weak battery? A few owners said it's a bit weak and flattens easily if starting a lot.
    Grunt? Fi owners agree the lowdown power lacks a bit (without ECU tweaks), and the carb is better.
    Electronic powervalve resetting? Two owners have this on every start so they rigged up switches to stop it.
    A few owners said jetting was too rich for their area and plugs fouled until they rejetted (beware, this may void the warranty).
    Connected with above, two commented on heavy fuel use until they rejetted.
    One owner said the design of the rear hub makes it easy to break spokes if your chain comes off on the inside - only one report online of this worldwide so not sure if it's a biggie or not.
    Forks? Quite a few owners agreed with me that the forks are a bit harsh for low speed riding.
    Power serve cable? One 2017 owner said his power serve cable was torn three times and replaced.

      Any news on the Fuel Injection Problems? I will order a TM in the next few month and retire my orange pumkin. If you have any suggestions for fixes for the problem i would love to hear them so i can be ahead of the game.

    Good to see TM content. TM is everything quality and for sure they can stamp the "Ready to Race" slogan instead of an orange brand that nowadays sells more like expensive "Ready to Ride" bikes.

    Another 3 votes for TM from the USA. I ride a EN300FI, my wife rides a EN250FI, and my best friend/riding buddy/business partner rides a EN300 Carb. All 3 bikes have been exceptional. All 3 bikes have 50-80 hours on them with zero issues. OEM parts availability through the local importer has been fine, and pricing isn't extravagant. As far as the bling parts, you dont really need much for it, it comes blinged out from the factory. And there are a few companies out there that make the "necessities", such as gear, billet caliper brackets, skid plates, etc. Maybe a little more pricy than KTM stuff, but way more classy! It's hard to beat the craftsmanship of these hand built bikes. The welds are all awesome, the machining is excellent, and the power is awesome. Your local importer should have the software to easily re-map your ECU if you get the FI version. I have 2 maps on mine with a switch, one thats pretty hot, lifts the front end no problem. The 2nd map is my "traction control", nice for trail riding when i want it a little more softer off idle and going up hills where i might be concerned about getting the front end too high up. The power is extremely linear for a 2 stroke, partially due to their ECU controlled electronic power valve.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for the feedback. How do you find the low end power compares between yours and the carb? Pretty important for me as we are almost always riding slow at low revs...

    • @secutright
      @secutright 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@crosstrainingenduro Personally I don't notice a huge difference between them, but my bike came to me remapped, i got it second hand from a TM sponsored hard enduro rider who had it done up right. I'm biased, but i prefer the FI, both the way it feels and from a maintenance standpoint. The oil injection is really nice, not having to mix fuel is a heck of a convenience when you want to just get on and ride and realize your tank is empty. I also feel like the FI is slightly more linear in power, and a little "cleaner" burning, being TPI there arent any issues with fuel loading up in the crankcase when you're lugging it, so no need to keep cleaning it out.

    • @SreidMX
      @SreidMX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@crosstrainingenduro I’m the best friend lol, I ride the carb model and split my riding between hard enduro/open desert and motocross. I find the low end to be plenty adequate, it is softer than ktm two strokes, that being said the power is broader and does not fall off like a ktm. I find it is easy to lug or rev, something of note. I was switching from 12/48 to 13/48 gearing when I was doing the harder enduro stuff but have now found the taller gearing to work plenty well. I believe the lower gearing is nicer when you lack clutch control as some of us do. It should be noted my carb bike has the 5 speed, the first gear is the same as the 6 speed, 6th is a taller gear for those running really low gearing and not wanting compromise. We are connected to TM usa and the hard enduro bikes typically will use 12/50-12/52 depending on where the race is. Mapping is also easily adjustable by the dealer on the carb model. If your ever in the souther us please shoot us a note, we’d love to ride with you guys! I vote TM

    I had a 2017 tm 300 fi four stroke enduro bike. I put 60 hours on it before I sold it. At 30 hours I raced a particularly muddy hare scramble. The bike overheated and the clutch plates smelled cooked, so I went for a DNF. Upon getting the bike home, I changed the engine oil first. The curious thing about it was, upon starting the bike, the engine oil would disappear from the sight glass and not return. Didn't matter how much oil you put in, almost double, the same thing kept happening.
    TMuk were willing to look at the bike. Turns out a plastic cam chain silencer had melted inside the head, gone down the side of the engine and blocked one of the internal oil filters/ screens. Tmuk did all the work for free and replacement parts for free, can't fault their service. If you buy a 4 stroke tm you must put a decent coolant in it and a cooling fan on the rad.
    The bike handled well and was good on mx tracks. The 300 4 stroke motor was horrible at low revs, had a lot of issues with it flaming out- possibly due to the mapping. The forks benefited from lighter springs and less oil in technical terrain. The rear wheel bearing collapsed at 40 hours. Can't say I've had the best experience with TM bikes.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A pity to hear about those problems. I would hope there are less problems with the two strokes? I know they have been around for a few years now but I'd like to see them become more of an established brand before I considered buying one.

My one friend races his in expert class and did a top end at 40 hours and the piston came out looking brand new still, and my other friend who put well over 100 hours on it, doing a lot of hard enduro and fast paced single line riding did a top end and his piston and cylinder looked basically new as well, both of them could have went a lot longer without having to do a top end . When driving in sub-zero temperatures, sometimes the engine chokes unexpectedly when adding gas. After declutching (without gas) it enters high revs and after some time it goes down to normal. This applies to sudden throttle opening. I don't notice it at high than 0 degrees celsius temperatures.

    I have a 2021 TM 250 EN Fi. It’s been very good so far. Suspension and chassis are impeccable. We put in a different Fi map and it’s been smiles the whole time. Mine had an annoying tendency to reset the power valve upon restart, so I wired up a switch to keep the ECU live while riding, in case of a stall or killing the engine somehow.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There seem to be very occasional issues with the electronic power valve Michael... but I'm not sure if there are enough cases to say it's a known issue or not. Sherco has one as well which seems to play up if you don't keep the whole system dust-free....

      I can attest that the “Hard Enduro” map that the TM guys in USA are using is a great map and the bike has broad, usable power.

It's my biggest gripe by far with my 2021 TM 300 EN Fi that wish TM would acknowledge the issue and would have helped us at all, which they didn't.
      Other issues with the bike are the microscopic airbox/filter access and I'm certain the US importer does NOT offer any warranty with US bikes, let alone a full year. Getting parts is a cinch in western US, no harder than my 2017 Beta 300 Race. Love my bike I got a 2022 the thing is an absolute beast the problems I’m having is my digital screen , brake lights , head lights ,horn all went out . But my electric start works and the fan works I’ve been riding it like this for a while now as I checked everything I could think of like any obvious wiring or pipes fuses but everything looks fine ? I’ve got to take it in to the shop .
