@@tironjr Yes for some species I want them now, especially the slow growing highlanders ;) And actually I'm sorry but I don't recall you... sorry! But now I'm intrigued!
Just happened to have 3 plants flowering, 2 females and 1 male! I Made the following hybrids but the seeds haven't started to develop yet: ((Rokko 'Exotica' x Boschiana) x truncata) x (Ventricosa x Insignis) Ventricosa x (ventricose x Insignis)
Holy cow, dude! The number of plants and healthy environment are enviable. This video is fantastic. I'm looking at shopping now for our bio dome community project here.
Thanks for the video! I just pollinated my first nepenthes and it seems to have been about 80% successful! I can't believe how fast the seed pods are growing! But the female is a pure ventricosa so I guess that makes sense
Hi Dom can you please advise on the best min and max temperature to grow your seedlings after germination and potting on into individual pots? Thank you for your time.
Always a pleasure watching your videos. I'm in Nz and have just collected seed from a cross I did myself, not sure if this is typed correctly but, (inermis x gymnamphora) x (Ventricosa-squat x maxima).
Amazing video as always! Thank you for share it, in your experience, nepenthes weakens if it blooms? And if you don’t have two plants in bloom, do you recommend cut the flower if you don’t will use it?
Every plant is different. Once they are mature and vining usually they flower. This can take anywhere from 3 - 10 years depending on the species or hybrid. Sometimes they flower early out of stress. Some growers have huge vines and never see flowers.
at what age does a nepenthes start to flower ? I am planing to get a briggsiana for the windowsill this year and as will be a young plant it probably won't flower this year will it
Tried to follow just what you said in this video (including microwaving the prepared pot)... but I'm getting mold on some of the seeds (at the embyo--which is probably a good sign RE: successful pollination)... would it be okay to spray with thiomyl or physan? (...or do you have another suggestion?) Thanks!! Aloha, -pt
I tried germinating my seeds but despite the growlight support and full enclosed humidity, somehow mold took hold instead of my seeds, what would you advise?
Mahalo Dom for another great video! I started about a year ago sowing Nep seeds and got some nice results; others total duds. But I am always wondering about fertilizing with a much diluted solution. In the past few weeks, I took a cue from another seed grower to lightly mist spray once a week. I do not do it that often though and use Maxsea at 1/4 tsp/gall. H20. But, my question is: Do you fertilize seedlings? If so, what do you use?
I would love to make my own seeds one day! You clearly have a lot of cool parent-plants to play with 😍
For me to grow Plants from Seeds isn't a thing because I am not patient enough. Maybe one Day and hi Remi to meet you here too! Remember me? :)

Ok right! We also talked about some nurseries using peat moss for nepenthes too 😃

How do you cope with mold in these humidity domes?
Never have an issue. Some use hydrogen peroxide to battle it. Mold would probably be an issue if not enough light is given.

Do you have any issues with fungus? Every time I put it in a hermetic bag I have this problem.
I love your videos I watch them all the time. Please tell me how often do you fertilize your nepenthes and what mix ratio do you use?

Hi back!

Any fertilizer is probably way too strong for little seedlings.
I hope I could find one this Saturday. Going to a plant hunt in the mountains. So excited!
Im curious, do you filter the chlorine & fluoride out of your water, or simply use it straight from the tap?
Yes! I only use reverse osmosis and rain water for the greenhouse!
No tap water for nepenthes. Also that doesn't really do much it still has all the minerals in it by getting rid of the chlorine and fluoride
How many weeks after male and female meets?
Hi! It can take 3 months or longer.

I can’t tell if I wanna add carnivorous plants to my collection or I just think Dom is hot. Either way I can’t stop watching these videos.
I am that guy that said on Etsy you guys should do a cross between nepenthes edwardsiana x nepenthes veitchii candy dreams😀
Am I the only one who thought the male and female flowers would look completely different?
