    Cheers for this video, appreciated for the information you’ve shared. definitely subscribing for more content. I’ve learnt a lot from places all over. It’s nice that you have most of the info in one spot😁 I was lost with fuel pump system but you just showed me exactly that haha. Thanks mate!

    You helped me a bunch here, I decided to just buy an XR6 Turbo and do the engine up from there.

      Its definitely a much cheaper and easier option. The only reason i bothered was because i've had the car a long time and i like to do this sort of stuff. If starting from scratch i'd just do what you've done for sure!

      No problems man! It was some of your videos that actually encouraged me to do this conversion in the first place

    hey im swapping a 04 BA turbo motor into a 07 NA BF and I'm wandering will the BA turbo ecu connect to the BF body???

    How did you manage to get it started with FORScan? People have told me doing a PATS reset and train modules but i don't know how to do that

    • @stuff7853
      @stuff7853  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need a elm327 scanner and a copy of forscan with the extended license. Instructions for obtaining the license can be found on the forscan site. After that you need to pair the pcm to the car, do a pats reset and you can also pair the ICC back to the car to stop it showing code. You will need two original keys to do the pats reset though.

    Hey mate just finished doing my car thank you for this video my ba is doing the same thing it did to yours no speedo and stuck in 3rd gear I’m just wondering what did Ford actually do and how can it be fixed asked a few people and know one knows even asked a ford technician! I got the ecu flashed and tuned also

    • @stuff7853
      @stuff7853  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, ford wouldn't tell me what they did. But basically there are a couple of parameters that need to be changed in the ecu to change the speed source to match what the car has, most likely yours has abs but no traction control like mine. To do this you either need to have the right hardware and software like pcmtech to change the settings yourself or send the ecu to someone who does. Bill Hooton who runs the fb page Hootons Harnesses can do it along with any tuner with a decent understanding of the barra pcm.

    Run the trans cooler under the car and put the power steer cooler in front of driver side front wheel

    • @stuff7853
      @stuff7853  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trans cooler under the car is definitely a consideration for when i buy a built auto. Its still just running through the radiator at this point which isn't ideal. I have seen people put the power steering cooler in front of the drivers wheel but i wasn't keen on the idea because there's not much airflow there. Its working very well in its current position but i expect it may have a negative effect on IAT's when i eventually get it on a dyno.

      @@stuff7853 check out ross holland on youtube his build he didnt use the power steering cooler and hasn't had any issues

      @@barra190kw6 By memory he bought the factory finned cooler but then ended up bypassing it altogether. I wouldn't really recommend it though. With the factory na style cooler the fluid in mine used to get very hot in warm weather and the steering would start shuddering in car parks. It barely gets warm to touch now and has never shuddered again which was an unplanned fix to the problem

    Dumb question but turboing my ba I have I buy a Barra motor first yeah or can I just slap a turbo on the na?

    • @stuff7853
      @stuff7853  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure can. The na engine is still a barra motor just with slight differences internally to the turbo engines. Plenty have turboed the NA motors.

    What if yiu get a electronic boost contol set up separately as i think i have one hybrid hdi boost contol yeah lets hope that works Because they're honestly. Isn't any information anywhere you'll lick the only guy doing it now im doing haha but ive fot mine flashed i found out mine is a bf 2006 and not ba 2005

    • @stuff7853
      @stuff7853  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you can use an external boost controller you just have to get the car tuned to suit. I prefer using the factory boost control though because it gives the tuner far greater control when tuning. For what its worth this cars now running 340rwkw on 14psi and the factory boost control is working perfectly

    Did u ever just consider turboing the na engine. Few blokes have done it with good success. Yeh it cant take as much boost but the na gearbox, diff, exhaust valves, tailshaft will all become a problem before the engine does.

    • @stuff7853
      @stuff7853  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was the initial plan. Then this engine came up for cheaper then i could buy all the parts so i decided to just put valves springs in it and use it instead. When i realised it was no good i just sort of rolled with it and rebuilt it. Not the cost effective way to do it but gave me a fresh engine and gave me an excuse to build an engine. Bonus is having it signed off and the engine numbers swapped on the registration paperwork keeps my insurance happy. Built transmission and m86 diff swap are on the cards for a later date. Then the rods will be the limiting factor.

      @@stuff7853 true. But the factory turbo can take a fair amount of a abuse. Seems like every month there is a new record a stock bottom end. Atm i think 620kw or around thereish

    • @Deadshilz

      Theres a few issues in turboing and na engine, one being the lack of oil inlets internally around the engine where as the turbo engine has these to allow for better cooling.
