    The variation, even at such a small size is amazing! I didn't realise the pitchers were produced so early on either.
    Very informative. Great content as always!

      @@WindowsillNepenthes after watching your videos, I'm not confident about buying seeds from eBay in case they are not fresh or as described.
      If I could find a reputable site in the UK that sold genuinely decent seeds, I would definitely consider it after seeing your success.

      Well, I plan to keep between 2 and 4 max, so if you live in Canada you will be able to buy some for sure!
      But they are way too tiny for now. ;)

    My tiny nepenthes has a strange leaf that has no tendril. The end of the leaf inflated to become a pitcher and now it's the biggest on that plant. Have you ever seen this before?

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes on tiny plants it's like the pitcher is directly attached to the leaf without tendril. ;)

    I ordered some seeds, I watched your tutorial on how to grow em from seeds
    I wanna ask, do you think the seeds need light?
    I don't have no light for growing purposes purchased... but I'm thinking about getting those
    as I was growing one small nepenthes in a plastic box, it sadly got burnt and died, do you think I can put the box w the seeds outside on the sun? I am scared of them also burning and them not germinating

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The seeds need light, humidity and heat.
      But the problem with the sun is that the heat build inside the box and you can't control it. It will cook plants and seeds...
      But for seeds, regular light would works (around 12h/day).
      Then when they germinate you can put them on a bright place. Depending where you are, direct sun can be to strong.

      Thank you for your response.
      I'm thinking about buying a LED light for my nep and I don't know what should the optimal light be? Do you have any suggestions on some?

    I’m getting my first batch of seeds soon, super excited! Was wondering if you’ve ever had algea and what you do against it? It has been a problem with my drosera and utricularia seeds (grown on windowsill
    Do you fertilize your baby plants somehow? I hear feeding nutritional yeast to baby drosera really speeds them up, who knows, might also work for nepenthes?

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before the seeds germinate, I will spray 3% Hydrogen Peroxide.
      But only if I have to. Usually I scoop them out of I can.

    I'm so glad you did not interrupt your own video this time asking for subscribers. That's so annoying and can't stand that everyone does that. Thanks for the update on your seedlings. They are doing great. Wow congrats on a variagated one. Take good care of that one. Those get stupidly expensive and you got one by chance.

      @@WindowsillNepenthes Ah good to hear that. I have been on youtube since 2007 and things were so much better back then. People didn't beg for subscribers. I never have and never will. I have gained all the watchers I have just by putting out interesting things. If you have good stuff the right people will come. It's not about numbers. Quality over quantity. You should see my two rant posts on my community page about things I hate about youtube.

    I screwed up, should of watched this before reporting mine, decided to try and take water to help separate the sphagnum from the roots without breaking them but I guess I drowned them only maybe like 4 survived repotting, we'll see🤞

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They can't be drowned except if they are underwater for a day. But repotting may damage the roots and some plants could die. Good luck ;)
